Customer Reviews Summary

The HP OfficeJet Pro 9135e Wireless All-In-One Inkjet Printer has generally received positive feedback from users, with most reviews highlighting its ease of use, print quality, and versatile features. Many users appreciate its fast printing speed and clear, vibrant colors, which make it suitable for both home and office use. Setup is often described as straightforward, with several reviewers mentioning the quick configuration process. Users have found the printer easy to connect across multiple devices, whether it’s computers, tablets, or smartphones, enhancing convenience for personal and business tasks alike.

However, the printer is not without its flaws. A significant number of users reported issues with maintaining Wi-Fi connectivity, which can be frustrating, especially for those relying on the wireless functionality for frequent use. A few users also mentioned difficulties during the setup process, particularly when installing software or connecting the printer to certain devices. Moreover, the printer is relatively noisy during operation, which some users found distracting in a quiet home or office environment. HP Smart, the companion app for the printer, has received mixed reviews, with some users appreciating its capabilities while others found it to be a marketing gimmick with limited practical value.

Despite these issues, the overall consensus is that the HP OfficeJet Pro 9135e is a solid choice for those looking for a reliable and versatile printer. Users praised the auto document feeder, two paper trays, and the high print quality for both color and black-and-white documents. For those needing a printer that supports mobile printing, scans, and copying, this model is recommended, although it’s worth noting that setup and connectivity might require some patience. Additionally, users highlighted the intuitive touchscreen and compact design, making it a practical addition to both home offices and small businesses. The printer’s energy efficiency was also mentioned positively, with several users noting that it consumes less power compared to older models.

PROS

  • Fast Printing Speed: Users praised the printer for its quick printing capabilities, making it efficient for both home and small office use. “This thing is fast! It saves me so much time when printing large documents,” mentioned one user. The fast printing speed also makes it ideal for those who frequently print multi-page documents, ensuring that large print jobs are completed in a timely manner.
  • Good Paper Capacity: The printer has ample paper capacity with its two trays, allowing for more efficient management of different types of print media. “I love the fact that I don’t need to refill the paper trays as often,” noted a reviewer. The dual trays are particularly beneficial for those who need to switch between different paper types frequently, adding to the printer’s overall convenience.
  • Easy Setup: Many users found the setup process to be simple and straightforward, even for those who are not very tech-savvy. “I was able to set it up from my phone, which is an added bonus,” said one user, praising the intuitive setup experience. The step-by-step instructions provided in the manual were also commended, helping even novice users to get the printer up and running quickly.
  • High Print Quality: The printer delivers excellent print quality, with vivid colors and sharp text. One user mentioned, “The print quality is superior to other printers we use. Color prints are a good value.” This makes it suitable for printing both documents and photos. Users also appreciated the consistency in print quality, noting that both color and monochrome prints came out crisp and detailed.
  • Versatile Features: The all-in-one functionality of the printer allows it to print, scan, copy, and fax, making it versatile for different needs. Users appreciated features like auto two-sided printing and the two paper trays. “I love the 2 paper trays so you have the option to load 2 different papers,” noted one reviewer, highlighting the convenience of having separate trays for different paper types. The auto document feeder was another popular feature, making it easy to scan or copy multi-page documents without manual intervention.
  • Compact and Stylish Design: The compact footprint of the printer makes it easy to fit into small spaces, whether it’s a home office or a small business environment. Several users appreciated the sleek and modern design, which blends well with most office decor. “I love the new look of this printer; it feels like a great upgrade,” mentioned one user.
  • Energy Efficiency: The printer is designed to be energy-efficient, using less power compared to older models. This feature was particularly appreciated by environmentally-conscious users who wanted to reduce their energy consumption. “It’s great to have a printer that not only works well but also helps save on electricity,” noted a reviewer.

CONS

  • Initial Setup Complexity: Some users found the initial setup to be complicated and time-consuming, particularly for those who are not familiar with modern printers. “It took me almost an hour to get everything up and running,” said one user, highlighting the need for patience during setup. The requirement to use the HP Smart app for setup was also mentioned as a point of frustration for some users who prefer a more traditional setup process.
  • Ink Costs: The printer requires genuine HP ink cartridges, which some users found to be expensive. “The ink costs add up quickly, especially if you print frequently,” mentioned one reviewer, expressing concern over the long-term cost of ownership. Users who print in high volumes may find the ongoing cost of ink to be a significant drawback, especially since third-party cartridges are not compatible.
  • Wi-Fi Connectivity Issues: Several users reported problems with the Wi-Fi connection, which sometimes drops unexpectedly. This can be a significant inconvenience, especially for those who rely on wireless printing. “Printer doesn’t stay connected to Wi-Fi. Would not recommend,” shared one frustrated user. Users also mentioned having to frequently reset the connection, which can be disruptive during busy work periods.
  • Noisy Operation: The printer is described as being noisy during operation, which may not be ideal for everyone, especially if used in a quiet home office. “It is very noisy when printing,” commented one reviewer, while another user noted that it is noisier compared to older HP models. The noise level was particularly bothersome when printing large batches, making it less suitable for environments where quiet operation is crucial.
  • HP Smart App: The HP Smart app received mixed reviews, with some users finding it cumbersome. One user remarked, “HP Smart is a marketing gimmick,” expressing frustration over the app’s limited functionality and the forced integration during the setup process. Others found the app useful for mobile printing but still noted that it could be more intuitive and user-friendly.
  • Paper Jam Issues: A few users reported experiencing paper jams occasionally, particularly when using thicker paper types. “I had to clear paper jams a couple of times, which was annoying,” said one reviewer. Although these incidents were not frequent, they were enough to cause inconvenience, especially during larger print jobs.

Who Should Buy?

The HP OfficeJet Pro 9135e is ideal for individuals and small businesses looking for a multi-functional printer that can handle a variety of tasks, including printing, scanning, copying, and faxing. It is well-suited for users who require high-quality color prints and quick printing speeds. This printer is a great choice for home offices and small workgroups of up to 6-8 people, especially if mobility and the ability to print from multiple devices are important. Additionally, the printer’s compact design and energy efficiency make it a practical option for users with limited space or those looking to reduce their energy footprint. However, it may not be the best choice for those who require a consistently quiet environment or who are concerned about reliable wireless connectivity.

This printer is also well-suited for users who need to print photos and graphics due to its high print quality and vibrant colors. Small businesses that handle a variety of print jobs, from invoices to marketing materials, will find the versatility of the OfficeJet Pro 9135e valuable. However, users who print in high volumes should consider the potential ink costs, as genuine HP cartridges are required, which can add up over time.

Do Users Recommend This Product?

Most users recommend the HP OfficeJet Pro 9135e for its high print quality, versatility, and ease of setup. Users who successfully managed to navigate the setup and connectivity challenges were generally pleased with the printer’s performance, especially its ability to handle large print jobs and its auto document feeder. Many users also highlighted the energy efficiency and compact design, which made it a practical choice for their workspace.

However, some users were frustrated with the Wi-Fi connectivity issues and the noisiness of the printer. If wireless stability and quiet operation are critical factors, prospective buyers might want to consider other options. Additionally, the cost of ink was a concern for some, particularly those who print frequently. Overall, for those who can tolerate these drawbacks, the HP OfficeJet Pro 9135e is considered a worthwhile investment, providing excellent print quality, a range of useful features, and the ability to handle diverse printing needs effectively.

Hp 9135e Amazing

Meet the new HP 9135e all-in-one printer. This beautiful printer is feature-packed and is incredibly powerful. When looking for a printer, I need something that prints fast, is easy to use, and can be a workhorse for my business. Ink supplies need to be readily available and affordable. The 9135e exceeds my expectations in all of these categories. Here are some highlights that I found important and I needed in a printer.
– Fastest color print, copy, scan, and fax; features faster scan; mobile/wireless
– Professional-quality color for presentations, brochures, and flyers
– Ink subscription ready
– HP Wolf Security
– Print Speed: Black: Up to 24 pages per minute; Color: Up to 20 pages per minute
– Equipped with two 250-page input trays
– Upgraded 4.3” Touchscreen control panel.
One I can actually see whats going on Inky sharp display That allows on board Controller as well as Mobile app controls. The ability to print from anywhere with a data connection is Great and extremely useful for business purposes. I actually owned the last generations variation. I have found that everything feels more polished and fluid. So if you are looking to upgrade but wonder if you should? My recommendation is absolutely upgrade as you will definitely notice the difference. The build quality feels superb. It has a removable power cord. And that might seem silly to care about a power cord? But it really matters if you have ever had your cat decide to chew your cord lol. Simply replace it and you are ready to go. Bottom line is at this point I highly recommend This new printer from HP. It has all the features I need. Most importantly they work Flawlessly. It has beautiful Inky printing capabilities. Whether you want to print documents or photos. It all looks great. With many more options available. If you are in the market for a new printer? You need one that can literally be used for anything? Whether it be Simple everyday printing? Or printing for a small business? I say Look no further Then the new HP 9135e all-in-one printer. If you decide to buy it you will be happy you did.

Junk

User of office level equipment for over 15 years. This claimed to be an office level product. Pulled out of box the day after receipt. Very flimsy and shacky. One can easily break the paper adjustments. (For medium to heavy use you need the machine to be sturdy at least on day one.) Super strong springs in ink holders to ensure you have no idea if the ink will actually stay in place. (Must have got them on sale in bulk. Far too oversized.) You must guess if you think you have all the ink in correctly. (No indicators nor manuals to check to ensure proper insertion. Machine then takes a couple of minutes e to spin up. it shook away all dust from the heavy table I had it set on. Machine updates firmware and fails during restart of itself. Long press of power button and resume configuration. I set manual IP. (With 40 years of IT experience, and 5 verifications, I know the IP configuration was correct.) I setup a couple of computers. After the printer has been running and tested over some 10 to 20 minutes, the screen starts to say: no internet and cyan just installed. IP is unresponsive. Tried to enable WIFI as backup. Machine will not allow concurrent use of WIFI and Ethernet. Spent the next 90 minutes trying to get the machine back to doing anything correct to no avail. (This included a factory reset. I mean IP reset. There is no factory reset option.) Same issues over and over. DHCP would not work. Only magical auto setup. This of course assigns a hardcoded non-routable IP address. (In otherwards, useless.) Poor quality. No quality control. Summary: JUNK!

Horrible Experience

Straight out of the box it doesn’t work. I keep getting messages to remove the ink cartridges to inspect for leaks and contact support. I’ve been on a chat with support for over an hour and they are of no help. This thing is just defective and need to be replaced! This my email to them almost 2 weeks later.
I am very disappointed in your product, your service and how you treat your customers. I purchased a HP 9135e almost two weeks ago. Right out of the box it did not work. I reached out via support chat and stayed on it for over an hour. Not only did the person I was chatting with had no knowledge of how to fix my problem, they weren’t even listening. They kept asking me the same questions over and over. I then tried calling support. Not much different. I said this product was defective and it needs to be replaced. His solution was to order more ink cartridges and ship them to me. That was on 2/21/2024. I have not heard from or seen any packages from HP. I spent more than $300.00 and I expect to have a working product upon delivery. This printer was bought for my wife that works from home. How do you expect her to be productive if you brand new equipment doesn’t work. You support person could have atleast offered an option to where I could have exchanged the product locally!!!! Someone needs to do something immediately!!!

Defective Toner Cartridges

I researched All-In -One printers for some time before finally deciding on the HP Office Jet Pro 9135e. I am therefore extremely disappointed regarding what I’m about to share. The printer was delivered the evening of the same day I placed the order. Prior to receiving the printer, I watched a video that explained in great detail how to set it up. After receiving and carefully un-boxing the printer, I began the setup procedure. The procedure was much more complicated than the video explained however I did however, after much trial and error finally get through the process. I’m having a problem that is keeping the printer from functioning. I have a message on the read-out screen along with a circled M in the color of Magenta lit up that says, “The indicated cartridges are not communicating correctly with the printer. If problem persist, replace the cartridges.” Well, the only cartridge’s I have are the (4) that came with the printer. Now I’ve got to contact HP and wait to receive a replacement cartridge.

Well, after several attempts I was finally able to speak to a human at HP support. I was told I’d have to buy all (4) cartridges, install them and the printer “should then work”. This was after I went to a local Micro Center store and purchased a new Magenta cartridge for $42.99. Remember earlier I mentioned the error message that said the Magenta cartridge was not communicating with the printer. I installed the new Magenta cartridge but then got an error message saying I have to use the original Magenta cartridge to setup the printer. So, now I can’t use a new cartridge though the original error message said I had to replace the defective cartridge. Back to the HP support person, I shared all of the aforementioned information with him. After trying multiple procedures to get the printer to setup properly and finally work, I asked the technician to just send me (4) new cartridges. He declined stating, “for this printer the cartridges that came with it are promotional/complimentary and are therefore not part of the cost of the printer”. He assured me I would not be sent new cartridges from HP, warranty notwithstanding. It was at that point he told me I’d have to buy all new cartridges, install them and the printer should work. At that point I gave up! This printer does not work, nor will HP stand behind it and make it therefore I’m going to return it to Amazon which I have done as of this update.

PS: Yesterday guess what I received in the mail, (4) new cartridges from HP for the printer I returned six days ago!

Didn't work from the moment I started trying to set up

It looks pretty enough. However, as I was trying to set the printer up, it tells you to input the ink cartridges and they keep popping out. You think they are locked in, and they pop out again. Then, when I finally got them in for a moment, it reads that one of the brand-new ink cartridges that were included was leaking and that I cannot attempt to operate it and to contact Customer Support. I just received today, Saturday and they are closed until Monday. I paid a lot for this printer, which I was hoping was as reliable and easy as my HP All-in-One I have had for 7 years. I tried wiping it, the printer heads, etc., and all of the cartridges just kept popping out repeatedly. They don’t secure into the casing. Just absolute GARBAGE. It’s going back and I am done with HP. It looks like I am the very first person on here to purchase the newer “e” model. Save yourself aggravation, and a trip to return a gigantic, heavy box yourself.

Thrilling and Amazing Printing

The HP OfficeJet Pro 9135e stands as a pinnacle of color thermal inkjet technology, encapsulating a multifunctional design with dual paper trays, fax, copier, scanner functionalities, and an introductory offer of three months’ worth of ink. This printer not only represents considerable savings but also delivers unparalleled print quality.

Its Wi-Fi printing feature is a game-changer, offering the convenience of connecting smartphones, laptops, and desktops wirelessly, eliminating the need for physical cables. My experimentation with this device, even using budget office copy paper, revealed its capability to produce vivid, high-resolution images. However, when paired with premium paper designed for ink absorption and showcasing truer whites, the HP OfficeJet Pro 9135e’s potential for generating even higher-quality photos and images is fully realized.

The speed at which this printer operates is impressive, particularly with full-page color prints, achieving excellent tones and shades without any noticeable imperfections such as banding or distortion. My experience has been nothing short of enjoyable, from the excitement of unboxing to the seamless setup process. Despite having to rearrange my workspace to accommodate this new addition, the effort was well worth it, especially when comparing its performance to my previous Brother Laser Black and White printer.

Every test page, whether for standard office documents, art projects, flyers, or birthday cards, came out with vibrant colors and sharp details, underlining the versatility and superior capabilities of this machine.

In conclusion, the HP OfficeJet Pro 9135e is a remarkable printer that excels in both speed and quality, suitable for a wide range of printing needs. Its user-friendly setup and robust feature set make it a joy to use for any project. I wholeheartedly recommend this printer as one of the best I’ve encountered in years, urging potential buyers to experience its exceptional performance for themselves.

If you Like HP then you will like this printer

Printer quality is as good as our last HP. We had a model 8710 which we used for seven years. it prints plain paper, cardstock and photo paper very well. There is a learning curve associated with set up and use but once past that there is not a problem. If you use HP instant ink service, then it is much easier though it may not be your cheapest option. We used it on our previous model, so we were not surprised that this unit requires the instant ink service as far as I know. if you do not mind this quirk then there is no reason not to purchase this printer. This printer has two trays which was not true of our 8710 so that is a plus.

Great printer

I wanted the printer for home use. Really like how it prints and it does not use too much ink. Had a problem connecting to the laptop (laptop problem) and an excellent support agent worked with me for almost an hour to fix the problem. Excellent tech support.

Easy set-up, Fast Printing, Ink Concerns

The HP OfficeJet Pro 9135e is incredibly simple to set up onto your network using the HP Smart application for MacOS. I did not trial this product out on a Windows machine so I don’t have much to offer for that operating system. Set up is easy – take the machine out of the box, attach the power cord & plug into an outlet, open system up to install four (4) ink cartridges – standard magenta, cyan, yellow, and black. The wifi set up process was all done through the HP Smart application on my computer and went relatively seamlessly.

For an inkjet printer, this machine actually spits out prints fairly quickly – it’s rated to be able to produce 20-25 pages/minute for color and monochromatic printing, respectively. Printer resolution can be changed but the maximum is 1200×1200 for monochromatic and 4800×1200 for color printing. These are plenty sufficient specifications for a simple printer. I should note that I don’t intend to use this for photo printing, so super high quality printing isn’t of important to me. I’m only using one of the two paper trays available but it’s nice that there are options as you can load two different sizes of paper and choose between the two, as necessary. There’s also an auto feeder on top for quick copying. The printer is equipped to be able to do double-sided printing as well, which is a convenient feature for a printer this small in stature.

There’s a small 4.3″ LCD screen on the printer itself to navigate through various settings and to use the scanner/fax options. There’s also a USB port available to print directly from an external storage device.

My main concern came up when I opened up the (included) ink cartridges – HP offers 3 months of Instant Ink included with the HP+ subscription plan – a monthly payment plan that starts getting charged after 3 months. I believe the perk is that you get ink delivered (within 10 days) when you run low on ink. Though, the supposed benefit is that you “only pay for pages printer, not the amount of ink you use. Color costs the same as black & white.” Something about this feels odd and changes my mindset of HOW I want to pay for ink- if anything, it sort of forces you to look at the quantity and frequency of your printing to better estimate if the subscription service is right for you or if you should purchase the refills a la carte. Taking a quick look at prices online for ink refills – a full set (all four colors) is currently going for $125 (February 2024), with the black being capable of 1450 pages and 800 pages per color. The recommended subscription is for 100 pages/mo at $6.99/mo, which comes out to be more affordable. For example 800 pages of color printing would cost $125 (all four cartridges) vs. 800 pages of color printing on the subscription would be $56 (for whichever cartridges need refilling). What I personally don’t want is to add on ANOTHER subscription service in my life so I’d probably opt for the a la carte option, which would theoretically be at a higher cost to me; though, I won’t have to worry about ongoing payments.

HP printers are not what they used to be!

I have had HP Officejet Pro printers for many years. I retired my 8 year old printer and purchased a new HP Officejet Pro 9135e which is the replacement for my previous printer. Since I set it up, it has had nothing but problems! HP support which used to be great, went from hero to zero and is the worst! They don’t want to speak with you, they only want you to watch videos, talk to chat bots and figure out how to fix it yourself. It’s one thing to follow a script from a chat bot but when your issue is not in their script…you’re out of luck. Hp is no longer the standard for printers!
