– Horrible dark vignetting at the edges regardless of brightness, HDR, or local contrast settings.
– Poor viewing angle makes the screen look dim except for the exact area you’re looking at immediately in front of your eyes.
– Matte image coating is too intense and ruins any sharpness gains the high retina PPI provides.
No idea how this could be considered usable for professional work or how Rtings gave this monitor such high scores. The Apple Studio Display image is far, far superior. Even my cheapo $300 LG 27UK500-B (4K 27″) has better overall brightness, barely any matte sparkle, and zero edge vignetting… all for a third of the cost.
I returned this monitor immediately.

This was a highly rated monitor for use with a Mac Mini so I bought one.
Despite hours of trying it simply will not display an image. It will display HDMI cable output fine but refuses to sync with my mini
Then there’s ASUS tech support- despite opening a trouble ticket and getting the problem elevated they never called me back. Not to mention the whole offshore support issue. -

Although this is caiman verified I did have to adjust the magenta hue a little bit. But after that was completed, this is by far the best monitor I have ever owned. The higher contrast ratio compared to the ones “below” this makes a huge difference. This is comparable to an iMac display which I think they look fantastic but it actually looks better and more detailed. If you want to use a mac studio or a pc, this is a fantastic choice if accurate colors matter to you.
