Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Odor Control: Several reviewers highlight the litter box's ability to control odors, especially when used with appropriate clumping litter. Some reviewers mention that they no longer notice any litter box smell in their homes.
  • Cat Acceptance: Many cats readily accepted and used the litter box, with some even enjoying watching the cleaning process. Some reviewers noted that their cats preferred this box over other automatic models.
  • Convenience: Customers appreciate the convenience of automatic scooping, which reduces the time and effort required for litter box maintenance. The easy-to-remove waste drawer is also frequently mentioned as a positive feature.

Cons

  • Reliability Issues: A significant number of reviewers report that the litter box stopped working or experienced mechanical failures (such as the rake getting stuck) within a few months of purchase. Some reviewers mention that the plastic parts are prone to breaking.
  • Noise Level: Many reviewers describe the litter box as loud or noisy during operation, which can be disruptive, especially in smaller living spaces or at night. The noise is often attributed to the motor or the rake scraping against the box.
  • Ineffective Cleaning: Several reviewers note that the rake does not effectively clean the litter box, leaving waste behind or pushing clean litter into the waste bin. Some mention that the rake doesn't reach the bottom of the pan, leading to a build-up of soiled litter.

Does the job for most part but can be pretty hard to clean especially the clumps that don’t rake out.

The litter box works fine but it pushes clean litter along side with the poop so it wastes a lot of litter, at the end of the day you might have to scoop the litter in the bin. When there is an issue with the box the support system is to replace the box, you send over the malfunction one and they send you a brand new one, which might be good for some people. I personally prefer something segmented or modular where you can just repair/replace the part that is causing the issue.

    If i could rate it a 0 i would September 5, 2024

I rate this a 0! the machine didnt even clean up the pee, there is obvious left over and look at how the clumped up litter is stuck on the metal rake. Also another big thing is how much litter it threw out. look at all the perfectly good litter that’s dumped in there. i’m better off cleaning the litter my self than to use this slow rake that doesn’t even clean well.

  4. Cat urine leaks all over the floor

I bought this and feel like it’s the worst money I spent. It’s great if you can anticipate that your cat will only ever pee in the center of the box. but because there is no cover to it, it’s likely your cat is at some point going to pee on the side and the sides are not a single seam so the cat urine leaks out through the bottom where there are two sets of holes. Also, the scooping mechanism gets stuck a few times a week. I had such high hopes for this, but it was truly awful in the end.

We have three indoor cats and we wanted a self cleaning litter box to help us keep up. We wanted each cat to have their own box, so price was a major factor in our decision. We chose to buy this brand despite the shaky reviews due to the price point.

Positives: 1) fairly simple assembly, 2) it works! The boxes are swept after each use and the cats seem to happy with it, 3) I am able to use the clumping litter they we used to and that keeps operating costs down, and 4) it’s fairly simple to use and clean

Challenges: 1) I have one skiddish cat that is scared of the noise and motion it makes and refuses to use it, I have to keep a manual litter box still for her, 2) the grates are fairly wide which means it misses smaller clumps, once a week I manually clean out the smaller pieces, 3) for some reason it kicks out a lot of clean litter in the dump bin, to save money I use my manual scooper to clean the dump bin and put the unused litter back in the box.

In summary, it’s not completely automatic, but for all its challenges, it’s still very helpful to us and our kitties. I don’t regret buying them.

  8. Can’t Recommend.

This product is so much worse than the original version it makes me wonder if they did it on purpose just because they can’t make you pay $25 for the litter refill trays with this one. I previously had the tray model that was so frustratingly expensive that I was thrilled when this model came out. My cats would get the crystal litter stuck in their toes and it was all over the apartment. I love that you don’t need to buy this brands litter with this version of the box but that might be it’s only pro. The take is constantly getting stuck and it is so frustrating to fix. This one is also MUCH louder. My box is in the next room over and it wakes me up in the night. It’s also just Slightly larger than the original which means it doesn’t fit in the enclosure I had the previous one in. It’s hard to find a cabinet for this one’s dimensions as it’s just much wider than most litter boxes on the market. I disliked this model so much I went back to normal scooping. If you are going to go with the scoop free box, I recommend the crystal litter tray system. It’s SO insane how much the refill boxes are but at least the machine works so you know your cat will have a clean place to go.

This thing should have a zipper holding it together instead of screws. Has quit working several times about once every two months if it even runs that long. Was held together by six screws I quit putting all six back in because of having to take it apart so often. It’s good when it’s working. Update ended up throwing it away The product needs to be sent back to research and development for further testing and development.

  10. Very nice upgrade for kitty and for me

This has been a nice addition to our home. Kitty has a clean box to jump in every single time she has to go which is great! She still comes back and stares at it though she doesn’t quite get what’s going on in the pooper. LOL. I use regular clumping litter in this and find I have to change the catch liner bag twice a week. It is not flawless but I feel it was worth the investment. The flaw is that my cat seems to pee to the back so it clumps up behind the rake. Therefore I start it manually then have to scoop back there and scrape the rake. Not idea but I don’t see a way around it. It is still easier and more sanitary than what we were doing before. If I had to purchase again…..I would.
