Pros & Cons
Pros
- Immersive Ultrawide Experience: The 49-inch screen with a 1000R curve provides an unparalleled immersive experience for gaming and effectively replaces multi-monitor setups. Users appreciate the massive screen real estate that allows for seamless multitasking without the distraction of bezels.
- High-End Performance Specs: With a 240Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time, the monitor delivers buttery-smooth visuals that are ideal for competitive gaming. The DQHD resolution ensures that text and graphics remain sharp, making it a powerful tool for both play and professional productivity.
- Versatile Multitasking Features: The Picture-in-Picture (PIP) and Picture-by-Picture (PBP) options are highly praised for allowing users to display multiple inputs simultaneously. This is particularly valued by traders and office workers who need to manage several applications or computers at once.
Cons
- Reliability and Power Failures: A significant number of reviewers reported the monitor suddenly dying or failing to power on after only a few months of use. Many users experienced these failures shortly after the one-year warranty expired, leading to frustrations over repairability and product longevity.
- Quality Control Issues: Many units arrived with or developed defects such as dead pixels, horizontal scan lines, and significant backlight bleed. Some customers had to go through multiple exchanges before receiving a unit that met acceptable quality standards.
- Design and Ergonomic Flaws: The included stand is noted for being extremely large and deep, consuming a significant amount of desk space. Additionally, the port placement is criticized for being difficult to access and requiring cables to be bent at awkward angles to fit.

Brand Barrier to Ultrawide Life
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.James September 29, 2024Review source: AmazonThis is the second Samsung ultrawide I bought over the past few months that ended up being returned. Never had a problem with Samsung displays (monitors, phones, or TV’s) before this year. I first got the G9 Neo 57′ inch and had to return for screen flickering and was unable to process at replacement (or reorder at same price) because of the sale price. Also, reading multiple reviews with similar experiences I figured I’d wait a few and pick up another ultrawide. This was an easy buy at $700 and with little negative reviews I figured this would be my monitor for years to come.
The first issue was I am only able to get 1080p on both PC with an RTX 3080 and MacBook Pro’s. I tried multiple cables, those in the box and others around the house and still not able to get 1440p. I reached out to Samsung and their suggestion was to send to them as a warranty claim. After scrolling reddit a few folks suggested a particular cable which I went and bought and still unable to get expected resolution. The monitor then started to flicker after a few hours of use making it unusable. Feels like QA needs to step their game up.

I've bought 2 of these so far

Just plug in the HDMI to the laptop and you get 5120×1440, which is like 3 screens. The curve is perfect, feels like you’re in a cockpit

An Absolute Joy to Look at
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.moodyman September 20, 2024Review source: BestbuyThis thing is great. If you try to look up opinions on this monitor you’ll see a lot of muddied responses speaking about the earlier models. This particular 2024 model doesn’t have any of those firmware issues that its previous versions are plagued with.
I went from 3 monitors to this thing, and this thing is beautiful. Gaming is a whole different experience and productivity/multitasking feels way more fluid on a single ultrawide. This is my entry into the ultrawide world and I’m blown away. I was deciding between this one and the 4k 57inch model but I’m glad I settled on this. I’m not sure how the screen could look any better. I normally wall mount my monitors but I don’t see a necessity to with this one as the base is very solid.
Not much else to say. It’s big, it’s beautiful and it doesn’t cost that much ($900 now). If you’re on the fence, go for it.

Amazing monitor for analytics!
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Poodle September 10, 2024Review source: BestbuyI’m doing a masters in Analytics online and my courses only allow for one monitor during proctored exams. My solution, a HUGE monitor. I’m not much of a gamer, so 1ms refresh rate is more than sufficient. I love how I can have four excel spreadsheets open side by side, or an online class, an IDE and a browser open. This thing has so many pixels, I had to upgrade my mouse… WOW!

A great solution
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Patzer September 6, 2024Review source: BestbuyI love this monitor… I had a 2 monitor setup and I was thinking about a 3rd in portrait mode for coding, but 3 monitors would take up too much space, so I retired 1 of my monitors and let this handle the multiple screens… and I can attest that this is perfect for me!! I love this monitor the only problem for me is the lack of support by windows os, but I’m sure in time a lot more functionality will be available… if you’re on the fence… get it! 😀

Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Adam Damrill September 2, 2024Review source: AmazonSuper pumped about this monitor at first. Got it on sale and was very excited. 3 months in and maybe 30 hours of gaming, the screen went black mid game and now will not power back on. Run from this monitor. Do not buy
