— EDIT FIRST THING I FORGOT TO MENTION, I did not experience any VRR flicker.
I’ll start with the super simple version:
The brightness is insane
The colors are insanely vibrant, the blacks are mind blowing
The speed is also insane and somehow blows away 144/165/240 experiences away (well the 240 is marginally but this is miles above the 144Hz 49″ I’ve switched back down)
The matte coating is wonderful to look at. I thought it would be a gloss panel like the G9 but it is not and it provides a world of difference.Other details: Aside from the matte panel which is fantastic, the stand changes are welcome, rather than a screw in mechanism it’s now a place and lock. I — really want to provide more info without spewing technical jargon that could be considered a subtitle of a YTtech video but, I really can’t think of anything else to say besides this is the best monitor I’ve ever used and probably more than I’d ever need; the 1440p still allows me to push and reach the desired framerates on a 9800x3d + 5070 FE + 64gb 6000mhz cl28 combo.
THE LONG VERSION:
The Picture Quality:
The brightness is excellent – bright enough for daytime use without being harsh. Colors pop in a natural way, not that oversaturated look some monitors have. The matte coating is perfect – I was worried it would be glossy like the G9, but this handles reflections much better. And those OLED blacks? They’re the real deal – completely ink-like.Performance:
The 500Hz refresh rate makes a huge difference coming from 144Hz. Even compared to 240Hz, everything feels slightly smoother. G-Sync/FreeSync works perfectly – no tearing whatsoever. The 0.03ms response time means no ghosting in fast games.Design & Setup:
The stand is a nice upgrade – just clicks into place instead of needing screws. It adjusts every which way (height, tilt, swivel) and feels sturdy. The whole thing looks clean with its simple silver design.Connectivity:
Has all the ports you’d need: HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, and a couple USB ports
No built-in speakers, but that’s expected
Burn-in protection is included in the warranty for normal use
Real-World Use:
1440p works perfectly with my setup (Ryzen 9 9800X3D, RTX 5070 FE, 64GB 6000MHz CL28) – I get high frame rates without compromise. Text looks crisp for work, and colors are accurate enough for anything I do.Final Thoughts:
It’s simply the best display I’ve used. The combination of OLED quality and super-high refresh rate makes everything from games to movies look incredible. If you’re coming from lower refresh rates, the difference is immediately noticeable.
