I love the compact size, I think I may need a larger one down the road, but this is great for now while I learn the ins and outs of pressure cooking. Going for carnitas Friday, what the heck, live and learn. I am also looking forward to using the other features. I have the Rice&Grain, but this may negate the need for that and it may get passed along to the kid. Updates to come on future cooks.

Labrat September 27, 2025Review source: AmazonI’ve had the original Instant Pot for several years and love it. This mini version works just as well in a more compact size, making it perfect for small families.
This convenient appliance does the job of numerous items in a small footprint. There are not as many presets on the Rio as the original, but all the essentials are there. It is extremely easy to use by simply setting and forgetting. The temperature gets extremely hot and keeps a high pressure allowing for quick and thorough cooking.
The removable stainless steel pot is easy to clean, and now fits in my dishwasher, unlike the bigger version. The included foldable wire tray allows for safe food removal and can also be washed in a dishwasher.
Although an actual recipe book is not included with this version, there is a free app available for easily finding a variety of recipes with simple setting instructions.
This is a high quality item in a convenient size that does a lot of jobs at a great value. Based on my experience with other versions, I expect this to be just as durable and last a long time. -

I tried it out with my favorite beef stew recipe, which I usually cook in my crockpot for 8+ hours, and I honestly couldn’t believe how good it turned out. It cooked in a fraction of the time, and the beef was even more tender and flavorful while the veggies were fully cooked but not mush! Total game changer.
I have a larger Instant Pot that I use for family meals, but this 4 quart size is perfect for smaller batches. We’ve got a picky eater in the house, so sometimes I need to make something separate for her. This makes it so easy! It’s also great for when I just want to make a meal for my husband and I without a ton of leftovers.
It doesn’t take up much space, it’s easy to clean and looks very nice on the counter. It’s already replacing most of my crockpot recipes! If you’re on the fence, I’d say go for it! Get this one if you like smaller size, or get the larger one if you’re cooking larger family meals!

Great for beginners
Stormy September 26, 2025Review source: AmazonI may be the only cook in America who hasn’t tried out an Instant Pot yet, but this is my first experience with one. So I cannot compare it to other variations of the product, but I’m very happy with this one. I only used it to pressure cook so far, but everything has turned out perfectly. I can’t wait to use the rice cooker function. The size is perfect for two people, but I was able to cook three chicken breasts to shred for tacos which was enough for four people. Overall I’m really happy with it and recommend for first timers like myself. If all goes well I will probably upgrade to a larger one for full meals.
