Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Exceptional Picture Quality: Users consistently praise the sharp 4K resolution, vibrant yet natural colors, and the ability of the X1 processor to upscale older, lower-resolution content with impressive clarity.
  • Strong Value for Money: Many reviewers highlight that this model provides the premium build quality and performance expected from the brand at a much more affordable price than high-end OLED models.
  • Intuitive Google TV Interface: The smart TV platform is frequently described as snappy and easy to navigate, offering seamless integration with popular streaming apps and effective voice control via Google Assistant.

Cons

  • Frequent Software Freezing: A recurring issue among users is the TV's tendency to freeze or become unresponsive, often requiring the unit to be physically unplugged and restarted to restore functionality.
  • Poor Remote Control Design: The included remote is widely criticized for being too small, lacking a numeric keypad for direct channel entry, and having no backlighting for visibility in dark rooms.
  • Unreliable Wi-Fi Connectivity: Multiple customers reported that the TV frequently drops its wireless connection or fails to find networks entirely, necessitating frequent network resets or hard reboots.

Customer Fit

  • Primary audience: People using this model as the main living room TV praise the large screen sizes (65–85"), theater-like feel, strong color, and clear dialogue for sports, movies, and everyday shows from across the room.
  • Secondary audience: Many buyers explicitly installed the 50–65" sizes in bedrooms and liked that it’s easy to mount, sounds good without a soundbar, and is quick to get streaming.
  • Ideal scenarios: Reviewers say PS5 gameplay “looks great” and input lag feels low for casual gaming, but competitive players wanting 120Hz/VRR or simultaneous 4K+HDR may be disappointed.

Nice picture and color once you disable all the added visual processing that you cac. Can not disable dolbyvision in native apps however which is beyond annoying. Way too expensive for this experience also Google TV is just generally lame and buggy.

    Edit:
Died after FIVE months. Sony was quick to replace it so one star for their customer service and one each for color and image.

LG from 4 years ago had lines already and with Helene damaging mines that make lcd screens….well wife who hates spending money was like it’s your bday buy a tv! Have a Sony sound bar and headphones stereos always good quality, so done with LG, can’t buy insignia anymore, so tried a Bravia….setup was tedious 1hr updates app loads etc…but once done automatically found my sound bar defaulted sound quality is amazing! Then once I over road the energy saving settings and the Vivid picture is mind boggling clear bright 4k….add on Google TV interface which is nice and Sonycore and 5 free movie rentals! Plus haystack news app and 159 free channels (LG 120) this TV was a steal for the money and a upgrade from any other tv…..for $750 (all my 65inch tvs have been $1200) this was a great purchase!

Great quality Sony TV for the price! Would definitely recommend. Crisp 4K, decent hardware but might not work well with weaker WiFi outputs. I first used it an Airbnb, and the software didn’t run very well, so I just used my laptop and HMDI instead. When I brought it home it works perfectly with my regular WiFi. So just keep in mind cheap and slow internet won’t work well with this TV.

I bought a tv but was having problems getting a clear picture so called in to Best Buy. They were at my house within two weeks, brought me a new tv, set it up and took all the garbage with them. They spent time with me, explaining how the tv works and troubleshooting. I was very pleased with the service I received.

  7. Basic but Excellent Sony Bravia

The picture quality is what you would expect from a Sony Bravia-excellent. As it is at the lower end of the Bravia line, it does not have all of the bells and whistles that more expensive models in this series have but it has a good quality picture and sound for a smaller room and gives you access to streaming apps through Google. The remote is the one feature that is only adequate. It is very small & while this may be a minor issue, it could be a problem for someone who has dexterity issues as the buttons are very close together. Because of its size, functions are not labelled on the remote. This might also be a challenge for someone who is not used to having to memorize what symbol controls what functions. And, of course, there is no longer any paper instruction manual/quick guide included to describe the functions on the remote so identifying buttons other than volume, channel & power, is a trial and error exercise. However, the remote issue aside, overall, it is an excellent, solid Smart 4K TV from a reliable company at a reasonable price.
