Samsung Q80D QLED 4K Smart Tizen TV

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There’s not much to dislike. Has all the features I need and came at a great price. I like it.

The SAMSUNG 50-Inch Class QLED 4K Q80D Series Quantum HDR+ Smart TV is awesome! I’ve had Vizio TV’s for years, and they are very good. But, I’m really enjoying this Samsung. The Quantum dot technology is very bright, and crisp. And, the picture is incredibly clear. When I first turned on HBO, it was like I was standing in the room with the actors on the TV screen. The picture is that clear. Freaky, and cool.

I also love the Samsung TV plus choices. There are a huge amount of free programs from which to choose. Like many people, we stream almost everything. Samsung makes it easy to scan a barcode to set up all of the apps I want. Everything worked immediately. I was able to set up the TV in a few minutes. (Google account almost mandatory.) Still, I have only praise to share about the crisp, crystal clear picture. It’s fantastic.

Note: As is typical of many directions these days, the pictures on the assembly flyer weren’t particularly user friendly. What happened to: 1. La, la, la. 2. Yada ya, ya? I hate picture in lieu of words. I like to read. Still, once we figured it out it was fine. So, warning: Directions not helpful!

This TV is very customizable. I am dyslexic, which affects the way my brain processes everything. I see things differently than others, and process as a whole instead of from left to right. This isn’t a disadvantage. It can be an advantage. (Hey, Einstein was dyslexic, so I’m in good company.) Dyslexia is just different. As a result, even the way I see the TV is different from others. Samsung has made it easy for me to adjust everything to my liking. It took a few tries, but every TV requires personal tweaking. It’s nice that those options are available. (That’s a far cry from the TV’s in the 1960’s.) :*)~

If you don’t want to spend the money on an OLED, Q-LED is a worthy first runner up. And, Samsung does it again. Awesome! Recommended!

Tennessee in the elite 8 March madness tourneys. I was like man there is zero blur or tracking issues with the ball. The ball actually looked like you could steal it. It was amazing experience. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my new tv, I owned sony bravia lid before buying samsung. I had mixed reviews on samsung but I’m on love with the brand now. Awesome and crystal clear picture, quality, options that I didn’t know existed in TV.

What a great picture even up close. The TV has many input/output outlets from HDMI, USB, etc. on the back for whatever your needs are. Being a smart TV, many peripherals are bluetooth now I won’t have need for them but they are there if the need arises. The TV paired up easily with my cable TV, computer and headphones. There are many free choices of pre installed apps and you can search online for additional ones. The internal speakers are pretty good. It took me a while to figure out how to use some of the functions but that is a function of being old. I am very happy with this TV, super clear picture.

Very beautiful picture indeed. Fast response screen and very bright colors. This is my first QLED TV and I am enjoying watching 4K videos. Sound quality is great as well. I have an older computer, and even with a great video card, the full HD display 1920×1080 screen is not great. I guess I need to upgrade the computer to one that supports 4K for a more high quality image. The remote control is minimal and I wish it had the full range of buttons.

This TV is a fantastic upgrade for anyone looking to enhance their home entertainment experience. The best TV I have ever owned so far.

This is a nice quality TV and I was impressed with some of the “Ambient” features in the Smart Home Menu. There are lots of things to love about this from the relatively quick/responsive interface to the 4K HDR10+ support.

While this is a solid option, there are several things I’ve noticed that could be improved. While this is a relatively thin profile compared to older flat-screens, I still feel like the LG Gallery Series OLED or the Samsung The Frame would be better options as you start into this price-point. Having an option for a relatively flush-mount would be worth the extra couple hundred dollars at this level. Additionally, I use this as a wall-mounted external 4K monitor for my MacBook Pro. While it works well overall, I noticed it only supports 60Hz (despite conflicting info of both 60Hz and 120Hz on the listing… it is 60Hz for use with a computer). The other thing I noticed is whenever I plug it into the computer it needs me to select that type of device (e.g. it is a “PC”). This san get a little annoying… you’d think it would learn.

The Home experience has some nice options and is quick, but the interface can be less than intuitive. Trying to figure out how to add apps to the Home Screen and other tasks took a little patience in figuring out. I was impressed, however, that this TV natively supports playing Xbox Game Pass Ultimate as a stand-alone (e.g. NO Xbox needs to be plugged in… it just uses the Game Cloud and you connect a Bluetooth Controller – either Xbox or other type).

The box it comes in is pretty basic and so are the instructions. The remote is smaller than I’d thought (could be a good or bad thing depending on your expectation/desire) but it does charge via a small solar panel similar to a solar calculator… so that is neat.
