While not OLED, still impressive colors and depth
Incentivized Incentivized review: The reviewer received a benefit for sharing feedback.Amazon Reviewer August 26, 2025Review source: AmazonThis monitor is impressive whether for work or play. As a video editor and digital compositor, I love the expansive screen real estate—it makes video editing and reviewing my scripts and nodes easy, thanks to the sharp text and crisp detail. After hours, it doubles as my entertainment hub, and the picture quality when streaming is vibrant, immersive, and far better than I expected.
The build quality is excellent: a sturdy steel base with rubber padding keeps it stable, and the design is sleek and modern. The curve feels natural at this size, colors are bright and accurate, HDR makes a real difference, and the blacks are deep instead of the washed-out gray you see on lesser displays. Adjustments are smooth, with solid tilt and height control that holds its position.
If I had to nitpick, I’d like more USB ports, and the rear-facing connections aren’t ideal for cable management. But overall, this is a beautifully built, feature-packed monitor that delivers both in productivity and entertainment.

The 4K UHD resolution is breathtaking, providing crystal-clear detail and vibrant colors that make everything—from fast-paced games to streaming media—look phenomenal. The curved screen wraps slightly around your field of view, making immersion truly next-level and reducing eye strain during long sessions.
Performance-wise, this monitor excels. The 165Hz refresh rate combined with a 1ms GtG response time ensures ultra-smooth gameplay with virtually no motion blur or ghosting. Paired with AMD FreeSync™ Premium Pro, screen tearing and stuttering are eliminated, making it ideal for competitive and fast-action games. The VESA DisplayHDR™ 600 support adds a remarkable level of brightness and contrast, giving depth to both shadows and highlights.
Setup was straightforward, and the monitor feels incredibly sturdy once mounted or placed on its stand. The curved design doesn’t just look cool—it genuinely enhances focus and immersion. The connectivity options are robust, allowing multiple devices to be hooked up easily. Even for productivity tasks, the large screen real estate makes multitasking and creative work feel seamless.
Overall, the Samsung Odyssey G7 is a top-tier gaming monitor that delivers exceptional performance, stunning visuals, and a highly immersive curved display. Whether for gaming, streaming, or creative work, it’s a phenomenal investment for anyone serious about high-quality display technology.

High Resolution, High Refresh Rate, High Quality Monitor
Incentivized Incentivized review: The reviewer received a benefit for sharing feedback.Ama August 25, 2025Review source: AmazonI love to game at 4K on large monitors, but the selection of these types of monitors has always been limited. This is a very large, 37″ monitor that is 4K and 165Hz refresh rate. It checks all the boxes for me – high pixel density, high refresh rate, and large format.
The curved screen is also a nice addition for monitors this large. It provides a better “wrap around” experience, keeping more of the monitor in your direct field of vision, and not in your periphery. Gaming is highly immersive with this display. The high refresh rate makes everything super smooth, provided you have a powerful enough GPU to actually drive this monitor! I cannot express just how nice that 165Hz refresh rate is. Everything is smooth and fluid.
This monitor also comes with an HDR feature, and a much higher peak brightness while in this mode. Colors pop beautifully for this still being an LED monitor. It won’t quite provide OLED/QD-OLED level color/black quality, but as far as LED monitors go, this is towards the top. Being an LED however, it thus has essentially no chance of burn in.
Some monitors like to cheap out on the stand, but this one definitely does not. The stand is heavy, using a large, stable metal plate, and a nicely sprung height and tilt adjustable stand. It’s super easy to get this monitor positioned where I want without fighting the stand. And, more importantly, it holds the position I leave it in. If you don’t want to use the wonderful stand, it does come with a standard VESA 100×100 mounting pattern for using the stand of your choice.
It also came with all the cables I need to get this up and running. Ultra high speed HDMI cable that will do the 4K 165hz, display port cable, and a large power brick to power this large monitor. Great additions to an already fantastic package.
Altogether, this is a more expensive monitor, but it’s hard to find a monitor with specs that will actually compare to this one. I’ve been using this monitor a ton since I got it, both for gaming and for work projects. I like it so much I’m almost tempted to get a second one use two right next to each other. It’s one of the best 4K monitors I’ve used, and I’ve had quite a number of them!

Impressive VA Monitor
Incentivized Incentivized review: The reviewer received a benefit for sharing feedback.Winston August 25, 2025Review source: AmazonAt this price level, VA comes pretty close to other panels aside from OLED. Something to note is also that this monitor is HUGE. The dimensions feel wonky for anything that is meant to be full screen or one window. The use case would be if you’re looking to replace a 4 small monitor setup, because with snap you can effectively run 4 windows and work concurrently. I wish I had a decent camera to really highlight the strengths as I took a walk around some stores to see what monitors were available, and this Samsung blows 90% of the market away.
The picture quality is honestly fantastic. It’s likely due to resolution, but also the customization that comes with it. You can make it REALLY bright if you want to. This model also plays to the strengths of VA well—you can enhance contrast in the settings for a much more crisp picture, as well as deep blacks. I have several OLED screens and while comparing them to the monitor and watching recent episodes of One Piece, the size honestly makes it a lot more enjoyable, though OLED screens have an oh so smidge of an edge in visual acuity.
You might want to slightly customize your experience though. Out of the box it has a setting that balances colors so that brightnesses aren’t too contrasted—this results in a white cursor on a black screen creating some sort of slightly glowing effect on occasion. On some games you might also want to really slide FOV up.
Some issues I’ve had: when waking up from DisplayPort, it seems to be slightly slower than my second monitor on HDMI. Also the back VESA mount cover works with most VESA plates as long as they are mostly flat. The mounting plate on my monitor arms are just a tad convex, which makes the plastic backplate unable to fully set in.
Aside from these issues, this is probably one of the best monitors I’ve ever used.

Bright with great visual graphics

Very awesome
Incentivized Incentivized review: The reviewer received a benefit for sharing feedback.Gurudev August 23, 2025Review source: AmazonFirst of all, this screen is big. But it’s big in a sneaky way. You kind of get used to it within a couple days. The curvature is “aggressive”, as they say, but at a distance of about two and a half feet, it feels fine pretty quickly. The colors are bright and true, the blacks are dark and crisp, and in general, having 4k resolution at 37″ is incredibly sharp and just a pleasure to look at. I’ve got the screen set to 125% interface sizing in Windows, and it feels right, basically matching the size of my other screens. Physically, the monitor feels solid and stable. I’m not worried about it falling, getting jostled, or otherwise having problems with positioning.
Now the negatives. It took me a long time, a couple days, to get my setup just right with this jumbo screen as the new centerpiece. My RTX 4070 Super, which had been running a 1440p and three 1080p screens just fine, suddenly couldn’t run four screens with this as one of them. I fiddled with it quite a long while, but could never get it to work. In the end, I had to add an old GTX 950 to run the fourth screen before I could get things into the frankly ridiculous configuration shown in the included image. Assembly wasn’t too difficult, but the instructions were a little lacking, with just pictures and not text instructions. Still, I was able to figure it out. The only other big issue is the price. This is a really nice screen, but I’m not sure it’s a thousand bucks nice. Still, it’s the only choice out there for a non-insanely oversized 4k screen right now, and it fills its size niche nicely. Very happy with it overall.

Impressive Monitor for Work and Streaming
Incentivized Incentivized review: The reviewer received a benefit for sharing feedback.Mr. Steve August 21, 2025Review source: AmazonUpdate: Well, I’ve been using this monitor a month now, and I’m afraid I need to add more CONs.
As hard as I try, including downloading their ‘Odyssey Control’ software and using the included USB cable, it will not connect to my Windows 10 PC. The PC ‘sees’ the device, but will not connect. When I launch the downloaded software, it says I must install an “additional service package”, and offers to install it. It appears to install correctly, but when I relaunch the software… same thing, and the circus continues. I was hoping to control the monitor with my PC because of the other caveat…
The monitor controls are almost impossible to use. Not being able to see it since its on the bottom, I have to blindly try to use it by ‘feel’.
My third disappointment: it IS setup to switch to the active input, but it doesn’t.
Sorry, but I have to take one of my 5 stars away. While gaming isn’t my primary use—I’m not a dedicated gamer—this monitor excels in my day-to-day work as a professional software developer. Writing C# code on it is a fantastic experience. The generous screen real estate lets me see more of my code at once, and the sharp, detailed display makes everything crystal clear.
Since I work from home full-time, I also use it for streaming after hours. My PC connects through the single DisplayPort, and my Roku uses one of the two HDMI inputs. The first time I switched over, I was genuinely blown away by the picture quality—rich, vibrant, and immersive.
The monitor features a solid steel base, about 1/8 inch thick, with rubber padding underneath to keep it securely in place once set up. The build quality reflects what I expect from Samsung—sleek, sturdy, and elegant.
That said, in the spirit of being honest and thorough, here are a few areas that could be improved:
★ The control pad is tucked underneath and not the easiest to use.
★ Documentation was minimal and mostly picture-based.
★ It has a headphone jack, but no built-in speakers? Just slightly weird.
★ Only one DisplayPort input; additional ports would be helpful.Extra details you might find useful:
★ Desk to bottom of screen (fully lowered): 3.25″ (82.55mm)
★ Desk to bottom of screen (fully raised): 8.00″ (203.2mm)Pros:
+ Solid steel base with rubber padding keeps it steady
+ Beautiful, sharp, and detailed display
+ Excellent for productivity—huge screen space for coding
+ Stunning picture quality for Roku/streaming
+ Premium Samsung build qualityCons:
– Control pad is hidden underneath and awkward to use
– Documentation is minimal (mostly pictures)
– Has headphone jack, but no built-in speakers
– Only one DisplayPort inputOverall, this is an impressive monitor. It may feel pricey, especially if gaming isn’t your focus, but if your budget allows, it’s an investment you’ll be very pleased with.

What an incredible monitor
Incentivized Incentivized review: The reviewer received a benefit for sharing feedback.ReyVn Cheshirefox August 18, 2025Review source: AmazonYes, it’s huge – but the curve works well at this size. The base has a fair amount of vertical travel and it tilts smoothly and remains where you put it without sagging after you let it go. Colors are bright and well saturated as they should be with an HDR capable screen, and the blacks are thoroughly dark and not deep gray like a lot of other monitors. Any complaints? There’s adequate space for some basic speaker functionality. More than 2 USB ports would also be appreciated – there is more than enough real-estate on the bottom of the screen to add a few ports. And if you design a monitor and then give the capability of vesa mounting on the back, for the love of cable-management, do NOT put all the ports pointing straight out the back of the monitor.

I love it!!
Incentivized Incentivized review: The reviewer received a benefit for sharing feedback.C. Ball August 15, 2025Review source: AmazonJust got this in today and man has blown my previous 4k monitor out of the water. Compared to my last monitor, which was an IPS monitor, even though this is a VA panel it has much better colors and much deeper blacks with a ton more adjustability when it comes color, brightness and contrast settings. I’m sure with time people will really nail down the settings and make this thing looks it’s best but for now even out of the box it looks amazing, especially with the HDR turned on. The curve on the monitor is nice and once you get used to it and for gaming it makes it feel a little bit more immersive in my opinion. Overall, I’m absolutely in love with this monitor and would honestly recommend it to anyone looking for a serious upgrade to their gaming setup.
