I do a lot of freeze drying so they all get used. Bought this on October and WOW, I love this pot. I have used almost non stop since buying it. Out of all the other pots I have This one is the only one that does a true slow cook. I use it on low heat for 3 hrs and done. I have had no sticking no over cooking. Just great meals. It is only a 4 q so amount adjustment’s have to be made. Makes great yogurt too.

Winner is just starting so I haven’t used it as often as I plan.. I have used it once go check it.. I went to use it yesterday to make rice and noticed that after using it once, three rust spots have appeared in the heating plate beneath the main container. The shiny coating on the heating plate is coming up in spots. Clearly it’s too late for me to return this one, and I don’t know if it’s a fluke of their manufacturing you wouldn’t see it upon visual inspection when you buy it but clearly whatever they coded. The heating plate with is not sticking. Regrettably, I cannot recommend this even though I very much like its size. I haven’t decided whether I simply have to throw it away or I could use it until the rest of the heating plate coding disappears. I am somewhat concerned whether those spots indicate something toxic coming off of that plate.

I have yet to cook, and try some of the settings, I only wanted to make a review since I saw another comment on the bowl pitting after doing the water test. It happened to me too, I did not take a before picture but the bowl had lot of white little spots at the bottom. I added a bit of white vinegar to my warm soapy water, scrubbed the bowl gently, and the bowl is good as new! Vinegar also helps when washing stainless steel pots and pans.

I was happy to buy this 4qt Rio. I am more than pleased with it for pressure cooking, slow cooking and yogurt. The lid is a little shaky when hooked on the side but I can live with it. The inner pot is wider than original IPs and requires a bit more liquid when sauteing. -
