Great self cleaning litter box but I think it's a bit overpriced

We recently moved in with my grandmother. She has 5 cats! And it’s hard for her to bend down and clean the litter box. So I started looking into getting an automatic litter box. I knew it had to be one with an open top so the larger cat and the ones who are more afraid would use it. Well, I was fortunate enough to be to get this one.This came in a large and rather heavy box. It was packed very nicely and was easy to setup. However, I’m not sure an elderly person would be able to lift it. So just keep that in mind.
And for a litter box that cost nearly $600 (after tax) I was pretty annoyed that it didn’t come with paper instructions. You have to scan the QR Code and read everything on your phone. This is just a nuisance, especially for older people who may not even know how to do this.
So far the litter box is serving it’s purpose. A couple complaints… Some of the litter gets stuck to the bottom of the box and is hard to get off due to that silicone type of material. Also, as you can see in the video. A piece of poop got stuck to the back sifter thing. Now this is the first time that’s happened and it might have been because I scared the cat trying to get the video. I haven’t really messed with the app yet, other than downloading it. I will update my review once I have done so.
I would say that the box is pretty quiet which is nice. But since there are no instructions in the box whatsoever. I’m unsure if the litter needs to be dumped on occasion and when and how to do so. Also, please be aware that you need to remove the litter box from the base to clean it. It isn’t super heavy but isn’t light and is kind of awkward. So if you’re someone who has a hard time picking up heavy or large items this may not be for you.
Overall, I don’t know if it’s really worth almost $600 but so far I’m happy with it and glad I got it. It has almost eliminated the smell which is wonderful. I did remove a star due to the inconvenience caused by the lack of paper instructions.
*My video was too large so I had to cut the quality by 60% and speed it up just to get it to upload… So it actually takes about 2 mins to go through the cycle.

I got this because we are trying for another baby and it is strongly advised I not be around Litter so I thought this would be a perfect solution. I think the look is very nice and I really appreciate being able to use my own natural litter (Worlds Best) instead of being locked into a machine-compatible litter only. (World’s Best works fantastically with this machine, by the way!). I went back and forth on whether to get it for a long time because I don’t want many smart devices in my home, but I am overall glad I went with it. We’ll see how it lasts overtime! Set up was very easy and the litter area has been staying so much more clean. This product has highly lowered my stress levels!! Smell is gone!!!! Definitely worth every penny.

I find it necessary to wipe off the small amount of litter that may stick to the top section after the cleaning process but this is so much easier than the old way. My cat adjusted immediately and at first was curious and put her paw on it during the cleaning but it stops operating so is very safe. Have only emptied the pan a couple times and probably will do it before the indicator says it’s full since it is pretty heavy when full. I got a sale, otherwise is pricey but one of the best purchases I have made.

I also love the look of this particular model. It looks so nice compared to a dirty box lol. I would say it’s definitely worth it, and a good value. I would 100% recommend, and wish I could go back in time and recommend to myself to get it sooner!

I walked through the instructions to fix it probably 3 times solo. And then another time with Amazon product support. Still no go. Products support told me to reach out to manufacturer and under the warranty I should be able to initiate the replacement process without the hassle of returning defective item. The manufacturer said otherwise, and I wouldn’t have s replacement until after the new year. My cat is at home in a smaller that normal area to use for going to the bathroom and it doesn’t clean. I’m left to go to a store and purchase something else that I didn’t necessarily want, so that he can do his business. I was willing to give the company another try, but the customer service was too poor
Also, i do not recommend for larger cats. He about 12 pounds and it just looked uncomfortable turning around in it.
