Pros & Cons
Pros
- Odor Control: Several reviewers highlight the litter box's ability to control odors, especially when used with appropriate clumping litter. Some reviewers mention that they no longer notice any litter box smell in their homes.
- Cat Acceptance: Many cats readily accepted and used the litter box, with some even enjoying watching the cleaning process. Some reviewers noted that their cats preferred this box over other automatic models.
- Convenience: Customers appreciate the convenience of automatic scooping, which reduces the time and effort required for litter box maintenance. The easy-to-remove waste drawer is also frequently mentioned as a positive feature.
Cons
- Reliability Issues: A significant number of reviewers report that the litter box stopped working or experienced mechanical failures (such as the rake getting stuck) within a few months of purchase. Some reviewers mention that the plastic parts are prone to breaking.
- Noise Level: Many reviewers describe the litter box as loud or noisy during operation, which can be disruptive, especially in smaller living spaces or at night. The noise is often attributed to the motor or the rake scraping against the box.
- Ineffective Cleaning: Several reviewers note that the rake does not effectively clean the litter box, leaving waste behind or pushing clean litter into the waste bin. Some mention that the rake doesn't reach the bottom of the pan, leading to a build-up of soiled litter.

Nice

After 12 years of manually scooping, I had enough plus we are taking a one week vacation in a few weeks with friends staying here to take care of three dogs and the cat. I didn’t want them to clean a cat box, ugh. This has been a lifesaver, works great and keeps me from breaking my back. Love it. Good price too compared to some. ❤️

Initially disappointed. Warranty Replacement was great
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Vary February 11, 2024Review source: AmazonArrived broken and unusable. I contacted the Petsafe customer service. I also subsequently filed a claim under the 1 yr warranty and they are sending me a replacement after I provided the proof of purchase. Let’s see how the replacement works out. I’ll keep u all posted. The warranty claim was pretty easy.

The only automatic litterbox that works for our cats
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Paul February 6, 2024Review source: AmazonWe have tried a few automatic litterbox. This is the only one that works so far for our cats, very close to what we want. For other products, they either don’t work or our cats refused to use them. The only issue with this product is that it pushes some good litters into the waster box, but it is okay…just separate it when dumping the waste.

Works good enough
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.ErnieJenny February 1, 2024Review source: AmazonThis honestly despite all its flaws works great for automatic litter cleaning. I don’t have to visit the litter bin everyday twice a day minimum anymore. I can go days before I have to dump the reservoir of poo and pee. It also stays really clean and so you don’t have to clean the reservoir at all.
The flaws, it doesn’t clean the very bottom perfectly, especially when it’s heavily soiled with pee. I sometimes have to clean that area every so often. Also, it is rather large but still worth it. Loud!
All these flaws aside I would highly recommend anyway. -
Broken

Nice,Loud,Slow
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Leslie W January 22, 2024Review source: AmazonIt’s a great box, I didn’t have the money or room for the big round ones. My video is in fast motion it takes about 3 and a half minutes for a full cycle. Although that may not seem long the noise it makes can drive you nuts. The advertisement never scoop again. In my case not true, my cats pee begins the rake where I have to start a cycle scoop what’s stuck to the back toss it front of the rake to have a clean box. Overall it’s a good “self cleaning” box
RE-REVIEW : I’m sending it back. I’m constantly scooping, seems like i’m using more litter. the litter gets up underneath. I bought this to make my cat sitters life easier when i’m out of town. she’d probably quit. -
Love this litter box
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Daniel Burgess January 22, 2024Review source: AmazonSo our cat is very finicky when it comes to her litter box. If it was neglected and not cleaned daily, she would go anywhere in the house. Ever since we got this automatic litter box, we had no surprises around the house. It can be loud but you would eventually get used to it and you won’t notice it. Highly recommend if you have a smaller budget.

Big Step Up
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Laura SC January 22, 2024Review source: AmazonAfter several years, my Littermaid automatic scooping box gave up the ghost, so I finally replaced it with this one. It’s a huge upgrade in every way! The bin is large and easy to slide out and empty, with no fiddling with plastic inserts at all. It’s too large to line with a plastic grocery bag (which I could do with the Littermaid one), but those are also no longer legal in my state, so it’s not a huge concern.
The metal rake seems much sturdier and easier to clean than the plastic ones, and the way the assembly fits together made it easier to wrangle into position and will probably make a full clean easier too.
I’ve tried a number of expensive litter solutions. The Litter Robot took up a huge amount of space and the cats never used it because they were, somewhat reasonably, freaked out by it. The Cat Genie (the one that flushes the waste) is extremely cool when it works, and thankfully the cats aren’t bothered by the noise it makes, but with my 1950’s plumbing (inexpertly adjusted by flippers over the years), it can be a bit troublesome. The moving rake ones are the winners for me for sure– and they’re a few hundred dollars less expensive than the fancier ones). -
loud and not for side peers
Incentivized Incentivized review: The reviewer received a benefit for sharing feedback.RE January 21, 2024Review source: AmazonHad this litter box for only a short time. I like the fact you can use clumping litter. However, the cleaning process is extremely loud and noisy. So much that I can hear it in the next room. So far it seems to be working well. However, My cat is very fearful of going in it after being scared off by the noise of it cleaning. I’m trying it leaving it unplugged for several days to give her an adjustment period and see If she gets over the fear of it. If they could improve on the noise factor I think it would be a good product. I would also like to mention it is quite large so you need adequate space for it. The sides are not too tall, and if your cat tend to pee on the sides, then you might have some leakage.
