I think it is a perfect monitor for competitive gaming. 27 inches is the right size for me. I was able to push the framerates to the max, and this monitor looks buttery. The only downside is that it is 1080p and doesn’t support HDR. If you are competitive gamer, those things don’t matter to you. It has both DisplayPort and HDMI connectivity, which is perfect for me. Overall, I highly recommend this beast. It does not disappoint!

Good monitor, but terrible HDR

The monitor styling between the two is very similar. In terms of performance, it definitely has no issues hitting 180hz and maintaining it without any major issues like ghosting or signal dropouts. I would recommend downloading the dedicated monitor driver from Samsung’s website since it seems to have improved the color performance slightly.
As a warning, HDR is absolutely awful on this monitor and essentially just blows out the white balance and ruins any color accuracy that this monitor has out of the box. I would recommend leaving it off and forgetting that it exists at all. Brightness has been ok for SDR content, but no dimming zones and low peak brightness on top of the software white balance and calibrations issues, just forget about HDR.

It has various picture modes for gaming and comes with AMD freesync support for high refresh rate. The black levels of this monitor are great – perfect for dark games and movies. The monitor support standard mounts, I was able to place it on a dual monitor stand easily.
The only con is that this is not a great monitor for office work, so it is definitely not a jack of all trades. The 1080p resolution is too pixelated for a 27in screen when looking at text. But the monitor is advertised as a gaming monitor, so that’s not unexpected.

Replacing an LG monitor that has great color representation and resolution but is just a little bit slow for playing space Marine 2 and we got to get ready for that.
Lots of detailed product reviews on this item. My favorite monitor brand is Samsung followed by LG, feel like Samsung can sometimes have a higher price point but that is because of the brands reliability, performance and reputation.

I prefer a little bit larger of a monitor in general (32″ or so), but this smaller monitor is good in many ways. It’s small enough you can fit it in most setups. I’m currently using it at work where I can plug in my gaming laptop during lunch time. The refresh and response rates are great and the picture is good. It doesn’t have many features compared to some of the other monitors out there, but it has the basics and I don’t need more than that in my current setup. Those other monitors also come with a higher price tag, and this is pretty budget friendly!

The faster response really makes a difference. Overall, I con’t find anything I don’t like about this monitor and recommend it for games.
