The audio and video constantly fall out of sync, the screen freezes regularly, and the apps frequently reboot and kick us back to the home screen. The remote was another headache—it barely worked at all.
Thankfully, Amazon’s support team was fantastic and helped me return it!

HOWEVER, the fire os is difficult. The settings categories are ambiguous in some cases, and you have to sort through several to find the adjustments you may be looking for. With enough patience you can do it though. The one setting you cannot change is “auto power off”. It is set at 13.45 minutes and cannot be changed. No way, no how. I adjusted every option available. It’s frustrating if you step away and come back to find the tv is off, and you’ve lost your place in whatever you were watching. After research I found that Amazon has known about this for a long time but has not corrected it. I found this on the Amazon support site https://amazonforum.my.site.com/ca/s/question/0D56Q00009OKuB2SAL/how-do-i-disable-the-inactivity-setting-so-the-fire-tv-doesnt-keep-turning-off?language=en_CA.I’ll keep the tv for now, but am seriously considering returning it.
