    We are pretty happy with this printer so far. Easy set up but had a few quirks getting it to select the right tray as default but got it worked out. Print quality is good but the colors are a little off and no easy way to adjust to our taste… it has a color correction in the settings but no user adjustments are available… prints a bit darker and yellows come out a bit orange, overall not as bright as the image… haven’t tried the copy mode. Hoping it holds up better than the inkjets.

    Wireless printing works fine but be warned that wireless scanning does not work reliably on Apple Mac computers. I tried scanner set up with both a newish MacBook Air and an old iMac, and the scanner unit was either wildly sporadic or did not work at all. This is apparently a known problem with Canon that I wish I knew before purchasing, since wireless scanning on my old Brother MFC worked perfectly with all my Macs. Please fix your software, Canon.

    UPDATE: after lots of trial and error I found a solution – a wired Ethernet connection to the router. After you connect an Ethernet cable from the printer to the router/switch use the Canon MF Scan Utility to find the printer on the network and input the IP address versus the Bonjour name: this is more stable but it does require you to establish a static IP address for the printer on your router. This Ethernet setup solved all my stability problems and has the additional benefit of establishing a constant, two-way connection between my Mac and the printer/scanner, e.g. I can scan directly from the scanner even when my Mac is asleep because it will wake up to receive the scan and place it into a Dropbox folder.
