Smoothies are delicious, but the clean-up deters a lot of people from making these at home. It is much more convenient to go to a local smoothie shop and pay the extra couple of dollars to be able to walk in, order a smoothie, and walk out with it without having to do the prep work for it, or the clean-up.
This Ninja Blend Boss smoothie blender is definitely an upgrade to my personal smoothie regimen. When I first started making smoothies, I was very motivated to get up early, cut the fruits up, pull out the blender, blend it all up, pour into a cup, and drink it while driving to work. This worked pretty well for a few months before it started to become cumbersome. I got tired of getting up earlier than necessary to make a smoothie, and because I seemed to always be in a rush, I would save the cleanup until I came home from work. By the time I’d get home, it took a long time to clean the blender thoroughly so it would be ready for use the next morning. It got to the point where I just decided to make a pit stop on the way to work to just buy one. Eventually, that blender was put in the cabinet and to be honest, I am not sure I have used it since.
Over the past year or so, I have started to look into getting back into the daily smoothie routine. I have found myself buying cheaper and unhealthier food from the grocery store each week, and not really enough fruits and vegetables. When I saw this Ninja Blend Boss online, I saw pretty quickly that it addressed the cleanup issue I mentioned above. Granted, the blender still needs to be cleaned of course, but I no longer have to really wait until the end of the day to do so. This is because when you make a smoothie with this Blend Boss, the smoothie is made directly in the tumbler you drink from!
The folks at Ninja thought of everything with the Blend Boss. First, make your smoothie as usual. I use a lot of blueberries and bananas, but also like to alternate my fruits depending on what’s on sale at my grocery store. You can choose the consistency of your smoothie by pressing one of the buttons on the front. Once you are satisfied with the smoothie, you take the blend cup out. Put the leak-proof lid on top, and you are ready to go. It becomes a 26 ounce tumbler, and on top of that there is a handle to carry it. And even better, the base of the tumbler will fit in a standard sized car cup holder! I told you they thought of everything!! Then, when you get to work and finish your smoothie sometime around mid-morning, you can clean it out completely while you are on your break so it is ready to go for the next morning.
At less than $140, this is an amazing product. Ninja continues to make high quality small kitchen appliances, and this blender is no exception. If you are not a fan of the ‘Lavender Lemonade’ color, there are 3 other pretty colors to choose from. This Blend Boss not only can make smoothies, but it can be used to crush full ice cubes into snow, it can puree ingredients to make soups or dips, or chop veggies if you’d like. This blender does everything that my previous smoothie blender did, plus some more which is why I am such a big fan of this product. I love being able to blend directly into the vessel I am going to be drinking out of. This has made a huge difference for me, and makes the $140 price tag well worth it.

Powerful and convenient, way better than the Ninja Blast

First, the appearance is awesome. Love the design, the base reminds me of what my 5 year old self would have thought a UFO looked like, and when I put the bottle on it I always chuckle because it kinda looks like a UFO beaming something upwards. Anyway, love the design, love the lilac and buttercream color combo.
Easy to clean, the size is fairly small
The quality is great. All the pieces feel nice and durable, the bottle is ginormous with a comfortable handle. It doesn’t give off any burning motor smell when I’m using it either. Most importantly, it does an awesome job at blending up frozen strawberries and big olde ice cubes without any problems. No having to stop and shake it about. I will say I don’t blend this ‘dry’. I add my soy milk, or whatever liquid I’m in the mood for along with my frozen ingredients. The drinking lid is good, I keep worrying that the cap is going to snap, something about the hinge and the force of it snapping back after pressing the button worries me in regard to wear overtime. Yes, the quality is great, but maybe some time of reinforcement to keep the cap from snapping back all the way. Also, it would be awesome if they came out with a lid option with a thick straw! But, luckily I have a straw that fits, so all good- but it would be nice to have a built in one.
But, overall I absolutely love my BlendBoss. The blast wasn’t strong enough, so I was using the OG ninja blender up until a month ago when I got the Blend Boss. -

So far, I’ve used it mostly for frozen drinks and it works great. Also, it takes up less counter space than a regular full-size blender. Personally, I’m not crazy about the color but it is “cute”.
