The box had been opened, there was a small dent on the top of the product, and the grounds basket had a few drops of water in it. It works. Coffee is ok. Comes out a bit too hot. We finally found the perfect coffee maker

Makes great quality coffee using either whole bean or can use grounds, Great value and it does it all. Small cups or fill a to go 20 oz mug. You can also choose various brew strengths for the taste or caffeine you desire making this a very functional coffee maker, you can also make hot or cold brew. The stainless steel and black design is great, makes it match our other appliances.

Perfect Pour-Over Style Coffee

The temperature of the water and speed of the drip are regulated tightly to brew the coffee without adding bitter or acrid notes like classic drip machines. The beans being freshly ground for each cups also gives maximum freshness. Unlike my espresso machine, this works with flavored beans, so you can get fresh ground flavored coffee as well. The hopper and water capacity are decent and the noise level is not bad during the grinding phase.
Cleaning the grounds is as simple as running the reusable filter under a sink or disposing of a paper filter if you prefer. The machine will not let you forget and run coffee through old grounds, which is nice because I’ve already forgotten to do it.
The only thing I don’t like is that the buttons do not have proper labels on them. The blue lights indicate which options you are selecting, but the options are written in white paint on shiny reflective stainless steel, making them hard to read. It isn’t a big deal once you memorize which blue light means what just by counting how many spaces down it is, but the labels should really also be backlit.

This brews a much hotter and stronger coffee then the K cups. I was happy that the clean up is much easier then other coffee makers. Just take out the hopper and rinse out and your good for the next time. The 48 oz water reservoir is handy so you don’t have to put in water each time you use it. The grinder can hold 1/2 lb. of beans, so you always have beans ready to brew. I also like that you can still use coffee grinds in place of the beans which I do that as well. This has been such a good coffee maker that I don’t really use my K cup anymore.

I have explored all its features, including grinding and brewing, making coffee with loose grounds, brewing over ice, and experimenting with different strengths and cup sizes.
The built-in water reservoir holds a generous amount of water, allowing you to brew several days worth of coffee before you need to refill it, as indicated by a reminder light. Additionally, the bean hopper also has a reminder light to signal when the beans are running low.
One drawback is that it requires a considerable amount of beans to make a single 12-ounce cup of coffee. However, I often brew a second cup using the used grounds and still achieve a satisfying strength.
I appreciate the stability offered by the adjustable cup tray and the gold filter basket. But the best feature is the self-grinding mechanism.
I enjoy having coffee made from freshly ground beans without the need to grind them myself, as the process is completely automatic. The machine is easy to use, and I’ve found myself drinking more coffee instead of soda than I used to.
It fits perfectly on my coffee center shelving and looks great doing it!! With the quality of this machine and my prior experience with the Cuisinart name, I expect it to last many years.
