LG CordZero™ All in One Cordless Stick Vacuum with Auto Empty, Power Mop Pro & Dual Floor Max Nozzles

When I purchased this vacuum I had no idea it came with moping and bed cleaning attachments as well as two houses for my kids to play games and live in. They have been in these boxes living their best lives in our living room for about two weeks and counting.

Unpacking the box the vacuum appeared to be well constructed. The parts (body, extension pipe, and nozzles) fit well together. The accessory tools fit conveniently into the docking station. The instruction pamphlets were easy to understand. Here is what I liked about the vacuum.
1) It’s light weight.
2) Carpet nozzle has headlights
3) There is a mop nozzle for washing/cleaning hard floors.
4) 3 suction settings (low, med, & high)
5) Battery life is longer than my old vacuum – but not as long as advertised.
6) Docking station empties vacuum dust bin into a dust bag inside the docking station when vacuum is inserted into the docking station.
Here is what I dislike about the vacuum:
1) I am unable to use a suction setting above the lowest setting. If I try, the carpet nozzle sucks up the carpet and the electronics interprets that as a blockage and shuts off to prevent damage to the vacuum. My carpet is plush-like. I do not know if this shutting off characteristic applies to other carpets and I do not know if this characteristic is peculiar only to my machine or if it occurs with all machines of the same model number.
2) The extension pipe does not extend far enough for me. (It’s too short even at its longest length, but I can live with it).
3) The advertised battery life (200 minutes with 2 batteries) is highly mis-leading. LG conducts the battery life tests without a load (i.e. without the carpet nozzle attached) AND at the lowest suction setting. In real-life practice, the floor nozzle is attached, and I suspect higher suction settings are used for those who can use higher suction settings. Nevertheless, even at the lowest suction setting, I get about 40 minutes per battery which is still longer than my older vacuum which got about 20 minutes, but on higher suction settings.
4) The cost. This is a very expensive vacuum. I got it “on sale” and with an extra $200 OFF coupon on top of that. Even with that it’s too expensive. My older, less expensive vacuums do just as good a job of vacuuming the carpet as this expensive LG model does.

Improvement suggestions:

1) Incorporating an adjustment for the height off the floor of the carpet nozzle. In my case, this would allow for greater suction use without causing the vacuum to shut off. I envision a display where a “settings” icon could be pressed and various choices such as Plush/Saxony, Frieze/Shaggy, Berber, Low Pile, and Hard Floor choices would display. Depending on the selection by the user, the carpet nozzle would raise or lower to the height best suited for the type of carpet you selected.
2) Replacing the battery bar indicator with a digital display so the user knows exactly what percent power remains, for example readout would indicate 25% (instead of 1 bar).
3) Increasing the length of the extension pipe by about 3-6 inches.
4) Inside the docking station doors, create ‘sleaves’ where one can store the instruction pamphlets.
5) Lower the cost.

Overall, I like LG products. I have an LG Microwave and an LG refrigerator and both are excellent. I like this LG vacuum as well. The automatic dust-bin emptying feature is very convenient, and the vacuum does a decent job vacuuming the carpet even on the lowest suction setting. But I feel this vacuum is currently over-priced and I suspect the price will drop when the novelty of the automatic dust-bin emptying feature wears off.

I’m pretty sure that my family feels like I have a vacuum problem. I honestly could not count how many vacuums I have owned in the last 10 years. I’m always seeking that perfect vacuum, that can suck every piece of dog hair out of the rug, actually cleans debris off of hardwood floors, without just pushing it around, is cordless with a good battery life, is not impossible to empty the debris bin, is environmentally friendly, is lightweight to push around, and has a slim enough rotator head to vacuum in tighter spaces. This vacuum does a decent job hitting most of my want boxes.

Probably one of the most impressive things about this vacuum is, the suction power. I was actually really shocked at how great of a job it does removing dog hair from a rug. It has two suction settings. When you press the Wi-Fi button which also has a minus sign on it, It will reduce the suction. This is great because, otherwise it would be impossible to use on some rugs. On the strong section setting, it gets bogged down vacuuming my washable area rug. However, when I turn it to the lower power setting, it does a great job on the larger rug. I will say that it doesn’t do as well on my small 2’x3′ washable rug. Even on the low suction setting, it will continuously suck the rug into the rotator head. It takes a lot more finesse to successfully vacuum that rug.

The maneuverability of this vacuum is great. I would say that it’s fairly lightweight, and it does a great job getting into tight places. For example, I am able to vacuum under my bench seating by laying the vacuum nearly horizontal with the ground. The rotator head has the capacity to lay completely flat with the ground, which is perfect for getting under furniture.

I don’t really feel the battery life is any better on this, than on my cordless Dyson. The manufacturer says that it can operate for up to 200 minutes, but I can’t imagine getting that long out of it. You would definitely need to have it on the lowest power setting. I typically get around 30 to 40 minutes on one battery charge. The nice thing about this vacuum is, it comes with a secondary battery. This battery charges independently on the top of the unit, which is perfect for extending your vacuuming time. My only concern with this setup is, that with the battery being continuously on the charger, it will destroy the batteries ability to hold a charge over time. It’s not really great for a battery to continuously be left on a charger. I wish the manufacturer had included a secondary department for storing the battery in, once it was charged.
The one thing that I feel is pretty spectacular about this vacuum is, how you empty the dust bin. First of all, on the vacuum itself, there is a genius compactor lever, that pushes the dirt to the base of the dustbin. This allows you to vacuum longer, without the dust clogging up the motor. I also love how easy it is to empty the dustbin. You simply put it onto the charging station, and press a trash button located on the top of the charging station. The station will then suck all the debris from the dustbin, and deposit it in a secondary vacuum bag. It does all this with very little fumes/dust making it’s way out. It’s supposed to be nearly 100% contained, but I can smell a faint bit of dust when I empty it. The vacuum bags do not seem very large, but they hold a deceptive amount of debris. I have been using the same bag for over a month, and the sensor still hasn’t alerted me to change the bag. I literally vacuum daily, and I am in complete shock at how long one bag has lasted. This is also my biggest issue with this vacuum. The fact that it still uses vacuum bags in this day and age seems ridiculous. I find this extremely wasteful, and not environmentally friendly. I wish I could say that the bag seems to be compostable or biodegradable, but that does not seem to be the case. They are made of fabric, and some pretty heavy duty plastic. The bags are very easy to change. They simply slide out, and a new one slides in. The OEM bags are a bit pricey at around $6 a piece, but there are some good alternative bags out there around, $3.5 a piece.

This vacuum also comes with some handy attachments. Probably the most interesting attachment is, the mopping attachment. You simply put two circular pads on the bottom of the unit, fill up the unit with water and detergent, if desired, and start cleaning. There is a button on the vacuum which allows the water to squirt out in front of the unit. The mopping head spinning circles, to remove that stubborn dirt. This portion is pretty much a fancier spray mop. It sprays out detergent just like my $20 Swiffer. The only difference is the rotating heads. This is great for small cleanups, but definitely not ideal for big jobs. It is nice that the cleaning pads are machine washable, so there is no waste there. The other attachments for the vacuum are pretty standard. There is a stick attachment for getting into crevices, a smaller rotating head for cleaning up pet hair on furniture, and an upholstery brush. I do love that these all fit nicely inside of the charging unit.

Overall, I really like this vacuum cleaner. I love that it has strong suction, and is able to clean the dog hair out of my rugs. I also love that it is cordless, and comes with a secondary battery to extend cleaning time. I however am not in love with the vacuum bags not being environmentally friendly. I do wish that they were manufactured in such a way, that they were at least biodegradable. I feel like the mopping function is neat, but I honestly could have lived without it. It’s not going to replace my traditional mop, but I suppose will be nice for small cleanups. Lastly, I appreciate that all of the cleaning tools are stored in the charging station. I feel like the manufacturer did a very good job designing this vacuum. With a few small tweaks, I honestly would not have had any issues with this vacuum.

I primarily have hard (tile and wood laminate) floors throughout, and this vacuum picks up everything in a single pass and even suctions dust and hair within a few inches, making corners easy to vacuum. It also lays pretty flat with a low clearance so easily cleans under furniture.

Best of all, the roller does not get hair tangled in it! I have a long haired shih tzu mix, so the absolute worst thing about vacuuming for me has always been cleaning tangled hair out of vacuum rollers, but that is not an issue with this vacuum. This roller stays clear and clean. The only thing I’ve seen stick in the bottom is pieces of tissue or paper, but even that is jettisoned up and out when placed on the dock and emptied.

The stick is shorter than usual, but I’m 5’2” so it didn’t bother me, but I was still relieved when I realized it’s adjustable making it comfortable for anyone to use.

It comes with one bag pre-installed plus two replacement bags. The side compartments hold most of the accessories. It’s smaller than I expected, with a slender, compact design so easily fits where I used to keep my manual sweeper.

The attachments/brushes click on and off easily. The batteries are supposed to last for up to an hour each; though that time is reduced on high, but there’s a backup battery, so I’ve yet to encounter any issues cleaning my whole house and car.

This all-in-one has made it much more efficient to vacuum and mop because it cleans in one pass making it less work while taking less time.

It’s not as loud as most vacuums. Emptying at the dock probably is just as loud, but that only lasts for about 30 seconds.

I removed my carpet and rugs because I was so frustrated with how hard it was to keep them clean. There always seemed to be specks left. I still have carpet in my bedroom closets, so I tried this vacuum and it easily cleans in one pass, leaving neat carpet lines. The suction is so strong it slightly lifts the carpet, which no other vacuum has done. The suction is too strong for my lightweight bathroom rugs, so it instantly starts to try to suck them up.

This vacuum/mop combo is feature rich. It even connects to LG’s app. The only thing that’d make it better is if it vacuumed and mopped itself, but it easily cuts the time needed to do these tasks in half, and anyone can do it since it’s lightweight and isn’t labor intensive requiring multiple passes. It does the elbow work for you. This is now my go to for keeping my floors clean.

I was so excited to get a stick vacuum and mop all in one, but that excitement died quickly. I have 3 cats 2 of which are ragdolls that are hairy little beast and two dogs that are short hair critters whose hair sheds alot and sticks everywhere. So when I use this vacuum it needs to be on a pretty high suction, on that high suction the battery dies really quick before one room is completed. It does come with two batteries but I can’t get my whole house done without recharging the batteries. I only have three rooms with carpet and a few area rugs to vacuum on high suction and my wood floors it does pick up well on a low to medium suction, my furniture needs a high suction. So that is an issue for me that the batteries die out quickly. But the vacuum does pick up hair and sandy dirt really well and thoroughly on medium to high suction.
The mop head, that thing is terrible. The vacuum sounds like it can’t handle too power it, the bad do not move well and the water/ cleaning solution does not spray out. I tried everything with this mop head with no luck, it didn’t work at all. We thought maybe I had made the cleaning solution to strong so I put only water in it. Nothing would spray out making this mop head pretty obsolete. It just did not work at all.
This vacuum is pretty lightweight and easy to push, the head can be a little wonky but it’s not horrible.
If the mop head actually worked and the battery lasted this would be a great piece of cleaning equipment. However, I could not get through more than two rooms when I needed to recharge BOTH batteries. Making the value pretty bad with this vacuum.
I love the LG brand for the most part but the batteries on their vacuums are lacking. I would prefer to have a choice of cord could be used or it be cordless.
This vacuum the mop head was useless and the vacuum head worked fabulous as well as the suction but the batteries dying out quickly made cleaning difficult waiting for batteries to recharge. The hands free emptying is quite awesome and super easy to use.
I don’t think I would order this again. I was excited for that mop head and it didn’t even function.

The LG CordZero is a great stick hand held vacuum system just by itself. But the secret sauce that makes it a great system is in the home base dock, that sucks collected dust from the hand held unit into a larger, bagged, base unit for later collection, and the attachments. The dump to base feature for emptying the handheld unit can be set to either auto, it does it every time the unit is docked, or to manual. The package includes four bags.

Compared to our past vacuum of this type the LG CordZero has more power, more endurance, more tools, plus a mopping function. The system comes with two rechargeable batteries. The system can charges both the battery on the stick, and another in a chamber at the top of the tower under a small door, at the same time. There is a washable pre-filter for the head, and an extra pre-filter is included.

The extension pipe is adjustable in length. Four length settings are available. The package includes five attachments: the dual floor max nozzle, the pet nozzle, combination tool, crevice tool, and the mopping set. The product package did not include the accessory bag and a couple of other tools, and this is noted in the manual. You can hang the dual floor max nozzle and the mopping attachment on the outside of the tower. Side doors open on the tower, providing storage space for the combo tool, the crevice tool, and more.

I used the mopping attachment on hardwood floors with impressive results. The mopping unit has a reservoir for mild soap solutions. A button on the handle initiates spray on the floor. The instructions in the manual are incorrect with regard to accessing the water inlet. The manual says you need to open the water inlet cap, but the water inlet has no separate cap. When you lift the tank from the top of the mopping unit, you can see the hole where it accepts fluid. Do not be confused by that little omission. Two extra sets of mop pads included, and the pads are washable. The mop set includes a small cup with a funnel for adding fluid. They thought of everything. When you are done mopping, remove the attachment and the mopping pads. Clean the pads, rinse the water tank, and let everything dry before storing.

All in all the LG CordZero is a fantastic system. As to whether it is worth the almost one-thousand dollar asking price is something you will have to decide. But it is clearly an outstanding example of this type of vacuum.

I’m a neat freak. I collect cleaning supplies and gadgets like Beanie Babies and I am always on the lookout for the latest and greatest. Well, it would seem that I can stop looking for a vacuum for quite a while. The LG CordZero All-In-One is an incredibly powerful and versatile machine. No matter what type of flooring you have to clean, the CordZero can clean it. The fact that it also comes with a great Auto-empty/charging base station, that also holds all the accessories, is pure gravy.

I was surprised when this thing showed up on my doorstep. The box is HUGE and weighs like 50 lbs (that’s according to the shipping label). Fortunately the box top lifts right off after cutting the straps and you have two over-boxes, one for the vacuum and one for the base station. It was great to see that while I was unpacking this thing, that LG quite thoughtfully packs in A LOT of spare consumables in the pack. You get several storage bags for the auto-empty system, extra filters, two sets of mop heads, and two batteries.

There is very little work to be done to set everything up since the base station is a complete unit and the vacuum really just has three parts (the vacuum, the extension tube, and whichever cleaning head you might need to use). All the extras can either be stored inside the base-station cubbies on either side or hanging off of the very cool, flip-around hooks on the side doors. The spare battery has a nice home under the top cover of the device which also has the indicators for the system.

Within minutes I was using the multi-floor cleaning head and going from carpet to hardwood and back to carpet again. The CordZero handled both types of floors quite nicely with the dual cleaning heads and an incredible amount of suction. Seriously, this thing was pulling itself along like a self-rolling lawnmower. It was just dying to clean. I have what many people would consider to be the current ‘king’ of the vacuum world, (at least in home vacuums) and it has been my favorite brand of vacuum for quite some time, but I think LG just came for the crown and snatched it quite firmly. That other brand won my OCD heart when it pulled up even more dirt from a recently vacuumed floor that my old vacuum couldn’t pull up. Well the CordZero just did the same to the former champ.

There are A LOT of things to really like about the LG CordZero:

1. Power: So. Much. POWER! Seriously, I had to dial it down a bit (another nice feature BTW, that you can adjust the power on the fly), to keep it from dragging me around the house.

2. The Dual-Floor Max Nozzle: I love that I don’t need to swap out floor heads when vacuuming the house and I don’t feel like I’m missing anything by not having dedicated floor heads.

3. Adjustable Extension Pipe: I was going to say that one of the few places that LG could improve to REALLY put the nail in the coffin of their biggest competitor would be to make the extension pipe adjustable, but what do you know, they actually DID, I just didn’t notice. This makes it SO MUCH easier to do stairs since I can shorten the pipe and not be several steps up or down to make things work.

4. The Auto Empty System: It’s actually quite fun to dock the vacuum on the base-station and hear it spin up and then catch the ‘Whomp’ of the dirt ball being sucked into the disposable bag inside.

5. The Dual Battery System: Each battery can last quite a while at moderate setting but if you are going all out at Max-Power, you will suck through those batteries pretty quickly (about 20 minutes by my count), but the secondary battery that stays charged in the dock makes for an easy swap-out and continuation of the power clean.

6. The Accessories: LG gives a great selection of additional tools and supplies with the CordZero. The only accessory I think I’m going to order from them is the flexible hose extension. And that’s only a nice to have, I have pretty much everything I need right out of the box.

7. The Ergonomics: I love the handle on this CordZero and the on/off button. I’ve come to really hate the handle and trigger mechanism on my other vacuum and have come to value a nice grip and simple push-button on/off.

There are a couple things that are just a bit ‘Meh’ but aren’t really bad about the CordZero:

1. The Power: Yes, while the power is good, you REALLY need to pay attention to what you are cleaning and which cleaning head you are using. The core vacuum and the pet nozzle are NOT to be trifled with! LG warns you in the manual that it should not be used on a surprisingly long list of surfaces but they aren’t kidding. That rubber cleaning head will take fur up but it will also start stripping fibers from the surface if you aren’t careful.

2. The Mop Nozzle: I was really hoping that this was going to be as stellar as the vacuum, and while it is good, it doesn’t seem to be that much better than some of the low-powered mop kits. It DOES save you from having to scrub since the rotating heads take care of that, but you almost have to fight it to get it to go where you want (the counter-rotating heads don’t keep things as stable as I would assume they would). Also, LG doesn’t give you any recommendation on a cleaning solution to use so I’m not sure if the cleaner I mixed in was actually the best to use. All I know is that I cleaned sections of both my tile and ‘wood’ flooring and it doesn’t look appreciably cleaner than the non-cleaned parts. Again, that may be because my floors aren’t that dirty, but still.

3: The Bin Size: With the CordZero being so powerful, you are going to picking up a lot of dirt and debris. Unfortunately, that is going to fill up the bin pretty quickly. LG does give you a nifty ‘tamp-down’ lever to give you some additional room in the bin but still, you can fill it up in no time. Granted, it is a switch off for bin-size and portability, and since the a quick docking cleans the bin in no time without having to take off the cleaning head, it is kind of a non-issue.

All-in-all, I’m ecstatic with my new LG CordZero vacuum. It is the new king of my cleaning tools and it will probably stay there for quite some time!

The ease of use, appearance & maneuverability of this thing blows my mind. It’s quality design thru and thru. I’ve never seen a vacuum that makes my family want to vacuum but here we are. It’s super easy to clean & has a super powerful suction on a variety of surfaces.

There is a reason it is so expensive. You really need to understand all of its built-in items and the quality of the Brush Head. This brush head design is the best out there above ALL Others! I am only referring to this model, not the less expensive units.

Dual Battery and auto empty blows the doors off the Tineco as well. Nothing gets stuck on the Filter during the Self Clean.

I have had this vacuum for three days now and REALLY like it! However, each battery only lasts about 20 to 30 minutes. The suction is excellent and I like the handle on it rather than a flat wand. LG should not advertise a battery life of HOURS when each battery lasts much less! I have a small home and I use it mainly for high traffic areas, so it suits me pretty well. But someone expecting more battery for a longer cleaning will be disappointed.

UPDATE: Still like the vacuum a lot. However, I decided to try to get extra batteries for it. I am not sure where the other reviewers have purchased additional batteries for THIS particular model. The ones offered by Amazon here look like they would fit and indeed say they fit the A9 series vacuums. Beware; the battery for THIS vacuum (A949KTMS) is ONLY LG EAC64809401. None of the batteries offered by Amazon will fit. In fact, I am having difficulty finding them anywhere, even LG. FYI!!
