I have 4 cats and they poop a lot (they are all healthy, don’t worry haha) because they eat so much and I didn’t mind cleaning their 3 litter boxes daily but this device is such a relief. Very easy to set up, comes with everything you need to and clear instructions you can follow step by step. If you want to customize it to your desire you can download the app which is available for apple and android and it’s also very easy to set up and allows you to change the delay clean setting which in my experience is best to set between 15-20 minutes, especially if cats are getting used to the machine so that they don’t get scare that easily. You can also lock buttons in app with the child lock setting, turn off lights and if you plan on using one of these cat litter boxes in your bedroom you can turn on sleep mode.
There is a function that I find nice too and it’s the registry of cats weight which I find very helpful if you have cats that deal with health issues. Machine looks very nice and aesthetic so I don’t really found a reason to hide it. I plan on buying more of these cause I have really enjoyed the experience and freedom this provides. I just need to remove the trash bag a couple times a week and that’s all the effort I need to make apart from monthly cleaning the machine and changing the litter box. About the Noise Level I can say that I’ve been using my first one in my office and there’s no problem at all with the noise, very low and nothing too disturbing and annoying. I definitely recommend this self cleaning cat litter box! -

I’m so mad at myself for throwing the box away the second I got it. It gets nasty QUICK — changing sift time does not matter. It still gets NASTY. Then you have to clear the box, take the barrel out, hose it out, let it dry and put it back again every 3-4 days. It’s so much work compare to the round barrel type. (Picture at the end of the others)
Let me preface with I purchased this as a second litter box to one that I currently have. (I have owned pet safe products in the past.). I currently have a TikTok auto litter box that works better than this one and cost less.
I liked this specific one because of the openness due to my big adult cat, but it wastes so much litter!!!! It’s just a good concept, poor execution. I researched for days for a more open auto litter box. I knew pet safe brand but this one is something I would NOT recommend. The openness is amazing, but the fact that it could not tell that my kitten was inside the litter box and started turning with him in it is a huge issue; he and my other cat are even added as pets with their exact weight in the app.
I am extremely disappointed in this purchase. The set up was simple took less than 10 minutes. The cats go in it easily. I just don’t think it’s worth the money that you’re spending for it in anyway. There are other Kat boxes on Amazon that I guarantee you are better than this one.

There also isn’t a reset button to reset the system and reset the door, so the litterbox is bricked because of that. A different automated litter box we had in the past with another brand always had the reset button if anything broke.
Petsafe’s support said the only way to reset it is to take it all apart (like unscrew everything and put it back together, which is ridiculous) or to use the warranty to hopefully get it replaced or fixed.
It didn’t even last 2 months yet and the lack of resetting options for the device is a complete design flaw. For a $400 product I would expect it to have a resetting option.
Hopefully we can get it replaced or fixed, but until then I’m leaving a 1 star review.

How did poop get there?!
OSC October 9, 2025Review source: AmazonWe have had this for over a year and we’re considering getting something different. We loved the small size for our tight space and the cycle is very quiet. Plus it does a good job of containing the smells. But, there are many other issues. Somehow, they created unnecessary places for dirty litter to accumulate, making cleaning so difficult. Like the track that the unit rotates on manages to get used litter in the tiny grooves, because when waste is dropping down it’s can get caught between the drawer and the unit and then smear its way around. Also, the unit is constantly getting stuck. About 4 times per week we have to unplug/replug the unit to force it to run.
Worst part is that we bought this right when it came out at the $500 price tag. -

I’ll start with the app: it’s easy to use and to connect it shows the time it was used as well as the weight of the cat (for my cats the weight wasn’t exactly accurate but pretty close) you can have it rotate the litter on the app as well. I find the app straightforward and very user-friendly.
Litter box pros: the litter box waste bin holds a lot! I am a multi cat household and I can go about 2 weeks because I need to start checking it. What’s in the waste bin cannot be smelled even without their scent booster.
It holds a lot of litter and is universal in what litter can be used. I use the PetSafe micro crystal litter & it works like a charm!
The litter box is more open than others which is more inviting to cats.
So easy to clean the litter box itself but also to change litter for fresh litter. Everything is just so much easier!
Not necessarily a pro or con: the litter box is a bit taller so if your cat is a senior or has mobility issues this may not be the best litter box choice and for it to work properly it needs the wooden pieces holding it up at the bottom.
Con: (singular on purpose, cause I can truly only think of one con) the rubber piece that holds the litter kept popping up on one end or another and I’d think I’d have it fixed but the next time a cat used it, it would pop up again. I ended up using a really strong double sided tape on it and it’s never been an issue again.
All in all I would say this litter box is very worth it. It’s well made and very helpful and practical.
