The "Noah's Arc" of litter boxes

Round litter box that raked the materials onto a conveyor and deposited them into a waste bin. LOVED IT! But it finally broke to a point that no amount of super glue could repair it, and PetSafe discontinued the model in it’s entirety.
So sticking with the brand, I ordered this unit. Other an the blasted thing is HUGE and uses a 1/2 box of litter every week or so, it works well! I wish the waste bin didn’t need a specific sized bag (thank you, Walmart for carrying the 8-gallon bag!) to make it easy clean. But it works! Cats like it.
If the basement ever floods out, it can probably be used as a flotation device…

I am replacing the old one because it is worn out.
I tried the new round one, but my cat is long and I believe she felt cramped. she did not like it and would pee thru the door. We now have the new old style and she is happy again, buy the one with the hood. -

It works great for about a month, then we start to have issues with the rake stopping mid-cycle. It gets crooked and no amount of cleaning and resetting will fix it. We have cleaned every speck of litter out and still get the same results. Eventually, after 2 months or so, we get the red light of death and the rake stops working altogether. We have tried troubleshooting with customer support, and each time, they have given up and sent us a new litter box and we return the broken one. I might believe we just received a faulty box if the same issue hadn’t recurred three different times in the exact same way.

cski February 10, 2025Review source: AmazonI have one cat. The litter tray holds about three days worth of waste. I do empty it before it is full, but that is my preference. I am disappointed that the litter sticks to the bottom of the tray and I need to scrape the bottom every few days to make sure it’s clean. I bought the clump and slide litter thinking it would not stick to the bottom, but it does. It seems the rakes does not go all the way to the bottom of the litter. The waste also gets caught in the rake. But all in all I’m decently happy with this box. At least I no longer need to scoop the litter box every day.

I have one indoor cat and I kept the box clean and well cared for. It died a couple weeks ago. The scooping bar will only move around 1/4” and the. Stops and goes back the other way. Not dependable and definately not worth the money.

I wouldn’t say that they are silent they are not. Every 4 to 8 weeks you want to clean them entirely as they do start to smell only because you are adding litter to it. These litter boxes do help with time saving and with having 6 cats my house does not smell like a litter box. The box where the poop is scooped into is medium sized so you want to check it every 3 days if you have multiple cats. The machine will stop if a cat jumps in it which is great. Will continue when the cat jumps back out. No reason to scoop anything as it is self cleaning. It’s also easy to assemble.

January 25, 2025Review source: AmazonPurchased this litter box to upgrade my original June of 2024. 2-3 weeks later the scraper got stuck at an angle half way through the cycle. Contacted PetSafe and they promptly sent me a new one. Had that one until January of 2025 and it did the same thing. During that time I tried the clumping litter in it as it says it can handle. I won’t do that ever again. There was a layer of sludge at the bottom that the litter box did not clean and it stunk so bad. The draw is too tight to put a bag in so I have to scrub that each time. When 2nd litter box messed up I contacted pet safe again and they sent me another new one. Found out at that point that they haven’t had enough complaints about this box to escalate the issue to the correct people. I said well this is the 2nd time I have had an issue in less than 6mo. They responded by saying we have added a note to your account so if you have issues with this new one they will finally send the issue to the correct people. So Pet safe is continuing to sell this litter box with all the issues and not even trying to fix them. If this 3rd box screws up I will be asking for a refund from them and will find me something different.
