- High-Quality Print and Scan Results: Reviewers consistently praise the printer for producing crisp, professional text and vibrant colors on various media, including glossy photos, stickers, and heavy cardstock.
- Versatile Media Handling: The device features multiple paper sources, including a high-capacity front cassette and a rear tray, allowing users to keep different paper types loaded simultaneously for diverse projects.
Cons

- Slow Operational Performance: The printer is noted for being slow to wake from sleep mode, having a sluggish touchscreen interface, and taking a long time to process and print documents, especially in high-quality mode.

No impressed
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Amazon Customer August 17, 2025Review source: AmazonPrint quality is good. setup is timely and not easy. Scanner cannot decide when it will and wont work, but more times than not, it wont. find the connectivity setting, because it will go into sleep mode and not come out. I just turned it on 24/7. This is easily the most obnoxious printer I have owned in 20+ years.

CANON MAXIFY GX 4020 stinks!
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Martha Johnson August 7, 2025Review source: AmazonI bought the MAXIFY GX 4020 because it was recommended online. It was and is a NIGHTMARE. I could not set it up. It didn’t respond the way the insrtructfions said it would. I finally gave up and hired a professional, who took 2.5 hous because it is so complicated. It won’t allow printing of more than one page at a time. It won’t feed at all. Every page to copy has to be put on the glass. It prints, but the other functions are unsatisfactory. I’m going to give it away and go back to HP.

Don't buy this printer
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.PNS August 5, 2025Review source: AmazonPurchased printer in Nov 2023, and also purchased Asurion 4 yr protection plan, which fortunately was a good thing. I didn’t use printer heavily until spring 2025 and then found that it was unable to consistently and accurately print double-sided sheets. It would print maybe 2 pages ok, then the next page would be about an inch at the bottom. And then it might wait a few minutes and print the whole 6 page document successfully. Sometimes it would grab two pieces of paper and print on one side of one and one side of another. This would vary with number of pages, and whether it would print both sides. Unpredictable! A headache! Asurion asked me to send them the printer and gave me free shipping label, but I had to find a box and package it up myself and take it to UPS. Within a few days it came back with the same problem, with the first document i tried to print! I called Asurion again and it took Asurion time to respond back to me on the phone as I wanted a refund at that time, but they said I had to send it back again, but this time I had kept the box they sent it to me in and used that one. I also sent a very detailed description of the problem, and within a week they said they would give me a full refund as an Amazon Gift Card. So, thankfully I paid the $50 for Asurion, but the refund was not in cash back. I will say print quality was very good, but the functioning was not.

Not worth the money
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Veronica Rubio August 3, 2025Review source: AmazonI bought this as a gift for my mom. Unfortunately, she did not install it until after the return date had passed. The printer constantly disconnects from the Wi-Fi or any electronic device that’s connected to it. It takes several tries to reconnect to it. Color quality is good but value for money is not. I suggest you spend more on something that’s going to actually function correctly. Prints slow.

Love My Canon
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.WayneW August 1, 2025Review source: BestbuyThis Canon is the most economical printer I’ve found. The ink is much less expensive and it seems to last forever. It’s is very easy to maintain. The only negative I have is that it automatically turns off when not in use for a period of time. Because I share the printer and sometimes print from other rooms I would prefer to have the choice to leave it on all the time.

Not for Cricut users
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Deborah A. Newman July 15, 2025Review source: AmazonIf you are a Cricut user stay away from this printer. I could not get the back feeder to work when using Design space. Neither Cannon or Cricut could figure out why. Save yourself a lot of time and frustration!

not made for the US market DO NOT PURCHASE!!!!
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.BB July 7, 2025Review source: AmazonThis particular printer was meant for the Canadian market – not the USA market. Therefore, I cannot register for the warranty, nor can I get tech suport for it. That’s why one buyer had to use ethernet cable (What a blast from the past.) I was promised that the seller or Amazon would refund my money and I did not have to return the item. But the end result is I have to box up this monster and return it….and wait until the seller receives it. If he will not refund me then the Amazon A to Z guarantee will send me a full refund. I’ve spent many hours in chats and much frustration.
