🗣 Customers Say

Users appreciate the Samsung ViewFinity S65VC for its large screen size, vibrant display, and multitasking capabilities, but many are frustrated with its built-in camera and audio quality. Several users also reported durability concerns, including screen cracking issues.

Customer Reviews Summary

The Samsung ViewFinity S65VC has received mixed reviews from customers across various platforms. Many users praise its ultrawide screen, clear display, and ergonomic design, making it an excellent choice for multitasking and professional work. Some buyers specifically appreciate its compatibility with both Windows and Mac devices, allowing seamless connectivity for different work environments. The curved screen and high resolution have also been highlighted as major positives for enhancing productivity and entertainment.

However, numerous users report issues with the built-in webcam, speakers, and microphone. Many state that the camera has poor quality and limited adjustability, making it unsuitable for professional video calls. Similarly, the speakers produce tinny audio with limited volume control. A number of reviews mention that the brightness is not adjustable, which affects usability in different lighting conditions.

Another major complaint concerns durability issues, with several users reporting that their screens cracked unexpectedly despite normal use. Samsung’s warranty and customer support policies have also been criticized, with customers facing difficulties in obtaining replacements or repairs.

❌ What Are the Disadvantages of This Product?

  • Subpar Speaker and Audio Experience: Users frequently mention that the speakers sound tinny with no real depth. A reviewer explained, “The built-in speakers get loud but lack bass, making them feel inadequate.”

🔄 How Has This Product Improved?

The Samsung ViewFinity S65VC offers a higher refresh rate and a more immersive curved display compared to older models. However, many expected better improvements in built-in camera quality and speaker performance, areas where Samsung still falls short.

Incredible for the Price

This monitor is excellent. It works perfectly with my laptop, iPad, and Steam Deck. The refresh rate is perfect for my needs – I use 60hz for gaming (I game with my Steam Deck, so it can’t do more than 60FPS at this resolution anyway, so this is fine) and 100hz for productivity with my laptop. The stand is great and has a ton of adjustability. It can pretty much twist and turn any way you could possibly want. The curve is also very natural which I love. The built in speakers get LOUD! They’re not the most bassy, but for my needs, they do the job! The webcam also works flawlessly and is decent quality as well for work calls. I’m a happy customer!

Screen cracked just sitting there, Samsung will not warrantee

I’m a professional software engineer who works from home. I liked this monitor just fine. One morning I turned it on to discover a vertical crack running through it. Its just been sitting here for my 5 months of ownership. I’m not a gamer, my kids are in college, and I am somewhat boring. After sending it to Samsung, they reply that they (a) do not have the parts, and (b) will not warrantee anyway due to “physical damage”. There is no physical damage to the monitor! (but it does have a cracked screen). There is no recourse (the denial email has a “do not reply”!). Please be aware of Samsung support policies before buying any Samsung monitor!

Disappointed Samsung Fan

I bought this monitor because of 3 features ultrawide, KVM, and camera for zoom calls. I base my review on those pieces. 1 . Ultrawide – Visually works great. The ultrawide monitor looks beautiful. The Samsung software did not work on my laptop to divide screens up evenly and sadly I have a Samsung laptop. You would think it would compliment but unfortunately did not work because software would not install on my laptop. 2.) KVM – This was a disappointment. I tried many combinations to make this work different wires, docking stations, converters, messing with the settings, and nothing worked. A great differentiator but it fell short and it was kind of useless because the key board and mouse would not work with both computers. I tried talking to customer service but they were no help and never got back to me so I gave up. 3. Camera – this worked great and I had no issues in my brief time with monitor before I returned it. If you want a monitor for one computer than this one is for you.

Almost an excellent monitor!

Beautiful screen visibility, and I love that I can see more of my work screen without constantly shifting the windows around, but I cannot get the WIN10 computer to recognize either the webcam or the microphone! I have not been able to find any supportive help on the FAQs or Samsung’s web page. So I am unable to use it to Zoom to meetings.

Camera will not work with Mac as Samsung said

This monitor will not work with built in camera you will need to purchase a external camera
Very upset about this because I call Samsung and they told me it works with Mac – Not True

Great monitor with a few quirks.

purchased this to use on a brand new Mac Mini. The monitor works great and I like the image quality. This is my first curved monitor and it took a bit of getting use to visually. Almost a little vertigo when moving from side to side.

Quirks:
#1 Sound quality is terrible. Plan on using other speakers if sound is important
#2 Like so many people have reported every time it wakes up from sleep the monitor’s MENU pops up on the screen for about 20 seconds or so. The good news is it goes away but on the Make it pops up in the place where you need to type your screen password.
#3 The camera works great on the mac but you cannot adjust the angle of the camera (or the monitor) so the image is from my neck UP only and no easy way to correct it.

Nice Monitor, Bad Screen Lighting

Initially this monitor seemed fine. Less than 30 days after purchase the screen lighting went bad; some background lighting in the center section but very dark on right and left sides. Maybe just a single instance of a lemon, but the previous monitor I had to this one was also a Samsung flat screen whose electronics for screen lighting went bad as well. I can’t say enough good about Samsung TV’s, but the experience I’ve had with their computer monitors has been disastrous!

Defective product

I got this product hoping that samsung has a lot of good product for students. But i was wrong! the product had a broken display from the cornor. And the stand was broken. the customer service was way to inconsistent and had to call you guys again and again. I must have spend 10 hours talking to your customer service but still did not get anything that would solve my problem. In the end I was shoved an offer down my throat that I did not like and had to accept that offer as last resort. #youcouldhavedonebetter I have gotten another monitor that is again not living upto its standards. I hope you solve my problem because I cannot talk to you customer service anymore. I dont have 10 more hours to spend on your customer service. But the product would have been awesome if it did not have any defect. I hope you solve my that problem.

Unhappy long-time BBY customer

Bought this monitor 6 months ago. Watched the screen crack in front of me. Called Samsung and they told me I did physical damage to the unit. I literally haven’t touched this monitor since I bought it. Don not recommend Samsung or this cheaply constructed monitor

Great features for the price… but it’s not “everything” it could be

As a Mac user (using a Mac Studio primarily for video editing in Adobe Premiere, and also some design/photography in other Adobe Cloud applications), I went with this display due to the ultra-wide curved display and the price… and it seemed like it would be sufficiently Mac-Friendly. For the most part, I am satisfied but not 100% in love.

For starters, fellow Mac users, you might find that initially some text is blurry or otherwise not rendering properly – especially noticeable when web browsing and in Adobe InDesign. I did some digging online and found a suggestion to turn off HDR mode in the Mac’s display settings, and put the monitor in ECO mode (in the monitor’s picture settings), which seems to have helped improve the quality/clarity.

The built-in speaker is sub-par… quite tinny (almost as bad as the Mac Studio’s internal speaker). So I got the new Creative Pebble X Plus speakers (with subwoofer) to help beef up the sound a bit – and that system sounds fantastic.

There’s no built-in webcam, so I added a Logitech webcam. Just something to consider if you’re trying to save money but need those extra bells and whistles.

I also sometimes play games on this display (my game console connects via HDMI, while the Mac is connected via USB-C)…. and for some reason the monitor randomly switches between HDMI and USB-C even if my computer is remaining asleep. Thankfully when the console is off or asleep, Mac OS stays visible on screen without this random switching issue. Current Gen Game Consoles do not appear to support ultra-wide displays, so you have to either let the image stretch unnaturally wide, or crop it down (there’d be black bars on each side) so the gameplay screen is a true 16:9 ratio.

The under-screen menu buttons are not a great design choice… kind of inconvenient (and impossible to see without putting your head on your desk) and the options in the menu are quite limited. Takes a while to get used to using it. A software control panel for Mac would be greatly preferred.

Perhaps some models from Samsung can connect to WIFI And do updates without the computer’s OS being involved, but this monitor is “dumb” from that standpoint… needs Windows or a USB thumb drive to do any updates (as of this post, there’s been no updates since I purchased it).

IN SUMMARY: this is probably a better monitor for Windows users than Mac users, but it will work for Mac users if you don’t mind having some limitations. And I would not suggest this monitor for console gaming until consoles support ultra-wide displays natively
