Summary of Customer Reviews

The BenQ MOBIUZ EX270QM 1ms 27″ 240Hz QHD Gaming Monitor has received a mix of highly positive and some critical feedback. Users have praised its vibrant color quality, high refresh rate, and suitability for fast-paced gaming, particularly FPS games. Many customers mention the superior smoothness in gameplay, and several highlight the ease of assembly and user-friendly interface. The monitor’s built-in speakers and convenient remote control are also often noted as positive features.

However, some customers have reported issues with backlight bleeding and overly saturated colors, while a few have encountered defects such as screen flickering or dead pixels. Despite these complaints, many users are satisfied with the overall performance and consider the product to be a long-term investment for both gaming and general use.

PROS

  • High Refresh Rate (240Hz): The 240Hz refresh rate is frequently praised for providing smooth gameplay, especially in competitive FPS games. A user mentioned: “The high refresh rate combined with 1440 just makes everything so buttery smooth.”

  • Vibrant Colors and Picture Quality: Many users love the vibrant color and image quality of the monitor, making it stand out for gaming and media consumption. One customer said, “The image, colors, darks/blacks, lights/whites… everything pops!”

  • Easy Assembly and Setup: The monitor is noted for its quick and simple setup process, with a user stating, “By far the easiest thing I’ve ever assembled!”

  • Remote Control and Built-in Features: The inclusion of a remote and built-in speakers is considered a bonus. “The thing even comes with a remote so you don’t have to fidget with a physical interface,” said a customer.

  • Great for Both Gaming and TV Use: The monitor is versatile and works well with gaming consoles and as a TV. A customer shared, “I have it connected to my PC and Xbox, and it works great for both.”

CONS

  • Backlight Bleeding: Multiple users have complained about noticeable backlight bleeding, which detracts from the overall experience. One customer commented, “The bleed from the backlight was excessive. I would expect some, but not this much from a high-end monitor.”

  • Saturated Colors: Some users find the colors too vibrant, especially reds and oranges, making them unnatural. A user mentioned, “The colors on this monitor are way too saturated. No amount of adjustments could fix this for me.”

  • Defective Units (Screen Flickering/Dead Pixels): A few customers have received defective units, with issues like flickering screens or dead pixels. One user said, “Got the monitor just to find out that half the screen flickers.”

  • Price: While the monitor is considered high-quality, some customers feel that similar or better options are available at a lower price. A reviewer noted, “If you’re going to spend this much money, you can do better.”

  • Limited Adjustability: A taller customer mentioned that they wished the monitor’s height adjustment was more flexible. “I wish it would raise just a tad higher,” they said.

Who Should Buy?

The BenQ MOBIUZ EX270QM is an excellent choice for gamers, particularly those who enjoy fast-paced FPS games where high refresh rates are crucial for a smooth experience. Its vibrant color accuracy and overall picture quality make it equally suitable for casual media consumption and productivity tasks. If you’re someone who values high-quality visual performance, ease of use, and built-in features like speakers and a remote, this monitor is a good investment. However, if you are sensitive to backlight bleeding or prefer more natural color tones, you might want to explore other options.

Do Users Recommend This Product?

Yes, most users recommend the BenQ MOBIUZ EX270QM, particularly for its gaming performance and image quality. Users who have given positive reviews highlight the smooth gameplay, vibrant colors, and overall ease of use. However, some caution that the monitor’s backlight bleeding and color saturation issues may not appeal to everyone. Those who encountered defective units were understandably frustrated, but for the majority, the monitor’s pros outweigh its cons, making it a solid option in the high-end gaming monitor market.

Upgraded from a Samsung G5 144hz curved monitor, and just wow. This is the best monitor I’ve ever owned hands down, and I’ve only had it a day. Been playing all day and night, this has rejuvenated my gaming soul.
The image, colors, darks/black, lights/whites.. everything pops! The high refresh rate combined with 1440 just makes everything so buttery smooth and cripy. Even the text is easier to read. Menu is very easy to navigate so you can set that part up pretty quick. MAKE SURE you update the monitors driver from the benQ site so you get full functionality.

Will easily own this monitor for the next 4-5 years, well worth the value. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The best monitor I have owned

I play a great deal of FPS games, the twitchier the better a lot of them. The first monitor I purchased firsthand for myself, maybe 9 or so years ago now, was SCEPTRE branded. I had no idea who they were, but the monitor I got was great. After this I followed it up with an AOC monitor, which was simply put in two words; godawful terrible. It had issues, it was finicky, and it eventually died on me mid game. Next I eventually owned an Alienware monitor. This was good, until I found out that there were Dell branded monitors of the EXACT SAME QUALITY, but several hundred dollars cheaper. I tried Samsung, and Samsung has the absolute worst QA for their products I’ve ever experienced. Everything from an HDMI connection to just VESA mounting the things results in at least one breakage.

Eventually I decided to cave. I got a BenQ monitor. And, wow, this thing is just simply better. The image quality, the lack of ghosting or smearing, the color accuracy, the adjustability. The thing even comes with a remote so you don’t have to fidget with a physical interface, it’s that honed in on what it offers. That said, the price tag speaks for itself. If you were going to spend this much money on a monitor, to be totally honest with you, you can do better. You can find something with better specs, you can find something bigger, something better looking. While this is a very premium monitor, this is a field of technology that has been rapidly changing for the last 25 years and will continue to do so.

IF YOU WANT THIS, spend the money, but do so knowing that in 2-3 years you can spend the exact same amount of money again on something that’s probably twice as good. This is the knowledge I had on my purchase, and I have been extremely satisfied. The only possible change I would make to it is a greater axis for rotating the monitor itself on a stand, but if I want that so badly I can always get a third party mount for it too.

100% garbage don’t Buy!!!

This is line showed up only one month after buying it I’m extremely upset with this. The performance doesn’t even matter when this happens a month after getting it.

Backlight bleed

Not sure why a high end gaming monitor had built in speaker but it adds to the weight. Over all the picture was great BUT the bleed from the backlight was excessive. I would expect some but not this much from a high end monitor. My current cheap monitor, less than half the price of this, bleeds way less. Returned it.

Don’t buy simply because it’s an issue using in game. The panel is nice for content consumption but for gaming it just wasn’t doing what advertised.

Decent monitor - but colors are way too saturated. Had to return

The quality of this monitor is good. The sound speakers are very convenient and one of the best for in built pc. However, the colors on this monitor are way too saturated. Reds and oranges are too vibrant. Some may like this, but no other monitor is as saturated as this. Unfortunately this was a deal breaker for me and I had to return. No amount of adjustments in settings and nvidia control panel were enough to fix this for me.

Great for gaming and TV viewing.

I have had this monitor since March of 2023 and I have it connected to my PC and Xbox. I use my PC as my TV and this monitor works great for all of the above. Highly recommended.

So I’ve been using a LG Ultragear 1440p 165hz monitor for about a year, this is definitely a step up! Amazing color and brightness, sweet remote with controls on monitor for backup, by far the easiest thing i’ve ever assembled! Now my only complaint is I’m a bit taller of a guy and wish it would raise/sit just a tad higher but it’s ok, this is super picky but not sure why theres a tiny gap on the bottom bezel between it and the screen (see photos)

A lot of backlight bleeding

Superb monitor color, nice time response and integrated speakers… but BenQ’s quality control is really bad, feedback bleed is too annoying.
