The warming plate is hotter as well. This glass carafe doesn’t drip at the spout when pouring the coffee into a cup. I like the coffee grounds basket is deeper than the older version. The lid covering the grounds basket is heavier constructed and little larger which makes it seem like higher quality and better construction. Overall much improved and worth the price paid. Also I’m a Best Buy Total member and love I have two years coverage on this product.
