    Box came quickly and setup was easy. Unfortunately that’s about where the good sentiment ends. After ONE DAY of operation, the rake moves to the litter tray end then gets stuck. You can hear the motor try to move the rake back home, but there is no movement.

    Called customer support and was walked through troubleshooting steps. When it was determined that this item needed to be replaced I was told that they would not send a replacement until the old one ships back to them. Leaving me and my two cats without a litter box for 7-10 business days.

    Meaning, I have to spend even more money than the $250 for this item to buy a new, cheap litter box as well as a box to return the unit in.

    I can’t currently recommend this product to anyone.

    I like it but it just doesn’t work consistently. It seems to get “confused” and cannot return to its resting place after scraping— especially if something (like cat excrements) are there. It also almost hurt my cat because it was trying to clean while she was using it. It could have hurt her.

    Still testing this new edition and finding out is doesn’t like the Crystal litter very much but prefers standard clumping clay litter. I am trying out a corn based litter now called “World’s Best Litter” and it very well might be as it seems to work very well with this machine.

    After about 9 months of use the unit stopped working and no amount of troubleshooting seemed to work. At that point Petsafe fulfilled their duty and sent a new unit. I will try some different cat litter with the new unit to see if it works better with that.

    The design needs to be changed some. The rake leaves traces of urine. Almost like the rakes are a little too far apart from each other, and maybe not deep enough. And the other problem I find, the bigger problem is. To me the tray needs to lip over a little more the waste container.
    When I pull the waste container tray out, there always seems to be a lot of litter under the tray.
    Other than that, which I’ll just deal with. It beats manually cleaning it all the time.

    I can say the cats like it, but the rakes do not go all the way to the bottom of the pan and I still have to scoop the bottom to get some of the litter that is stuck on the bottom. It also uses more cat litter than I expected to use. There is a lot of waste of litter.

    Right off the bat, I was suprised at how large this litter box is! I didn’t take measurements to know for myself.

    It was super easy to get up and running, which I loved! I did buy litter box plastic bag liners to put in the base, and then used a plastic grocery bag in the compartment where it dumps after scooping.

    I filled them up, and ran a cycle to see how it worked (and to make sure it does work) and looks great!

    As of right now, my cats are spooked by the new boxes, so hopefully they adjust quickly, as they are picky. I would have to scoop their box daily (before I got them I could go 2 days with my other cats) and if you don’t, they will pee outside of the box 🥴 so I really hope they like this and get used to it, as cleaning up cat pee is not fun. Hahahh!

    I will update in a month or two, but so far right off the bat, I’m pleased!

    This is a good product because it’s suitable for multiple cats and offers superior odor control. This is a game changer for cat households! However, there are some downsides. The price of the product is on the higher side and could be more affordable. And while the self-cleaning feature is great, the noise level of the raking system is a bit too loud. In spite of these, I still think it’s a good buy.
