Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Exceptional Picture Quality: Users consistently praise the sharp 4K resolution, vibrant yet natural colors, and the ability of the X1 processor to upscale older, lower-resolution content with impressive clarity.
  • Strong Value for Money: Many reviewers highlight that this model provides the premium build quality and performance expected from the brand at a much more affordable price than high-end OLED models.
  • Intuitive Google TV Interface: The smart TV platform is frequently described as snappy and easy to navigate, offering seamless integration with popular streaming apps and effective voice control via Google Assistant.

Cons

  • Frequent Software Freezing: A recurring issue among users is the TV's tendency to freeze or become unresponsive, often requiring the unit to be physically unplugged and restarted to restore functionality.
  • Poor Remote Control Design: The included remote is widely criticized for being too small, lacking a numeric keypad for direct channel entry, and having no backlighting for visibility in dark rooms.
  • Unreliable Wi-Fi Connectivity: Multiple customers reported that the TV frequently drops its wireless connection or fails to find networks entirely, necessitating frequent network resets or hard reboots.

Customer Fit

  • Primary audience: People using this model as the main living room TV praise the large screen sizes (65–85"), theater-like feel, strong color, and clear dialogue for sports, movies, and everyday shows from across the room.
  • Secondary audience: Many buyers explicitly installed the 50–65" sizes in bedrooms and liked that it’s easy to mount, sounds good without a soundbar, and is quick to get streaming.
  • Ideal scenarios: Reviewers say PS5 gameplay “looks great” and input lag feels low for casual gaming, but competitive players wanting 120Hz/VRR or simultaneous 4K+HDR may be disappointed.

**I’ll update this review as time goes on **

The audio that comes out of the speakers is absolutely terrible!! It sounds tinny, the volume will go up or down depending on what music is coming from a movie or TV show, and when people speak in a movie / show it’s hit or miss if you’ll actually hear then

I’d recommend Samsung at this point.

  3. Poor Quality and Terrible Support!

    Review source: Amazon

I purchased a Sony TV for around $2000, and it has been a huge disappointment! The TV had several issues right out of the box, and when I reached out to technical support, I was met with unhelpful and frustrating responses. They couldn’t provide any meaningful assistance, leaving me with a malfunctioning product and no resolution in sight.

I strongly advise against buying a Sony TV based on my experience. For the price, you’d expect quality and support, but that hasn’t been the case here. Save your money and invest in a more reliable brand!

  7. Worst tv I’ve ever owned.

    George Blogna September 15, 2024
    Review source: Amazon

I have had problems with streaming on this tv just about since I’ve bought it. It won’t open the apps consistently and when it does it will jam or go to a different app then what I was watching. I have changed my internet to see if I can fix this with no change. All my other tvs using the fire stick work fine. The Sony not so smart tv will not constantly work. Last Sony I purchase.

  9. Decent Smart TV, Downgraded Speakers.

    Review source: Amazon

TV is nice, but sound is not as loud or full as my last 43″ Sony Bravia. The speakers have been downgraded, much less bass, legs are cheaper and plastic but easy to install. Original Sony Bravia had much bigger and completely different sturdy metal legs compared to these cheaper and smaller plastic push-in legs. Still sturdy though. An OK TV, but doesn’t live up to the quality of the first one I had. Pretty nice picture.
