I’m used to a more involved coffee routine at home—grinding beans, using a Chemex, and brewing a full pot—which is just too much hassle for a simple afternoon pick-me-up at work. Its “small space saver” design is exactly as described; at only about 4 inches wide, it weighs very little and it takes up almost no space on my bookshelf, but it’s still holds enough water to brew a 12-ounce cup, which is a great size. It’s also tall enough to fit a travel mug directly under it, which is very convenient.
Now, instead of a 10-minute process, I can just pop in a K-Cup and have a single, hot cup of coffee in about a minute.
It’s simple, it’s easy to clean, it’s fast, and for the money it’s a good value for its intended purpose: providing a quick, no-fuss coffee break without the mess or time commitment of a full brew. It’s exactly what I needed. -

Review: Keurig K-Mini Mate Single Serving, You Can Be a Minimalist and Still Own a Keurig

I’m so much happier with nearly nothing on my counter tops. My old Keurig worked fine, but its large water resivour and mystery cavern on the side with preset brew buttons took up unnecessary space. This sleek slim version brews just as well and instantly made my counter shine – Less is More
Each morning I brew two pods in one large mug—6 oz for the first, 8 oz for the second and I collect my water from the fridge filter using a 2 cup Pyrex measuring cup filled to 14 oz. After the first brew, I blend in cream and protein powder with a stick wand, then top it buy pouring the remaining water, 8oz, from my Pyrex into the reservoir, and top off my cup by brewing the second pod. Within a few days, my modified coffee ritual it became my favorite new habit—simple, space-saving, and perfectly consistent.
If you love the convenience and luxury of the keurig, yet want to simplify and or minimize, I highly recommend the Keurig K-Mini Mate Single Serve. I must admit when I selected it, I thought I’d eventually give it to my son who is how officially adulting: renting his first house with a tiny kitchen and next to no counter space, but, I’ll have to buy a second, because I’m not giving this up. Also, the mini model comes a Mimi price tag compared to the larger size, more complex feature models I’ve purchased and browsed in the past. -
