Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Exceptional Picture Quality: Users consistently praise the sharp 4K resolution, vibrant yet natural colors, and the ability of the X1 processor to upscale older, lower-resolution content with impressive clarity.
  • Strong Value for Money: Many reviewers highlight that this model provides the premium build quality and performance expected from the brand at a much more affordable price than high-end OLED models.
  • Intuitive Google TV Interface: The smart TV platform is frequently described as snappy and easy to navigate, offering seamless integration with popular streaming apps and effective voice control via Google Assistant.

Cons

  • Frequent Software Freezing: A recurring issue among users is the TV's tendency to freeze or become unresponsive, often requiring the unit to be physically unplugged and restarted to restore functionality.
  • Poor Remote Control Design: The included remote is widely criticized for being too small, lacking a numeric keypad for direct channel entry, and having no backlighting for visibility in dark rooms.
  • Unreliable Wi-Fi Connectivity: Multiple customers reported that the TV frequently drops its wireless connection or fails to find networks entirely, necessitating frequent network resets or hard reboots.

Customer Fit

  • Primary audience: People using this model as the main living room TV praise the large screen sizes (65–85"), theater-like feel, strong color, and clear dialogue for sports, movies, and everyday shows from across the room.
  • Secondary audience: Many buyers explicitly installed the 50–65" sizes in bedrooms and liked that it’s easy to mount, sounds good without a soundbar, and is quick to get streaming.
  • Ideal scenarios: Reviewers say PS5 gameplay “looks great” and input lag feels low for casual gaming, but competitive players wanting 120Hz/VRR or simultaneous 4K+HDR may be disappointed.

I have had this TV for about a month now and wish I had gone with a different TV. From Google’s software being absolutely horrible and having login issues, freezing, and picture distortion, I haven’t had a single day where the TV functioned without issue. Don’t waste your money when there are better TVs out there.

I recently got the Sony Bravia 3, and it’s been an incredible upgrade! The picture quality is stunning the colors are super vibrant, and the detail is amazing, especially when watching 4K content and playing fifa on my playstation.

The smart features are easy to use with Google TV, and I love the voice search option. It makes finding shows easier. The built-in speakers sound good,I almost think I don’t need a soundbar.

Design-wise, it looks sleek with minimal bezels i see more of the screen than a tv frame, fitting nicely into my living room. Overall, I’m really impressed with the Bravia 3 it’s worth the investment if you want a fantastic viewing ans sound experience!

Sony has long been the gold standard for stereo, video, and even broadcast equipment. But since Sony is now primarily an entertainment company, they have colluded with Google to push ads to sell programming services. There is no way to disable this, even in the so-called “Apps-only” mode. I guess this is payment for getting this technology at a lower cost. And turning on “Apps-only” mode degrades the overall functionality of the TV.

Because this TV is so tightly integrated with its software, it is necessary to mention software functionality when reviewing the product. GoogleTV is not well integrated with other Google apps such as YouTubeTV. Signing in as one user on the GoogleTV startup screen does not take you to the same user when you launch YouTubeTV. And the YouTubeTV app autoplays content even when that setting is turned off; a bug Google has not fixed even after I reported it several times. It is difficult to install or reinstall apps. You have to go to the Google Play Store app to do this and that app is not visible in the app list. You have to search through the Settings menus and the Google Play Store app is not always visible.

The picture and sound quality are very good, especially if you know how to adjust the advanced settings. Make sure any power-saving features (on by default) are turned off because they degrade picture quality.

The glossy screen is unwatchable during the day if you have windows behind you, unless you have blackout shades. Even a lamp next to you produces unwanted glare. The picture is not bright enough to watch during the day in an undarkened room, even at 100 percent brightness. The “Vivid” video setting bumps up the brightness a little, but then faces are washed out.

The audio sync is off between the built-in speakers and the digital audio output. You cannot use both at the same time, and there is no “delay” adjustment.

This TV has only HDMI inputs. Throw away any legacy equipment you might have.

When trying to call for support, Sony did not give me a choice to talk to a live person, only a robot. When choosing chat support on their website, I got a chatbot instead of a real person, and the chatbot offered irrelevant information.

Picture quality was not great and what we expected from a Sony TV. There was some pixelation to the tv and on action scenes and sports there was blurriness.
