Cons
- Connectivity and Setup Challenges: Many customers found the initial setup complicated and time-consuming, often encountering difficulties with wireless connectivity, frequent disconnections, and the printer not being recognized by devices, sometimes requiring multiple reboots or extensive troubleshooting.
- High Ink Costs and Restrictive Policies: A major point of dissatisfaction is the high cost of HP's proprietary ink cartridges and the mandatory nature of the HP Instant Ink subscription, with some users reporting the printer becoming unusable if non-HP ink is detected or the subscription is cancelled.
- Noise and Mechanical Issues: Several reviewers noted the printer is considerably noisy during operation. Other mechanical problems include frequent paper jams, the output tray bending printed pages, and the scanner feeder being unreliable or slow.

- Secondary audience: Families and remote workers printing homework, invoices, or photos who value easy wireless control and compact size.

Worst setup ever
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Shelly February 4, 2025Review source: AmazonWell we are on hour 3 with HP tech support. They can’t get their own products to work. Nothing should be this complicated to setup. It prints fine but don’t bother trying to setup scan to email yourself. After multiple QR codes and websites to setup a simple operation it still doesn’t work. My last HP printer took about 4 minutes to setup and scan documents.

Never, ever again Don't do it
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Sally February 2, 2025Review source: AmazonTried to give this all in one several months to truly review. It has been nothing but a HUGE disappointment to the point that while it is pretty new, I will GIVE it away. Scan indicates “multiple page” document feeder – NO must place one page at a time. No back feeder – must adjust page size within the tray. Free Ink? Oh sure, but you are HELD HOSTAGE and MUST remain subscribed to HP in order to use the free ink provided. New ink is sent whether you want it or not and you are charged. They want to charge for paper too. You can quit your subscription and purchase ink but any unused ink you have from them will not work.
No more HP printers for me!

Going from some small printer you had to turn the pages by hand to double side print I feel spoiled. Once set up on our office network we can now print from any device with ease.

HP printers with the "e" are a trap. You will be stuck paying $80 for color ink
Geoffrey The Great January 24, 2025Review source: AmazonHP printers with the “e” are a trap. You will be stuck paying $80 for color ink. If you use 3rd party ink the printer will give you an error and will not print.
