It’s not too noisy when you put regular cat litter in, but when you put the petsafe crystal litter in it, it sounds like it’s breaking up the crystal litter as it rakes through it and unfortunately I need to use the crystal litter because the regular clay litter, I am a little allergic to it. If it wasn’t for the cracking and breaking up sounds that happens when the rake is going through i would of given this product a 5 stars instead of 4

Worked okay until 9 months later it died

Only minor maintenance – much less cumbersome than a traditional litter box. About 9 months after we had it, it started scooping and then on the way back it would just stop in the middle and flash the red light.
It’s basically useless because the rake gets stuck in the middle and my cat won’t use half the box. Not sure if it’s worth the money if it only lasts 9 months.
I’m pretty handy with gadgets & machine fixes – the cleaning sensors didn’t fix it – nor was there any issue with the gears or motor – it’s like it just forgets to do what it’s supposed to do. Couldn’t do anything to fix this. More plastic for the land fill.

You’ll waste a lot of litter

I have one cat.. one.. the box shoves so much litter into the bin with the waste that after a 4 day trip, it’s overflowing the waste collection bin. I called pet safe to address it and they acted like they were completely unaware. However, You’ll see other reviews saying the same thing on amazon.
I have to empty bin every three days, back into the box, then scoop it by hand to get the ridiculous amount of litter back into the litter box and just toss the clumps. Completely defeats the point of this automated box!
I had their last version, sadly discontinued, for years, worked great, empty once a week. I really want to like this box and design but it sucks. I would never recommend this to anyone.

Not large enough and heavy

Our cats like it, but the rake has the issues

The rake will push the clean litter into the drawer, because of the large clumps.
And right after the return window closed. Ours got the red light. The rake will not retract. We have reset it, we have cleaned it. The rake is stuck.

What can a say but it works..

Keeps my goofy dog out of the dirty litter and stays looking nice. The only thing I honestly dont like is how loud it can be at night when the cat decides to do its duty. To fix this i bought a wifi smart plug and i plan having the litterbox turned off at night and on during the day. Its not the end all be all and thats the only reason why i knocked it down 1 star. Other then that if you have an area thats away from near where you sleep this thing will be great and probably would never even notice it running. If its in the same room forget it you will hear scraping and scratching of the litter not so much the machine running to move the rake.
