The unit is beautiful and very well designed. I actually use it for two small dogs, a Pomeranian and a Yorkie. Once you understand how it works, and put in a suitable clumping litter, you’re good to go. The dogs took right to it, and now poop management is much easier. I still get a kick as the grate approaches the poop drawer, the lid glides open, the grate deposits the poop into the drawer, and the lid glides shut. Good job PetSafe.

This is a great automatic litterbox. It does a great job of pushing 90% of the waste into the waste bin. There are still a few small clumps left after each use but I manually take those out. With this I don’t have to constantly check on the litter box to clean it. Keep in mind that you did get a cat and that has some responsibility. No automatic litterbox will get 100% of the waste AND be easy to clean as well. For the price and convenience, I like it a lot. I do wish it came with a hood but that is available as a separate purchase. Ive been using Purina Tidy Cats clumping litter and its been great.
I looked at a lot of the other reviews for this and for some of them the users didn’t have it aligned properly with the litter tray since it’s a separate component. Make sure it lines up and is fully sealed. I do see concerns about long term reliability with the motorized mechanism but so far, its working fine. If it breaks Ill update this review.

Customer service is non existent. Did not respond to emails at all. Went in the trash after I could not get the scoop back on the rails.
