Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Exceptional Cooking Performance: The appliance consistently delivers perfectly crispy and juicy food, cooking evenly and quickly for various meals and reheats, often exceeding expectations for crispiness and taste.
  • Versatile & Healthy Glass Containers: Reviewers appreciate the non-toxic glass containers that allow them to monitor food as it cooks, are dishwasher safe for easy cleaning, and offer the convenience of prepping, cooking, serving, and storing food in one dish.
  • Ease of Use & Convenience: The controls are simple and intuitive, making cooking straightforward and fast. Many users highlight the quick heating, lack of preheating requirement, and overall simplicity that makes cooking enjoyable and efficient.

Cons

  • Limited Cooking Surface Area: Despite its stated capacity (e.g., 6-quart), the actual cooking surface area is often considered too small, being taller rather than wide, which limits the ability to cook multiple items in a single layer for a family.
  • Heavy Glass Containers: The glass cooking containers, especially the 6-quart size, are noted for being heavy, which can make them challenging to handle, insert, remove, and wash by hand.
  • Strong Fan Displaces Food: The powerful fan can blow lighter food items, such as pizza toppings or bacon, around inside the container, sometimes requiring users to improvise solutions like placing a trivet over the food.

We had the old Crispi – at first we just used it to reheat food when needed, but lately we been cooking with it more and more to the point it earned its place on the counter, and once the new big version came out, we said goodbye to the regular air fryer – which was also ninja but the toxics from the non stick pan was on our minds since it became a thing, so we threw it out and decided to to get the pro. Best choice ever – glass container to see the food cook and a light to help you, if needed – best choice ever, and I know it’s a bit pricey but so worth it – we now cook on both the small one for fries, corn – bread, etc and the pro for meats, best choice that you won’t regret

With a toaster oven/air fryer combo, it was kind of hard to really believe that a standalone air fryer made sense, but we now understand that we really have not been getting a true “air fryer” experience for all these years. This Crispi Pro had me intrigued, though, with the claims of being able to bake, dehydrate, and air fry, all in a clear glass pan.

My first test with some frozen sweet potato fries and a chicken strip. I decided to give them a try together. Everything on air fry mode has the same temperature setting, just slightly different time suggestions. Since both had time overlaps, I figured it was worth a shot. The instructions say to toss fries partway into the cycle, but since it was a small amount in a single layer and the instructions are for a much larger serving, I figured it was fine. I was successful in cooking both for the same amount of time and yielding a nice, hot crispy chicken strip and a pretty good serving of fries that were mostly evenly cooked to my liking. They weren’t all crispy the way I’d like, but I probably could have gotten better results by cooking only fries alone and moving them around during the frying cycle.

It’s really nice to be able to see the food so clearly while it’s cooking to know if anything is starting to burn.

My kids have used the bake cycle to heat up Eggo waffles and they say it makes them taste superior to toasting them! They get so crispy and perfectly toasted. My husband used this to reheat some plain cake donuts and it made them crispy on the outside and nice and warm and fluffy on the inside.

I think my favorite feature of this air fryer vs. my toaster over/air fryer combo is the glass containers. My toaster/air fryer combo uses a wire basket with a metal baking pan under it to catch any oil drippings. It is the most painstaking job to clean these things if it’s not done constantly because the oil starts to burn onto the metal and there are too many tiny crevices in the wire basket to try to scrub between. It’s never completely clean and it drives me crazy. The inside of the toaster/fryer has so many heating elements and surfaces that you just cannot reach or shouldn’t be scrubbing that it’s gotten so bad over the years, we’ve just come to accept that it’s not the cleanest anymore. I think what it comes down to is you can’t have it all in one appliance and a toaster and air fryer need to be two separate things, but point being that a glass pan is so easy to clean up. The silicone coated tray inside is smooth and cleans up with no problems at all.

Though the lids are a neat feature, I don’t foresee having leftovers in a large enough quantity to ever need to use them.

I do feel that the space that this takes up is quite a bit, though. I had to clear out a fair amount of space in my cabinets as I don’t have counter space, much less want counter clutter anyway. I store the pans separate from the frying unit, so I really needed a lot of space cleared for this. The pans themselves are disappointingly small for something that brags to have baking ability. While the pans might be “square” and 9″ across at the top, they taper and contour in a rounded shape at the bottom that make it more like 7″ at the narrowest edge. So, I wouldn’t call these 9×9 baking pans. We’ve also used this for dehydrating sweet potatoes for my dogs, which worked well, but as you can imagine, with such a limited surface area, we could only do such a small amount at a time.

So, in the end, this thing works great, but it’s a pretty large unit and kind of a deceptive size. For the footprint, you are not getting as large of a frying area as you think you are getting. But, the ease of cleaning, great air frying results, and ability to clearly see your food as it’s cooking have all been huge plusses that have made our family give this unit a thumbs up.

Review for Ninja Crispi Pro 6-in-1 Glass Air Fryer: LOVE, love this!!! We had purchased a different model Ninja air fryer in the summer and really liked it. We were considering getting a larger model tho, because we had problems with cooking for more than just the two of us. Enter this glass air fryer with a 6-quart container. First test was sweet potatoes fries. Our older one could only do up half a bag… the whole bag was almost lost in the 6-quart container it is so huge! And they were all done just right, with no raw or burnt spots. Since then, we have had chicken strips, egg rolls, etc. and everything has come out tasting just great!
Another great function is no preheating! This is SO easy to use. and I love watching the food (it is even lit). The 2-quart size is just right for a smaller 2-person portion, and we will definitely get the 4-quart container which as not included. I would give this ten stars if I could. It’s easy to clean up… you can serve right from the heating container… it has silicon bottom and handles. The only thing is it’s a bit tricky to dry between the silicon and glass bottom. You just have to be patient and air dry. Also, this does not take up near the space of the other. Great item!

Be an even more adultier adult. I had an air fryer for a while now. It was ok. It crisped up food, it warmed up left overs. However, mainly it was just a pain because the basket never got really clean, even in the dish washer, and I was always shaking old bits of food out of it when it was finished. So I saw this on the Vine and I was like “bet.”
First of all, the fryer bit is ON TOP so you don’t have to shake out food bits.
Second of all, no PREHEATING!!!! Whaaaaa? I mean, you can if you want to, but you don’t really have to with this guy.
The glass containers. Ya’ll the glass containers. I literally put my little rack thing in the bottom, put the food on top, cook and then..I CAN JUST PUT IT IN THE FRIDGE WITH A LID WHEN I AM DONE? I don’t have to dirty up another dish, I can just pop it under the fryer with out a lid the next day to crisp it up?!! Witchery.
It comes with 2 dishes. A small and a large. Why not the medium? I don’t know, but I will more than likely buy it.

DISH. WASHER. SAFE. Since it is glass, it doesn’t get that nasty film on it and you can just pop it in the dishwasher (not the actual fryer bit but you know everything else).
Also, since it is glass you can see the food cooking. It even has a light so you can like fry food by romantic lighting.

How easy is it? Twirl a knob and punch a button. It’s more complicated to unlock your partners phone.

How much does it hold? I put 1/2 pound of cut potatoes, 4 large bone in/skin on chicken thighs and set it for 20 minutes, rotated it and set it for 15 more. Everything good up so good and the skin on the chicken was CRISPY AS ALL GET OUT. I am sure I could put a fryer chicken in it or a small roast.

Functionality: I have given the old air fryer away. I am an air fryer convert. I was looking at this brand before the deal popped up, because everything I’ve ever had from Ninja has lasted for a long time. This is amazing. 10 stars if I could!

UPDATE: I bought a turkey breast (bone in) for Thanksgiving. Thawed out the meat, seasoned that sucker up and popped it in the air fryer. 20 mins on the back and then carefully flip it over for 20-25 mins breast side up and it was the easiest turkey and clean up I have ever done. I even stored the turkey in the container in the fridge and heated it up the next day.

I feel I am pretty familiar with air fryers, and my most recent one was a Ninja, so I am familiar with that brand of air fryers as well. I feel qualified to give this in depth review 🙂

The Ninja Crispi pro has great power! It can easily cook frozen meat all the way through! Its max temp is 450 which is quite good! It has lots of different settings, and for all of them except “max crisp” you can adjust the temperature.

Working it is fairly simple, which is one thing I do like about Ninja air fryers. It doesn’t have those fancy alarms to remind you to shake the basket or anything like that. I like that. Makes it much easier in my opinion.

The Crispi Pro is versatile! I absolutely love how I can cook and store all in the same container! The containers are very durable and sturdy and the lids fit very nicely and you get a good seal. I was a little hesitant about the movable base, but it is actually very easy to move, and stays in place quite well. The glass bowls are some kind of shock proof, so it won’t break going from cold to hot or vice versa.

I will say one handed operation is easier in a basket style. Those I can pull out one handed, shake and put back in. With the Crispi Pro you have to pull it out with both hands. There is a sturdy holder with grips, those do get hot at times but not near as hot as the glass, so you may need pot holders.

I do really like this air fryer, but let’s address one of the main things, the cost.
Personally, I think $279 at the time of this review is pretty steep. My previous Ninja air fryer was a basket style and less than half the cost of Crispi Pro and cooked just as well. Of course, there is the concern of not using glass for the bowls, and it having those chemicals they are now saying is bad.

TLDR: great air fryers, very powerful, but pretty expensive.

I already have a decent air fryer, but the glass containers really appealed to me.
User friendly with easy controls and operations.
The glass containers are a little heavy, especially full of food which might be an issue for some people.

My first use was a simple chicken casserole. The cheese and panko bread crumbs on top got a little too well-done, so next time I will put them on at the halfway mark. Not really an issue, though this is a recipe I will continue to do in my standard oven.

Second use was the classic air fryer staple – salmon filets with broccoli. Came out perfect!
Salmon done to perfection and the broccoli tender without being mushy.
Chicken breasts would likely be just as simple with the same result.

Being able to prep the dish first and then put a top on it for cooking later is a very nice function of the glass containers.

The fryer doesn’t take up too much counter space and looks really cool in the kitchen but could easily store in a cabinet if you have the room.

Any quality air fryer will do the job of cooking food right, and the Ninja brand does have a higher price point than most due to brand recognition, but the glass containers with storage lids and ease of use of this Ninja make it a win.

I got the Ninja Crispi Pro to make weeknight meals simpler and have less cleanup and this is amazing. The glass containers are non-toxic, easy to clean, and perfect for prepping, cooking, and storing in one dish. The air fryer itself is powerful and makes tons of things like crispy veggies to baked salmon super easy.

-Comes with 6qt and 2.5qt glass containers and leakproof storage lids
-It’s microwave, freezer, and dishwasher safe
-Modular base fits multiple container sizes (2.5qt, 4qt, 6qt)
-It has 1800W power and you can make large meals (up to 7.5-lb chicken)

    What I Liked
-Glass containers are non-toxic, odor-resistant, and easy to clean
-Meal prep friendly so you can cook, store, and reheat in one dish
-Precise temperature control and even cooking

    What I Didn’t Like
-takes up quite a bit of counter space
    -Heavy glass containers

    Durability
After using it a few times the glass containers show no signs of wear, and the base heats evenly. My favorite kitchen toy.

    Value for Money
At around $279.99, it’s an investment but one that pays off because I’m spending less time cooking and more time with my kids and they still get an amazing meal. Yes it’s pricy but you pay for what you get and the brand says it all.
