Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Exceptional Picture Quality: Users consistently praise the sharp 4K resolution, vibrant yet natural colors, and the ability of the X1 processor to upscale older, lower-resolution content with impressive clarity.
  • Strong Value for Money: Many reviewers highlight that this model provides the premium build quality and performance expected from the brand at a much more affordable price than high-end OLED models.
  • Intuitive Google TV Interface: The smart TV platform is frequently described as snappy and easy to navigate, offering seamless integration with popular streaming apps and effective voice control via Google Assistant.

Cons

  • Frequent Software Freezing: A recurring issue among users is the TV's tendency to freeze or become unresponsive, often requiring the unit to be physically unplugged and restarted to restore functionality.
  • Poor Remote Control Design: The included remote is widely criticized for being too small, lacking a numeric keypad for direct channel entry, and having no backlighting for visibility in dark rooms.
  • Unreliable Wi-Fi Connectivity: Multiple customers reported that the TV frequently drops its wireless connection or fails to find networks entirely, necessitating frequent network resets or hard reboots.

Customer Fit

  • Primary audience: People using this model as the main living room TV praise the large screen sizes (65–85"), theater-like feel, strong color, and clear dialogue for sports, movies, and everyday shows from across the room.
  • Secondary audience: Many buyers explicitly installed the 50–65" sizes in bedrooms and liked that it’s easy to mount, sounds good without a soundbar, and is quick to get streaming.
  • Ideal scenarios: Reviewers say PS5 gameplay “looks great” and input lag feels low for casual gaming, but competitive players wanting 120Hz/VRR or simultaneous 4K+HDR may be disappointed.

This tv went in my daughter’s bedroom. The size and location or perfect. The color and sound from this tv is amazing. I always liked Sony electronics and there is absolutely nothing wrong with this tv for a high mid grade tv. We love it. The built in Google tv part is really a cool feature as well. Up to this point we only had those other Roku or Fire Stick. This is a great bedroom tv.

  2. TV cannot hold wifi connection

This TV constantly drops wifi connection. I took all required procedures to address this issue including constant contact with my wifi provider. This only occurs with this tv. My other 3 Sony Bravia’s don’t seem to have this problem. I have reset the network, disconnected the power source, reset my router and I can’t watch more than 10 minutes of a program before it drops the wifi signal. The issue is not the quality of picture and sound, it is the failure to maintain wifi connection.

It’s a Sony Bravia, so yea, it’s a great TV.

It looks great out of the box, and the settings allow you to turn off all the atrocious upscaling ‘features’ fairly quickly.

I have it wall mounted in the bedroom, so I do not have any external soundbars or speakers attached, and the sound out of the TV is more than adequate for my use.

The Google TV interface is hot garbage, but so is every smart TV interface on the planet. So it’s standard hot garbage.

All in all it is exactly what I paid for and I have zero regrets purchasing it.

After my Samsung gave out in under two years, I decided to switch things up and go with the Sony Bravia 3—and honestly, I’m SO glad I did! Right out of the box, the setup was quick and painless. The picture quality is noticeably better- I especially see a major difference when watching sports! The motion is smooth, the colors are more natural, and everything just looks crisp, especially in 4K.

    Beautiful picture and sound
    Scant instructions
“Google” involvement of no value to us.
Tuner less effective than inexpensive TVs.
    Still, we love it.

Worth the extra money over VIZIO. I thought I had no issues with my 2 year old VIZIO. After getting this one I can see it’s well worth the price. Colors, smoother frame rates, more inputs.
