This smaller 4Qt version I must say comes with all the same awesome functions – Pressure cook, slow cook, sauté, steam, cook rice, make yogurt, or keep your meals warm. It is compact and takes up less counter space and I can see just how useful this can be for a college student moving into the dorms. Just a tip: this makes the most awesomest yogurt. I am using this 4QT to exclusively make yogurt so I don’t have to deep clean my instant pot after each stew/soup making session.

Perfect size for 1-2 people. Just be careful when letting out the steam, do not trigger the fire alarm because of all the air released (do not ask me how I know….Ooops)

It sat up on a shelf for months and was super heavy and bulky to deal with. To be honest I was too scared to use it. I got this a week ago and have pressure cooker frozen chicken and I made a beef stew. The stew caused a slight mess. But it was so easy to disassemble and put back the pieces to clean up. I love how lightweight and pretty it is too! This one in pretty much fool proof. Just don’t fill it past the 2/3 line.

It’s much quieter than the others, perfect size for me. Love the new exhaust system. It’s the same width as the 5 and 6 qt so lids/rings are interchangeable. My ONLY complaint is the signal sound is barely audible, so I set a timer and Alexa let’s me know when the time is up. I wish there was a way to make it louder. The stainless steel pan is easy to clean (any stains that do appear, use vinegar to clean). This is one of the things I like about Instant Pot — stainless steel pot rather than something coated.

I cook for just the 2 of us and this is a great size. It works a little differently than my older 6 qt Instant Pot and I had to look up the manual online. It would be nice if that link was provided in the details of the listing. I appreciate the upgraded safety feature of the steam venting valve. I just cooked chicken thighs from frozen and they were speedy and perfect. I love the fact I can still have a timely dinner if I forget to defrost the meat. I also make goat’s milk yogurt for my dogs.
