    Makes pretty good coffee and is easy to use. Would’ve given it 4+ stars but unfortunately the portafilter that this machine comes with is cheaply made and has a a liner made with black plastic that comes in direct contact with the hot espresso. I’d say do your own research about heating black plastic up with an acidic substance such as coffee but according to several studies heating plastic, black plastic especially is supposed to be terrible for you. What I’ve done is purchased a $40 dollar portafilter that is supposed to fit my machine. Fingers crossed that it fits. But yeah it’s a 3 star machine.

    Why did you pick this product vs others?:
    There’s something wrong with the portafilter – everytime I touch it I get this black stuff all over my hands. Also the portafilter I got does bot look like the one in the photos – in the photos it is stainless steel, and mine had a film over it

    For the $150 I paid for this unit, it delivers an excellent draw of expresso with a thick crema. The pressure gauge on the unit is a nice touch, assuring you are getting the required pressure. The milk frother works well and without fuss. The controls are simple and operating the machine is easy and intuitive. If you are fitting this unit in a tight space, be advised that the unit’s height is a bit taller than advertised, as shown in my photos, coming in at 12.25 inches; i.e., a quarter inch taller than stated in the description. As to build quality, it’s hard to say. It seems well built, but it’s all about the components, and for that, only time will tell. All I can say at this point is that the machine performs well, works and looks as advertised, and seems well built enough for the price paid. I’ll revise this review if build quality disappoints after some reasonable use.

    After purchasing the DeLonghi Stilosa and returning it because the espresso was lousy, no matter what I tried (or i just got a dud machine), i decided to try the Linea, but since it was brand new i waited to check out reviews when there’d be a decent number. By then, the price went up by $100!!!! However, i.purchased during a 4th of July sale that made it only $20 higher than original price, and i couldn’t be happier with this machine. Great espresso, nice crema, good flavor and hot enough. And the macine is beautiful- actually nicer in “person” than in the photo.
