Gotta’ love Amazon for keeping records of my orders. It has been used 2-3 times per week (and much more during canning season) to cook steel-cut oats, brown rice, and beans. And it worked flawlessly. I didn’t need a new one, and that’s probably a problem for a manufacturer that creates durable, well-designed machines.
I was looking for a small version for a mountain cabin, where storage space is limited. This item is not that – although it has a smaller capacity, it has pretty much that same footprint (it’s just squat). I kept it anyway, since there aren’t many alternatives and it was on sale. And the pink one is cute, even though my husband calls it ‘girly.’
The functions are the same as the original, although the interface is different. Its cord is not detachable, but that’s not really a problem. It’s great for my weekend hot cereal, and for an empty nest household. I hope it is as durable as my original one.

It is well made and easy to use, however after just the first use (with lentils) some sots appeared on the bade of the stainless steel bowl that appear to be the surface coming off. Hard to comprehend….and it doesn’t concern me as the bowl is all steel however it is an odd issue and will have to see if it gets worse. -
