Pros & Cons
Pros
- Exceptional Portability: The printer is highly valued for its small footprint and lightweight design, allowing it to fit easily into gear bags, briefcases, and even under car seats for travel.
- High Print Quality: Users consistently report that the device produces clear, sharp, and professional-looking documents and photos, often exceeding expectations for a portable inkjet unit.
- Versatile Mobile Printing: The printer supports direct wireless printing from smartphones and tablets via the Canon app and AirPrint, enabling users to print on the go without a traditional network.
Cons
- Unreliable Connectivity: A significant number of reviewers experienced frequent connection drops, difficult WiFi setup, and software that feels outdated or requires constant reconfiguration.
- Expensive Battery Requirement: While marketed as portable, the battery pack necessary for cordless operation is sold separately, which many customers found to be a misleading and costly hidden expense.
- High Ink Consumption: Several users noted that the printer 'eats' ink quickly and that the cartridges are quite small, leading to frequent replacements and higher long-term operating costs.

Insane. I just need to connect to my phone and print but I guess it’s an impossible task for this printer.
The size is perfect, but it’s so hard to connect. I’ve been at it for many hours. -

difficult to connect
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.JC August 1, 2025Review source: AmazonThe printer software that you have to download is very very complicated and difficult and extremely unprofessional. Blows my mind that in 2025 they put out software from 1997 seemingly. Very difficult to set up printer, would not buy this again. Stay away.

Compact, Reliable, and Surprisingly Capable for a Mobile Printer
Incentivized Incentivized review: The reviewer received a benefit for sharing feedback.Eric July 25, 2025Review source: AmazonAs someone who works both from home and on the move as a Realtor and content creator, this little Canon printer has turned out to be a real asset. It’s lightweight, super compact, and actually fits right in my gear bag alongside my laptop—makes it easy to bring to open houses, client meetings, or even a coffee shop if I need to print on the fly.
Setup was fast and straightforward. I normally prefer hardwired connections, but the WiFi printing on this worked smooth. I also picked up the optional battery pack (sold separate), which is really handy when there’s no outlet around. For example, being able to print contracts or flyers in the car or at a remote site—huge bonus.
Print quality is very solid for the size. You’re not going to get gallery-level photo prints, but for documents, color flyers, and general use, it looks sharp and professional. Some darker tones aren’t super deep, and photo prints have a little bit of grain, but it’s more than enough for 90% of what I need day to day. There’s also a silent mode if you need it to run quietly.
It comes with black and color cartridges to get started, though they’re on the smaller side. Good news is there are plenty of affordable third-party options available right here on Amazon, which makes upkeep a lot easier on the wallet.
The OLED screen is a nice touch—it shows ink levels and keeps the controls simple. Only thing I’d say is the price feels a little high, but you’re paying for portability and versatility here, and it definitely delivers on both.
If you need a truly portable printer that can actually keep up with your workflow, this one’s a solid choice. I’ve already used it more than I thought I would, and it’s earned a permanent spot in my tech bag.
