JBL Tune Flex True Wireless Noise-Cancelling Earbuds
Summary of Customer Reviews
The JBL Tune Flex True Wireless Noise-Cancelling Earbuds have received a broad range of feedback from customers, spanning multiple review platforms. Overall, users appreciate these earbuds for their sound quality, convenience, and variety of features. However, some users have pointed out areas where the product could be improved, particularly in terms of comfort and noise cancellation. Reviews consistently highlight a balance between value for money and a few minor drawbacks in functionality.
PROS
- Sound Quality: The most frequently praised aspect is the sound quality. Users have described the audio as rich, with clear highs and solid bass. A user from Amazon mentioned, “The sound is crystal clear, with enough bass to give depth to music without sacrificing clarity.” Other reviewers appreciated the audio tuning options via the JBL app, which allows customization based on individual preferences.
- Comfort and Fit: Many users have commended the earbuds for their comfort during prolonged usage. A reviewer from Best Buy said, “These earbuds are lightweight, and I forget they’re even in my ears after a while.” Several users also noted that the earbuds come with multiple ear tips, making it easier to find the right fit.
- Battery Life: Long battery life was a common positive point, with many users highlighting that the earbuds can last for several hours on a single charge. “The battery easily lasts all day with continuous use,” one user on Amazon wrote. The charging case also provides multiple charges before needing a recharge itself, adding to the convenience.
- Noise-Cancelling Functionality: While the noise cancellation is not considered industry-leading, many reviewers still found it adequate for blocking out ambient noise. A Walmart reviewer mentioned, “The noise cancellation is effective in quiet environments, reducing most background sounds.”
- User-friendly Features: The touch controls and app integration received high praise. Users liked the ability to control noise-cancellation modes, sound equalization, and ambient awareness settings. “I love that I can fine-tune everything via the app. It makes the whole experience seamless,” said a satisfied customer on Amazon.
CONS
- Noise Cancellation: Several users expressed dissatisfaction with the noise-cancellation feature, particularly in louder environments. As one Amazon user pointed out, “The noise-cancelling is not as powerful as expected; you still hear a lot of background noise in busy places.” Many reviews indicated that while the feature worked to some extent, it wasn’t strong enough for outdoor activities or noisy areas.
- Fit and Stability: Some customers had issues with the earbuds staying securely in place, particularly during physical activities. “They tend to fall out of my ears when jogging or moving around,” one user from Walmart stated. Although the product comes with different ear tip sizes, not all users found a comfortable or secure fit.
- Charging Case Design: Another frequent criticism was the design of the charging case, which users found slippery and difficult to open. “The case design could definitely be improved. It’s hard to get a good grip on the buds when removing them,” mentioned a Best Buy customer. Additionally, there were occasional issues with the earbuds not properly charging in the case due to poor contact between the buds and the charging pins.
- Touch Controls: While touch controls were appreciated by some, other users found them overly sensitive or prone to accidental activation. “Every time I take them out of the case, I end up pausing my music or activating voice assistant by accident,” shared a reviewer on Amazon.
- Noise Cancelling vs Ambient Modes: Some users found the noise-cancelling and ambient modes to be confusing or inconsistent. One user remarked, “I couldn’t tell much difference between ambient mode and noise cancelling. It’s more of a gimmick in noisy environments.”
Who Should Buy?
The JBL Tune Flex True Wireless Noise-Cancelling Earbuds are ideal for people who are looking for a high-quality yet affordable set of wireless earbuds. They are particularly suited for casual listeners who value sound quality and the ability to customize audio settings through an app. With a decent level of noise cancellation and a lightweight, comfortable design, these earbuds are a good fit for individuals who commute, work in quiet environments, or enjoy light exercise. However, those seeking top-tier noise cancellation or a highly secure fit for intense workouts might want to consider other options.
Do Users Recommend This Product?
Most users recommend the JBL Tune Flex earbuds for their sound quality, convenience, and value for money. Reviewers frequently emphasized how the product exceeded expectations, especially when purchased during a sale. One Amazon reviewer said, “For the price, they absolutely deliver fantastic sound and reliability.” However, those who prioritized features like noise cancellation or stability during physical activities were more cautious in their recommendations. Some pointed out that the noise cancellation didn’t live up to their expectations, but they were still satisfied with the overall performance.

Great budget buds
Was a little skeptical because I haven’t really heard of this brand besides the big speakers I see all the time. Exceeded expectations. The noise cancelling is jarring at first because you don’t expect it to work as well as it does in these little buds. Felt like I was wearing some gun range earmuffs, they’d randomly pick up my pug wheezing and I’d be wondering what the hell that noise was sort of like how headsets will boost stuff like air conditioners that you never really noticed before.
The audio quality is great. I’m sure audio freaks will denounce these as being less than perfect but I can’t tell any issues. If you want more bass just adjust it in the app, crisper vocals- you can do that. It’s got a simple but robust equalizer you can mess with to your heart’s content. Gets loud enough to worry you about hearing loss, even kindly has a setting to prevent you from doing this if you lack self control.
The case is cute, feels nice in the hand, is a little weighty but not so much that you notice it in your pockets constantly bouncing around. The earbuds are a little tricky to put in until you just memorize the orientation, it’s a very precise fit where your brain can kind of imagine them going in a few other ways til you find the proper one. The provided charging cord is incredibly short and an ugly bright orange but I suppose it helps since you’d probably lose it in two seconds if it wasn’t glowing.
The earbuds themselves look fine, subtle design. Dark, matte, won’t draw much attention unlike some brands with the bright gold accents and LEDs and all that junk. The default set are a little loose in the ears but there’s 3 sets of tips to find a better fit. May god have mercy on your soul of these don’t fit because the connector looks pretty unique. Not sure if generic tips would fit onto the thin oval lips these use.
The touch controls are a bit annoying, constantly calling random numbers or whatever else my phone is interpreting as the noises of my fumbling to put the buds in their case after listening for a bit. You can just turn it off though so it’s not a big deal. EDIT: Actually you can’t, disregard that. A bit annoying, gotta grab them a very specific way when putting in and removing from case.
Screw Raycons, get these any day of the week if you’re a cheapskate who still likes quality stuff like me.

Worth it if they’re on Discount.
I bought these as a replacement for my Sony WF-1000XM3’s. Straight out of the box I can tell you these are a lower quality BUT great option for the price (if discounted as stated in the title.) If you’re looking for headphones that have superb noise cancelling, these are not for you. It’s there but so minimal that the feature itself doesn’t warrant too much relevancy. The sound itself on the pair I got gets a little distorted at max volume, this isn’t to say it ruins the consumer experience all together. Using these at even half the total volume should suffice for any average person on their daily commute. The battery life is great. 32 hrs total (I suggest you do without noise cancelling) and the design fit perfectly in my ear. They are, however, a little bigger than other earbuds I’ve used so keep that in mind. The interchangeable ear tips might work for you if the hard ones aren’t your thing. It comes with 3 separate sizes along with the standard hard tips. I also have not used them in a phone call, but I don’t really talk on the phone all too much so it’s not a deal breaker for me. I paid 53$ for these and would say it was well worth the purchase. 4 stars only because 50$ should be the standard price. For 100$ you can definitely get better options.

decent audio but all-in-all underwhelming
I bought these on sale during one of the deal days so I wasn’t expecting the greatest product. But even at the discounted rate, I don’t know if it was worth the money. They’re definitely better products out there for similar or cheaper prices (compared to the full price of the product).
The audio quality is better than a pair of $10 wireless earbuds, but aren’t a true JBL experience. The only difference between ambient and noise canceling is that with ambient, the outside noises are projected through the earbuds. But otherwise the noise canceling aren’t really noise canceling at all.
As for the hardware itself, they aren’t very comfortable even with multiple cushion sizes. The earbuds have a hard time connecting with the charging prongs in the bottom of the case. So often your earbuds don’t realize they’re in the case and should be turned off. So then you wake up with one earbud fully charged and one on 5%.
The tap interface is really well thought out but poorly executed. The same taps don’t all work with every app. The pause/play and skip features on the earbud don’t work at all with Spotify. Which is a major oversight considering it’s debateably the largest music player for phones. And the command to talk with your phone changes depending on what type of phone you have. And it changes based off of what app you have open.
It is by no means a horrible product, but you should explore other options before deciding on this one, unless you find it on sale.

Just what I wanted
I got hooked onto JBL headphones after a coworker recommended them to me and I am SO glad they did. I was looking for a new pair of earbuds that had actual noise-cancelling since my last pair didn’t have it (despite being advertised as having it) and I found these. This has great noise-cancelling (my parents hate it lol), ambient mode, and the ability to turn off noise-cancelling completely. Here’s a breakdown of my experience with these:
Pros:
– Has an app to control all of the settings of the earbuds (that actually works and connects)
– Can adjust to whether you have an open ear tip or sealing ear tip
– Has several adjustments for the level of noise-cancelling, including ambient aware mode and a “talk thru” mode so you can hear others talk without having to adjust your volume
– Adjustable equalizer
– Changeable controls for taps on the buds themselves
– Can adjust how much you want to hear yourself when you talk
– Options of audio vs video mode
– Adjustable left/right sound balance
– Voice assistant compatible
– Find My Buds service
– Power saving mode too
– Long battery life
Cons:
– Cannot change the sets of actions for tapping on the buds (only has Ambient Sound Control or Playback & Voice Assistant Control) which sucks since they don’t have actions for “next song”
– Adjustments for level of noise-cancelling is a bit confusing to me
– Not at all sensitive to touch so it can take a few tries to get the tap actions to work sometimes
I might be biased since I love JBL, but these are much better than previous earbuds I’ve invested in. They match the expectations of the price they’re set at and, for me, exceed them. I also got them on sale so it was even better. It’s well-worth every penny for buying them. The first time I used them with noise cancelling, I practically had a big O but for my ears. Add an herbal substance to the mix and you’re in music heaven. It sounds like the music is coming from inside your head and is all around you instead of the “yup, I’m wearing earbuds” feeling.
The fact that you can change the equalizer for different settings (and make your own) makes it even better since I like having my sound a certain way for music. It’s also incredibly easy to change. All of the features are pretty straight forward (except for the level of noise-cancelling thing) and easy to adjust. With the press of a button, you can change your entire audio experience to just the way you want it, and that’s exactly how it should be.
Overall, 100% worth the money and the time spent on adjusting the settings to what you want. This has to be the best pair of earbuds I’ve ever bought. The battery lasts a long time, it’s super customizable, and it’s easy to use. Love them. Definitely recommend.

Good headphones, touch won't accidently activate on pillow
This review is for: JBL Tune Flex – True Wireless Noise Cancelling Earbuds (White), Small
Overall, I like them. Video mode has no audio lag. They sound good with boosted base and sealed tips.
I picked them up on sale, so I really can’t complain for value. I really wish there was a way to turn on the headphones without the case.
Highs:
* When using to go to sleep, the pillow won’t accidently activate the touch controls (very nice).
* Touch controls are responsive and are easy to activate. I haven’t had them accidently double activate so far.
* Video mode has no audio/video lag. Must be enabled in the app. By default it is set to Music mode.
* Good sound. They sound very good when using the bass EQ, music mode, and the sealed tips.
* Fit is good. Three sizes for sealed tips.
* Can setup each touch control to a different command set.
* Important! : If you want volume control, it must be setup in the app.
* Has a “find earphones” function (only when still turned on). Emits a tone and is easy to hear.
* Has an optional auto standby which also optionally deactivates ANC. For example: With some other earphones, ANC will stay on even with auto standby enabled. If using them to sleep to, ANC being on all the time will cause the battery to be low by morning.
* Good Bluetooth range.
Lows:
* Hard to get out of the case. This seems to be common with all case based small headphones. There isn’t a good way to grip them and they won’t shake out.
* When getting out of the case, it’s easy to activate the touch controls over and over. (Skip, play, pause, volume up.)
* No way to turn on the earphones without the case. Not even with the app. Cannot force standby either.
* This means that if you forget the case, you can’t put them in your pocket because the touch controls fire randomly. The app can turn off the earphones.
* Couldn’t tell a difference between ANC on or off. With or without the sealed tips. But I was not really surprised for small in ear headphones.
Other:
To put on or take off the tips, use a credit card or spudger to separate the white tips from the body. The sealed tips are easy to add and remove.

Quick Delivery, Adjustable Fit, and Impressive Performance, with a Few Quirks
I got these JBL earbuds, and they arrived super quickly. I like the adjustable ear inserts, which let me find the right fit, but the design can be irritating compared to my other go-to earbuds. If you’re used to Apple earbuds, the volume control might differ from your favorite – it wasn’t mine. The voice command is loud, even after tinkering with the app settings. On the bright side, the noise cancellation is top-notch, especially with the right earbud piece.
I mainly use them for calls and meetings, and they perform like champs. Sleek design and surprisingly long battery life – it went five hours straight without a hitch. The bigger earbud pieces practically glue them in during workouts (just be careful with loud music). However, it is not the most comfortable to sleep with them.
The charger situation caught me off guard – different from my JBL speaker. So, keep that in mind when packing chargers. Overall, I got these on sale, and they’re holding up well—a solid buy. I’d rate them a 4.5/5.

Good Quality
I bought some cheaper ear buds before and they were ok. These however made me realize that you get what you pay for. Still reasonable in price, these sounded much better…as they should be. The only complaint I have is surrounding noises when on a call. It seems to muffle the phone call. It might be a setting issue that I haven’t figured out yet (probably) but I am still very happy with the purchase of these. In short, battery life is great, Bluetooth distance is good, fit in the ears is great! I forget I have the in all the time. I’d buy again if needed.

Great overall with a few nuisances.
Great sound quality as expected of JBL, the battery life with the case I have been able to go two days without charging and still have the buds at 100 percent also has a nice app to control everything with a lot of features including using the app instead of the bud taps and a nice eq. The talk through is a handy feature and the mics are awesome quality and taking calls with the buds in is no issue. As good as they have been the fit is always a bit awkward, this not only leaves me constantly readjusting them but also makes the noise cancelling not great unless you blast the music. The last issue with them is they don’t sit well in the case either on occasion leaving them to not charge and be a nuance and for 100$ I didn’t expect to run into the same problem I had with a 30$ pair of off brand earbuds I had before this.

The earbuds I've been looking for!
These earbuds are perfect!
I’ve used verious types of wireless earbuds and these are my favorite! The shape is actually the most comfortable to wear in my opinion. And if you’re worried about blocking out background noise, these come with rubber ear tips that will help make these seal better in your ear than most others with this design.
The app is also really well done and easy to use. Gives you control over the EQ, touch features, noise cancelling features, and even tells you the battery life.
The case is also fantastic with the front lights being three bars showing you how much battery the case has as well so you’ll know when to recharge. The lid also opens all the way and kinda latches open so the lid doesn’t snap shut waking up your spouse while you’re trying to get your earbuds out or put them away. Haha super nice though!
They sounds fantastic and crystal clear! I’m sure that some audiophiles out there will have some issue with them. But as a musician and content creator who has dealt with audio for years, for an everyday use set of wireless earbuds, these are great! I’m not mixing an album or editing youtube videos with them but I could if I wanted. But for movies, music, and youtube videos, these are perfect!
I love them so much I got my wife some for Christmas, she loves them too!
