When I got my first Instant Pot, I felt totally overwhelmed by all the buttons, warnings, size (largest they make) and features I’m not familiar with… like “sous vide”. This mini unit is too cute to be afraid of! It has enough functions to make it highly versatile, yet not so many that you feel like you’re on the flight deck of a jet plane. My big unit won’t fit anywhere except on my counter top; this one can easily fit in a cabinet. Easy cleaning, amazing results… I can’t say enough good things about it. Whether buying for yourself or as a gift, I recommend you get an instant pot/pressure cooker cookbook to go with it if you’re a newbie. While it’s super easy to use, it’s a whole different way of cooking. And if you like “fall off the bone” BBQ ribs, it’s worth buying just for that!

My Most Used Kitchen Appliance
Carrie October 7, 2025Review source: AmazonI’m not exaggerating at all when I say this is my most used kitchen appliance. A year and a half ago I decided I wanted an instant pot with an air fry lid. The problem was I couldn’t afford one. My husband had just passed away and I had no income at all.
I couldn’t get the idea that I wanted one out of my head so I started looking for a secondhand one. Eventually, I found a different brand but basically the same thing for $65on Facebook marketplace, however it didn’t have the air fry lid. I messaged the seller asking her if she would take $50 and I explained to her that I thought the pot was worth 65 but my situation was what it was and I told her about it. She said she’d accept my offer yet when I went to get it, she generously gave it to me.
I used it twice, but I still couldn’t get the idea out of my head that I wanted this instant pot with the air fryer lid so a few months later I found myself in a situation where I could afford to get one and I did. I haven’t used it once it just seemed awfully big for my needs. I only cook for myself the majority of the time, and while there wasn’t a reason in the world not to use it I guess it intimidated me a little.. I hadn’t cooked in over 20 years when my husband passed away, because he did it all.
Fast-forward, not too long ago. I saw this little Rio and I didn’t know if I should order it or not, but I did. Because it’s smaller I don’t look at it and think oh this is gonna be such a short cleanup. It’s so easy to use and I find myself grabbing it at least four times a week. If not more I absolutely love it. It’s so easy to use. The instructions are very clear.. It looks great on my counter and I just love that I can set it and forget it if I want to slow cook something or I can cook it in a hurry up I’m hungry and wanting to get my dinner on the table.
Cleanup is super easy. It probably was with the bigger one too, but I didn’t really know as I never used it. I think it wasn’t just the size but when I was growing up, my mother had a pressure cooker and she used to talk about how dangerous they could be if you didn’t know what you were doing, so I was also a little bit afraid of it, but by ordering it was the best decision I’ve made in over a year. I’ve been telling all of my friends about it and they laugh at me because of how much I go on about how much I love this instant pot. I was a person who a few years ago was asked by her oldest grandchild. If I was sure, I knew how to cook hotdog in the microwave if that tells you anything.
I could go on and on about it but what you really need to know is it’s a quality product that’s simple to use. If all I wanted to do was make some rice I could’ve done it in my bigger pot, but it just felt like so much more pot than I needed for such a little thing. If you’ve been considering an instant pot, but hesitating for any reason, this is a great way to test the water so they know you have a family that you cook for I can promise you you’ll be wanting a bigger ones for that. You can find so many recipes online for free that y’all have no trouble coming up with something to use it for. I highly recommend it and if I could give it 100 stars I would.

I can make so many different meals in one pot which saves time and dishes. The size is perfect for smaller families and it cooks everything fast and evenly. I have used it for pot roast and it was sooo delicious.
The design is clean and modern and the controls are simple to understand. I love that I can just set it and let it do the work. It has quickly become one of my most used kitchen appliances!! And honestly I love the white! It is a smaller sized one but its onkly the 3 of us so its been perfect for us!

It truly is a multi-cooker: pressure cooker, slow cooker, sauté, steam, rice.cooker, etc. It’s the perfect size for us making it also easy to store and move about. The functionality that exists with all the pre-programmed settings makes it easy to get the right heat level and cooking time. When we cooked our first roast, the meat was very tender and the veggies were perfect. This is a great value for the money an d you can’t go wrong with it. We love the pressure controls making it easy and safe to use.

I use the big one on Sundays when my kids come to dinner and the little one during the week for me and my husband. The big one came with three rings. But the mini only has one. I ordered the rings for the 6 quart one and it fits perfectly in the mini one so now I have two extra for savory and sweet. I highly recommend both.

This one is smaller and lighter but not by much, just enough to be appealing. It looks good, heats up and cooks well, and is easy to operate. Cleanup is a snap.
I use my Instant Pots essentially for pressure cooking so can’t speak to the other cooking modes but don’t see why those features wouldn’t also work well thanks to excellent heating and digital controls.
I really like the toggle switch for sealing/releasing steam. The 4 qt. size is perfect for cooking a plentiful meal for two. It’s substantial in build but light and compact enough to tuck away and pull out when needed. Loving it so far!
