It’s half the size of my old one, which makes portioning the right amount super easy for a 2-person household plus some leftovers between my husband and I. The design is very moderns, and the beautiful matte pink color brightens my kitchen counters. I mostly use it as a rice cooker or slow cooker, super efficient and cooks very evenly both ways. Incredibly happy with this one!

The metal bowl is thick and easy to clean in the dishwasher without any issue, and the device itself is heavy-duty, durable, and nice to the touch. I’ve never actually owned a pressure cooker before, so I decided to take some time to learn before actually using it. The page in the instruction manual on practicing on a few cups of water is GREAT for first-time users. Although there is a bit of a learning curve, the pot is so user-friendly and easy to use. I had no trouble learning quickly. And I never knew how amazing pressure cooking can be!
Of course, it does so much more than pressure cooking, and this Instant Pot works flawlessly in every way. I’m able to put my rice cooker, slow cooker, and other devices in storage, and devote the kitchen cabinet to just this device. The food comes out perfectly cooked clearly with an even heat distribution and temperature maintenance during cooking. The perfectly beautiful color is an added bonus!! I’m in LOVE!!
[In my pictures, you might notice additional labels. I used my label maker during my quick learning process to help me and my family learn. The device is actually very beautiful and doesn’t have all those cumbersome labels on it. Also, I forgot to include a pic of when my rack of ribs were done before we ate some, but I included what was left. The meat was so perfect and tender, after just 25 min of cooking and setting, the meat fell right off the bone!]

Great update from one of the original models

Many times, we only need something smaller like this because it’s just 2 of us. I’m thrilled something smaller is finally available!
I love the esthetics of this one (in white). It looks simple, clean, and modern. The buttons feel more intuitive and everything about this feels more refined – from the feel of the buttons to the nicer beeps it let’s out. It seems much easier to use than our original. Being that it’s smaller, it comes to pressure much faster and releases its temperature faster, too. That means dinner is ready even more quickly!
My favorite feature on this new one is the slide button that controls the release valve. So much safer than twisting it! I used to move it using a wooden spoon, so I woildnt get burned. Now I just slide the toggle. This is a huge improvement!
Some things I’ve seen other reviewers mention: The cord is permanently attached. It doesn’t bother us, because our original one is that way, too. There’s no temp adjustment when pressure cooking. We’ve never – not once – adjusted the temperature on our original one while cooking, so I don’t think I’ll miss that.
We have not tried rice or yogurt functions on this yet. We have a dedicated rice cooker, and when my husband makes yogurt, he uses an entire gallon – and that requires our larger Instant Pot still.
Everything we’ve made in it has turned out just as tasty as our original IP, but faster and taking up less valuable counterspace. I’m absolutely thrilled with this smaller option. Very versatile!

Yes, it replaces a slow cooker (I made refried beans in it this way), it sautées meats and veggies (great to not use the stovetop on a hot day), and cooks rice in a FLASH. I’ve never owned a rice cooker so to go from 60-90 minutes on the stovetop to 12 minutes in this device is a huge time saver. I haven’t used the pressure cooker feature yet but will report back when I do! The Keep Warm and Delay Start features are extra helpful in timing food for an event and those are both great upgrades over my slow cooker. It really is a multi-cooker!

This one is a more manageable size for me. Although it has fewer features and settings than the original, it has everything I need. It is easy to clean and takes up less real estate in the cabinet. The cook times are a bit shorter because of the smaller size. This is a great option for one or two people.

Beth A September 23, 2025Review source: AmazonAs I have an Instant Pot Pro Plus Wi-Fi Smart 10-in-1 as my primary Instant Pot, I admit to being spoiled. That said, although it doesn’t have as many presets as the top of the line IPs, and it won’t communicate with my phone (not exactly a deal breaker, although it’s a nice feature), this is a really nice little Instant Pot, and will do almost everything a full sized and featured Instant Pot will, once you get a handle on the features (and if you already use an IP, you probably already know how to do eggs or beans using the Pressure Cook setting).
It gives a cheerful impression, as it’s cute as a button, and the (dry) pink sand color is beautiful. The footprint is essentially the same as a regular Instant Pot, but it does have the advantage of having lower sides, so it’s easier to see inside, and to do some food manipulation than a non-RIO version, as a result of which I find that sautéing is a little easier. It’s large enough for three large portions of stew, so I’d say it’s big enough for a 2-3 person household, and would be a very nice choice for a dorm room.
I have absolutely no reservations in recommending this. It’s definitely a good choice if you’re looking for a smaller sized, reliable and versatile electric pressure cooker with a wide range of abilities.
