Lacking call features
I liked them overall for sound quality and comfort, but they lacked in the call quality department. I know they obviously won’t be to the level of a noise canceling headset, but the conolaints I got while on the phone with them forced a retun. With the price being that premium, I expected more from them.

Completely disappointed
I was so excited for my Bose Ultra Open Earbuds to come so I could be able to finally have a great pair of buds that I had thought would have an amazing, deep sound but, I was completely blind sided by the disappointment delivered to my door. After downloading the Bose app and connecting them to my phone to test the buds out; I couldn’t quite get the sound I was expecting. This was after I selected the enhanced listening in the app. The sound seemed low even with my volume all the way up. Sounded like there was too much distortion with all the crackling from the volume. I turned down the volume but, I couldn’t hear the music very well. The biggest disappointment was the fact that there seemed to be no bass with these buds. I’ve never had anything negative to say about Bose before but, these should be recalled and redone. Do better Bose. *Update – So after messing with them for a bit, I was able to minimize the distortion however, there is still a substantial lack of bass. I do love that they are very light and comfortable and I even forget they are there hanging on my ear but, I’m still not pleased.

So Awesome!
These Bose Open Earbuds are like no other earbuds I’ve worn before – they’re super comfy and sound amazing! First, let’s talk comfort. Instead of sticking inside your ears, these earbuds sit gently above them, feeling like a feather on your ears. Now, onto the sound. Even though they look different, these earbuds deliver top-notch audio. With Bose’s special tech, you get clear highs, nice middles, and deep bass – it’s like having a concert in your head! What’s cool is that these earbuds let you hear what’s happening around you too. So, whether you’re walking in the city or chilling outside, you won’t miss a beat. There’s also an app that lets you tweak stuff like the sound and even talk to virtual assistants with a tap. Bose Open Earbuds are a game-changer in my opinion. They’re comfy, sound great, and keep you connected – they’re a must-try for everyone who loves music!

Fit for an all-day wear
These adorable earbuds wrap around your ear, which made me feel secure while wearing them. Connecting the earbuds to my iPhone took a few tries as it didn’t detect right away. But this is not the earbuds for everyone. I enjoyed hearing my surroundings while listening to the podcast, but my partner wanted something with noise cancellation, as that’s what Bose is known for. The earbuds are super lightweight, and you could go on with your day, forgetting that you are wearing them. As such, the earbuds are suitable for wearing around the office in a relatively quiet environment. But for the price tag of $300, it is pretty steep for earbuds that do not have the noise cancellation feature. The battery life is great as you can go on days without charging.

I love that
I bought it thinking I would have to return it but it is a wonderful device that transports you to another world, META really did an incredible job with better functions than the Apple vision pro

Great sound
The sound is wonderful but the fit is not for all ears. They kept falling out of my ears and I adjusted them several times and they still kept falling out

Horrible.
I returned these right after purchase. They’re impossible to place in your ears correctly. The box came without any adjustable caps for the earbuds.
All in all, a disaster for Bose.

Not great
These headphones are nice, the sound while listening to music is great.
However—when phone calls come in the sound cuts in and out, the person on the other line can hear themselves speaking as if it’s echoing back to them. The volume goes up and down so they can’t really tell what you’re saying to them.
The battery life in standard listening mode is approximately 7/8hrs and in immersive listening mode is approximately 2/3hrs. The case charges pretty fast and the headphones charge quickly too.
For $300 headphones there shouldn’t be any sound issues so I wound up returning them.

Fantastic new earbud technology held back by years-old issues
What I wanted out of the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds was a product I: (1) would not have to take out when I talk to people, (2) could rely on to drown out subway and street noise, and (3) could listen to loudly at times without worrying about significant noise bleed irritating the people around me.
The Bose Ultra Open Earbuds sound fantastic. It took a few hours, but I found a sweet spot for volume that allowed me to listen to music and treat it as “background noise” while I could also talk to people I see throughout the day (e.g., people at the gym check-in, familiar coffee shop faces). But there is just no way to even mildly drown out the street noise without having the volume on its highest, and even then, I could still hear it. And the subway? Phew, even worse.
I had a friend walk around the city with me to see if he could hear my music clearly at different volume levels. Indoors, he could hear at 40% volume. Outdoors, at 60% volume. This is understandably a product that other people will hear, given the “open” part of it, but I was hoping that Bose somehow found a way to push the envelope forward a bit more.
Regarding comfort, I love the first hour every time I put these on. But after an hour, there is pain/fatigue in the cartilage/earlobe area that these are clasped around, and when I eventually take them off, these areas feel very tender/sore.
The biggest issue, though, is a connectivity problem not unique to “open” earbuds. For every song I listen to (~ three minutes each), the earbuds lose audio connection for approximately two seconds at least twice. I often find myself taking them off and putting them away and going back to other headphones I have because of how frustrating it is to experience audio loss that often (~35 instances/hour). The frequency of the audio drop will likely cause me to return these. $300 earbuds should not experience issues like this, especially when every other Bose product does not. I am not sure why this one is any different, yet here we are.
Overall, this is a fantastic product held back by old issues. The other “issues” I faced represent the consequences of city living. I guess the connection issues will be resolved via software update, but I do not intend to wait around with them to find out.

Good idea, bad product
Overall, I do like the idea of these earbuds (if you can call them that), but there are some absolutely fatal issues that hopefully Bose can address in upcoming firmware updates. I recommend holding off until these problems are fixed, or another generation that works better—or maybe another product from a company that doesn’t release half-baked products.
I don’t think I will ever buy another Bose product again because of these, but anyway:
Pros:
– Open design, obviously. They don’t cover your ears, and you don’t have to shove anything in your ears.
– Very lightweight. It’d be easy to forget that you’re even wearing these if they didn’t have such infuriating audio issues (see cons).
– Surprisingly good sound. The bass is lacking, which is to be expected, but these have nice, clear, dynamic sound (when you can hear it).
– Battery life. They seem to last for a long time.
Cons:
– Unacceptable connection issues. Putting it generously, the connection on these is spotty. They frequently lose connection—or lose sync between each other so one side is a split-second behind the other (which is extremely disorienting!). Even with your phone in close proximity and unobstructed line-of-sight, they struggle to stay connected and synced. And then all bets are off if you dare to put your phone in your pocket or bag. This should be a total embarrassment for Bose at this price point, and yet they released them.
– Far too quiet. I suppose this should be expected, but these cannot get loud at all. Honestly, top volume put these at just about what would be minimum volume for any other in-ear buds. I couldn’t imagine using these on public transit or on a noisy street.
– Form factor. Maybe not a con to some, but they look pretty goofy, like ugly, chunky earrings.

Great Sound
I just love the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds. Top sound quality from a small earbud I was amazed by the rich sounds that such a small ear piece was able to produce. With a true surround sound that is private so others can not hear your sounds from your earbuds. Best part is has a unique open ear design so I can still hear that out side world. Super light weight that stay on I had no issues during working outs to keep the bud in place. Amazing battery life I used for at least 6 hours and had no loss in charge power. The app is easy to use and updates automatically so you don’t need to think about it. The Bose come in an easy to use small light weight charging box that is easy to travel with. I would highly recommend Bose Ultra Open Earbuds to anyone looking for a top quality surround sound earbud. The item description was just as described and I would buy it again.

Better than I expected.
I wasn’t sure how these would work out as I have a few other Bose earbuds. The others are great for noise canceling. These are great for when you want to listen to music and still be able to hear the conversation.

Perfect for listening to music at work
They get a little slippery if you get really sweaty, but other than that they sound awesome and last a full 8 hour shift. I can actually hear what everyone is saying to me.

Super clear sound. Very lightweight.
I prefer open earbuds, and the only other ones I could tolerate before were Samsung Buds Live, which I have enjoyed for years, but the sound quality of the Samsung does not compare to the high quality of these Boze Ultra open earbuds. The Bose are very lightweight, comfortable to wear all day, and very crisp, clear sound.

Sound is nice
Sound quality is good. But not loud enough. Equalizer thru the app helps. Not worth the 300

Decent 2nd attempt at open ear. Improvement needed
The headset is very comfortable, lightweight, and easy to use while sounding great when listening to music. I tend to use them mainly for calls which is where it fell short big time. They let in way too much background noise to a point that had people asking me if I had a different set to use or they would get irritated by the noise they were hearing. This really made the price too high. Would love for Apple and Beats to try their hand at open ear.

Great earbuds, but one gripe
The sound quality is the best I’ve heard. They are comfortable. My one gripe is that it doesn’t connect to 2 devices at one time. It is a pain to keep manually changing between my phone and computer. It is not even user friendly to change devices.
