It is a good option to try and save money. The reviews of it being loud are accurate. The rake seems to take forever to finish the cycle but I am saving a lot of money by using this box instead.
I noticed that you need to use crystals and not the clumping litter. The clumps get stuck in the rake and it is a nightmare to clean.
Also they sell litter bags that fit the tray and they are worth every penny. I use the fresh step crystal and do not fill it over the line. Any higher and the cleaning take gets stuck.
All litter boxes have flaws but I think for me this box is a good choice. -

It’s easier to remove the waste receptacle and change the bag. Also, the waste receptacle is larger, so I don’t have to change it as often as the old one. The litter area is larger, which is good for my large size cat. The one major drawback is that it’s loud. Much louder than my old one. And the rake moves very slowly, so that noise lasts a long time when it runs its cycle. So mostly good, but also very noisy.

It was easy to set up. It did take her cat a few days before she would use it – but that could have been a combination of both a new litter box as well as moving to a new place. But once she used it, she kept using it. It is a little loud but it does a decent job of cleaning the litter box.
