Pros & Cons
Pros
- Exceptional Motion Clarity: The native 300Hz refresh rate and ELMB mode provide incredibly fluid motion and responsiveness, which users find superior for fast-paced competitive gaming compared to lower refresh rate displays.
- Vibrant and Accurate Colors: Reviews frequently highlight the excellent out-of-the-box color calibration and vibrancy, with many users considering it one of the best non-OLED IPS panels for both gaming and productivity.
- Robust Ergonomic Stand: The monitor features a high-quality stand that allows for extensive adjustments, including height, tilt, swivel, and rotation, providing a comfortable and customizable setup.
Cons
- Frequent Quality Control Issues: A significant number of reviewers reported receiving units with dead or stuck pixels, as well as noticeable backlight bleed and IPS glow in the corners of the panel.
- Poor Long-Term Reliability: Multiple users experienced total hardware failure, where the monitor stopped powering on or displaying images after only a few weeks or months of use.
- Inconvenient Stand Design: The stand's rear stabilizing leg is criticized for pushing the monitor too far forward on the desk, and the large footprint can be intrusive for users with limited desk space.

Sweet spot
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Ari M August 7, 2023Review source: AmazonSo far so good. Use for both productivity and gaming. If your card can handle high frames then this monitor will be worth it. No dead or stuck pixels, panel has no noticeable backlight bleed, and factory sRGB color tuning is great. I only adjusted contrast, gamma, and brightness to my liking, and set overdrive setting to level 4. Very happy so far and will use for many years until OLED technology keeps advancing to be worthwhile upgrade for productivity work.

Best monitor I've ever used
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Brandon Buhr August 3, 2023Review source: Amazon300hz is very smooth and responsive on this monitor, colors are good and contrast is decent for an IPS. No backlight bleeding or dead pixels, just some minor IPS glow which is normal for all IPS monitors. Would highly recommend for anyone who plays high framerate games.

Great for Gaming
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Kegan Ramsey-Hess July 29, 2023Review source: AmazonRunning with a 7800x3D and 7900 XT. Monitor looks great and I have no display/pixel issues so far after running for about two weeks. OSD controls offer mostly the standard feature set for a gaming monitor. I don’t have color calibration hardware but the out of the box calibration looks good enough to my untrained eye. It has all the features I wanted in a premium monitor without needing to spend $750+. Anyone who has the money to spend and doesn’t want an OLED would probably do well picking this up.

Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Cheney July 27, 2023Review source: AmazonGreat picture quality and motion clarity in ELMB Mode (Not ELMB-SYNC). Running at 300hz (Clarity 4 for night and Clarity 3 for day).
Note: When you turn off monitor or it goes to sleep elmb may turn off as well.

Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Justin July 17, 2023Review source: AmazonThe picture is beautiful! With this new monitor the lag I had playing Diablo 4 on my old monitor is gone. Game play is smooth.
One downside: I can only get to 144hz refresh rate, unlike the advertised 300hz. -

Great gaming monitor
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Amazon Customer June 23, 2023Review source: AmazonSome minor caveats buts overall a great gaming monitor. No dead pixels. 1 stuck pixel tho. Some of the descriptions are misleading from asus. Hardware unboxed has a great review of this monitor. No hdr hardware only software driven. 1ms response time is unuasable. No gsync hardware only software driven. For the price i would have expected a little more. But so far no ghosting that ive noticed, no blurring that i noticed. Games are super smooth. Would reccomend for gaming. Good monitor. So it gets 4 stars. Not perfect but i like it.

300hz 1440p 1ms beast
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.James June 8, 2023Review source: AmazonThe 4 stars is because with a price tag of $650 USD I would like to see the RGB features Asus usually includes with it’s high end gaming monitors. $650 isn’t a mid range dollar amount to be spending on a display… Holding out on the RGB feels like Asus is pretend like this isn’t a premium product lol
