Don’t buy if you’re using an external speaker

November 24, 2025Review source: AmazonEvery time you turn on the TV if you use an external speaker (that isn’t a Sony) the TV will turn on, but it takes the TV about 5 seconds to turn the external speaker on and then the TV will go black for another 5 seconds while it “switches to external speakers”.
Online it says maybe updating the software will fix it but the TV also won’t let me connect to the Internet through the Wi-Fi or Ethernet. After resetting tv I was able to update the software and I didn’t solve a single issue.
These issues may be fixable, but it’s ridiculous that out of the box it works this poorly for a Sony.
What’s not being fixed is the build quality, the TV feels like it’s made out of really cheap plastic and the stands that come with the TV are extremely wobbly whereas my old Samsung had a metal back and was sturdy.
The picture looks good, really vivid, and if the tv doesn’t break after a couple years like my old Samsungs and I am able to fix these software issues with not much trouble then I think the TV will have been worth it but for right now I wish I had purchased something else.
