LG OLED Evo G4 77″ 4K HDR Smart TV 2024

The picture quality, brightness of everything we have watched and games played has exceeded our expectations!! Intuitive OS. Only thing I don’t like is you have to get an LG account just to download an app. For anime folks Cruchyrool app is available for download. But in the age of smart everything this is not surprising. For the gamers, paired this to an Xbox series X and Starfield is just incredible. This is used in a sunny room daily with ZERO degradation of image quality. Some people harp on the remote. The weight and usability is everything you would expect. Black is black! Any blooming is a thing of the past! If you can swing it, this is the IT TV for 2024!!

The 77 inch is a beast with a great MLA panel. As a PC gamer with a 4090, hooking this up with the gsync and 144hz refresh rate was a dream. Genuinely havent ever seen my games look this good. Apple TV was the next hook up and for the most part things look good, but nothing you can do about some of the bandwidth of streaming services. PS5 is great of course as is the 4k player. Overall, very impressive panel… but im not convinced its $5k worthy. Heres why…. 1) The included wall flush moint has terrible instructions. Firstly the QR codecgor install sent me to the G2 model so presumably they are the same, but none the less this was a confusing start. 2) The mount does not click in. I tried everything and didnt want to break the thing. Its flush against my wall but no magnetic click. There is zero literture on what this means from LG. Is my TV safe? Who knows! 3) the instruction gives you no understanding of how to mount this purely in dry wall, in studs, a combo of both or in concrete. It’s just really poorly done and frankly you’ll be going to reddit to seek your answers… for $5k i expect a much more robust instruction manual with troubleshooting tips along with a mount that can be tweaked and worked to different walls. The other issue here is the sound, you will beed a soundbar but at this price you probably have that good to go. Finally, is it worth just getting the G3 at substantially cheaper? Honestly unless youre a PC gamer and need that little extra juice or that little extra brightness (and HDR is amazing in this thing), im not sure i see where the $1400 to $2000 difference is right now. Persobally id wait for this to go on sale. Great panel but leaves a poor first impression.

The tv is exceptionally bright and great color and detail reproduction. The screen handles reflections well and mutes light sources significantly. The AI features to help improve picture quality and motion work well! This TV replaced an LG C8 which has doubled the peak brightness. I also have a samsung qn90b and i would say they feel about neck and neck with brightness at least visually, maybe not by the actual numbers. The low light handling and shadow detail are excellent and much improved upon. I had considered getting the samsung s95d as i had heard the matte finish does an amazing job eliminating glare, but after further consumer reviews it appeared the off angle sunlight would completely wash out the image. Other than increased color luminosity on the s95d, i feel that the G4 checks more boxes on subtle improvements. Outside of perhaps sony releasing an a95m in the fall or something i think this is the tv to beat!

My first LG tv ever. I’m very impressed with the picture and build quality. Stunning color and brightness. I would recommend pairing this TV with a good soundbar. The Sanus TV stand worked well for me since I did not want to wall mount.

Beautiful picture, paired it with the LGS95QR Soundbar and couldn’t be happier. Like all LG Oled’s you just need to turn off Energy Saver in order to take advantage of the TV’s brightness. I would also switch from the default picture mode to ISF Bright or ISF Dark for SDR and Cinema Home or Filmmaker for HDR. Turn off all AI brightness and AI Picture unless you want the TV to control the brightness and Picture

LG G4 just delivered and have had 2 days. i was considering this tv or the Sony A95L but based on professional reviews bought the G4 even tho i had not seen it in the showroom. Is equal to or better than the A95L. color saturation and brightness are excellent as is amount of detail shown. i liked using the AI feature to select the way i wanted my screen to show content visually. i went for warm brightness. my previous tv was the LG G2 and the G4 is a dramatic improvement. i use a Sonos Arc soundbar and the room is very bright during day

This display is superb. This made my very cheap friends see the difference a quality display can make. The picture is highly customizable via the AI helper. The brightness overcomes my bright living room situation and there’s the tiniest bit of glare from the giant bay window, which is impressive. The issues come with the HDMI port 2, the eARC port. The picture gets distorted and blurry. I guess this is known issue and LG will replace the product, but what good is a replacement if the replacement has the same issue? The other ports work good, but then you’re left with multiple remotes controlling your devices. This may or may not be an issue for you. It’s a hassle for me. I don’t like the magic remote for controlling everything.

Coming from a top of the line 1080p Panasonic plasma TV, turning this on and loading some Dolby Vision 4k video was so overwhelming in such a satisfying way! Wow! I have been missing so much. The picture clarity, colors, everything just pops out like a 3D-picture. Super immersive at 77”. Steep entry price and a huge sacrifice but man o man, was it worth it! It is like your eyes just opened up to a whole new world of experiences. One word to describe this TV: Amazing! I’m a believer now; YouTube reviewers were absolutely right about this being the 2024 best TV contender.

I purchased the new LG G4 at my local Best Buy. I had a 14 year old plasma television and it still worked. While visiting the Best Buy, I spoke with a sales representative that showed me the G3. I couldn’t believe what I’d been missing. The picture was incredible. Sharp and bright and unbelievable detail! A huge upgrade from my plasma. I was told that the newer G4 was even better. I checked the specs and decided it was time to upgrade and I’m very happy I did. Highly recommend!
