Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Easy to Use and Clean: Many reviewers highlight the machine's straightforward operation, intuitive controls, and simple setup, making it ideal for beginners. It is also frequently noted for being easy to clean, including removable parts like the drip tray and water tank.
  • Quality Espresso and Crema: Customers consistently praise the machine for producing delicious, rich, and strong espresso with a thick, velvety crema, often comparing the quality favorably to coffee shop beverages. The 15-bar Italian pump is mentioned as contributing to optimal extraction.
  • Compact and Attractive Design: The espresso machine is frequently complimented for its sleek, modern, and compact design, which fits well on countertops without taking up much space. Its stainless steel and chrome finish contribute to an appealing aesthetic.

Cons

  • Inconsistent Temperature and Slow Cycling: Several users report that the espresso is not hot enough, and the milk frother may not heat milk adequately. There are also complaints about long wait times when switching between brewing and steaming functions, or when making multiple drinks back-to-back, as the machine can overheat or require a cooling cycle.
  • Plastic Taste/Smell and Material Concerns: A significant number of reviews mention a persistent toxic plastic smell or taste emanating from the water tank or other plastic components. Concerns are raised about hot coffee passing through plastic and the use of aluminum in the portafilter instead of stainless steel.
  • Frother and Portafilter Issues: The milk frother is often criticized for producing large, airy bubbles instead of fine microfoam, or for being difficult to control and use effectively. The portafilter is noted for being cheaply made, having a small diameter (51mm) which limits accessories, leaving wet coffee pucks, or being challenging to lock into the machine.

  1. Café flojo y sin intensidad

Unfortunately, this coffee maker didn’t meet my expectations. The coffee it brews is quite weak, with a very mild, almost watery taste. On Saturday (or when using the “Saturday brew” mode, if that’s what it’s called), the coffee lacked body and aroma, as if there wasn’t enough pressure or strength in the brewing process.

I think this machine could work well for someone who isn’t too picky about coffee flavor or who prefers a lighter, more American-style coffee. It’s simple and easy to use. But for those of us who enjoy a stronger coffee with character and a well-defined taste, this machine falls short.

Honestly, it wasn’t to my liking. I prefer options that allow me to adjust the intensity and achieve a more powerful extraction.

I had been eyeing some of the pricier espresso machines, but what kept me from purchasing one was the size of the bigger ones. They didn’t fit in my space.
I watched many reviews and after many searches, this is the one I settled on. I am so glad to have made the right choice. This machine is a dream! If it broke tomorrow, I’d purchase a new one. Super easy to use, well made, looks beautiful and impressive, has a much larger water tank than other machines I’ve owned in the past, so you’re not constantly filling it up, and it doesn’t have extra unnecessary buttons or a fake pressure gauge. Each button has a function.

I use soy milk or other plant milks and it works amazingly well. I can feel the milk pitcher heat up in my hand within seconds. The frother has two settings, one for heating milk and when pulled down, for frothing. It makes it easy to control how hot or cold you want your cappuccino or latte to be. Super easy and perfect temperature milk each time. Along with my Lavazza Super Crema Whole Bean Coffee, Medium Espresso, I have not had a bad cup of coffee since.
I stopped going out for coffee, what I have at home is much better than what I can get at the best coffee shops.
    It’s worth every penny.

Love, love, love it!! The poor Keurig (pictured here, posing unwillingly next to the DeLonghi) has been neglected after two years of twice-daily use since the DeLonghi arrived!

Easy to use, to keep clean, and looks SO BEAUTIFUL, too!

Nice little machine. Good looking machine with rather cheap “foreign” parts… but makes a tasty shot of espresso! I can’t wait to have my family over and make them drinks! Especially my coffee loving nieces! I’ve been researching good beans and learning that the key to a great espresso is fresh roasted beans. Looks great on the counter and doesn’t take up much space!
    *update*
After a few months of practicing, upgrading my grinder and watching countless YouTube videos I have definitely been able to enhance my experience with this machine. The only downfall that I have found with this machine is the smaller diameter (51mm) portafilter, which limits the amount of accessories that can fe found like locking dosing funnels and other items. The steam panarello is ok and I can make decent foam.
Another downfall is the lack of a solenoid 3 way valve. This means that when the shot is finished the puck remains pressurized and still drips. You have to wait for the pressure to slowly release before you can remove the portafilter. This can really slow you down if you’re pulling back to back shots.
