Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Exceptional Picture Quality: Users consistently praise the sharp 4K resolution, vibrant yet natural colors, and the ability of the X1 processor to upscale older, lower-resolution content with impressive clarity.
  • Strong Value for Money: Many reviewers highlight that this model provides the premium build quality and performance expected from the brand at a much more affordable price than high-end OLED models.
  • Intuitive Google TV Interface: The smart TV platform is frequently described as snappy and easy to navigate, offering seamless integration with popular streaming apps and effective voice control via Google Assistant.

Cons

  • Frequent Software Freezing: A recurring issue among users is the TV's tendency to freeze or become unresponsive, often requiring the unit to be physically unplugged and restarted to restore functionality.
  • Poor Remote Control Design: The included remote is widely criticized for being too small, lacking a numeric keypad for direct channel entry, and having no backlighting for visibility in dark rooms.
  • Unreliable Wi-Fi Connectivity: Multiple customers reported that the TV frequently drops its wireless connection or fails to find networks entirely, necessitating frequent network resets or hard reboots.

Customer Fit

  • Primary audience: People using this model as the main living room TV praise the large screen sizes (65–85"), theater-like feel, strong color, and clear dialogue for sports, movies, and everyday shows from across the room.
  • Secondary audience: Many buyers explicitly installed the 50–65" sizes in bedrooms and liked that it’s easy to mount, sounds good without a soundbar, and is quick to get streaming.
  • Ideal scenarios: Reviewers say PS5 gameplay “looks great” and input lag feels low for casual gaming, but competitive players wanting 120Hz/VRR or simultaneous 4K+HDR may be disappointed.

I’ve really enjoyed the x90L that I bought last year, so decided to give this one a chance as a secondary, bedroom tv.
Was a little concerned with low contrast ratings in reviews, but don’t see much difference from the x90L. Nothing that bothers me anyway. Blacks seem nice and dark. Maybe they lack detail in comparison?
At any rate, most impressive is that it has similarly wonderful color as the x90L to my eyes. Put picture mode to professional, contrast to 90, gamma to 0 or higher, other settings tweak to taste, and the image is fantastic.
After a couple of days, had to unplug for a minute as tv was unresponsive. Hopefully not a sign of things to come, but had to do a couple of resets for the x90L early and haven’t had issues with it since.
Volume is a little laggy and skips levels, but ok.
Menu navigation more laggy than x90L, but good enough that I’ll be fine if not adding a streaming box.
Didn’t give the sound much of a chance before hooking up an ht-s2000 bar. Tv/sound bar hook up sync up very well.

This TV is replacing a This TV is replacing an older Sony in the bedroom and will be moving the older one in another bedroom. The picture quality is great and colors look fantastic. The remote and menu is easy to use. I have been buying Sony for over 20 years. I have purchased another brand in the past and it doesn’t compare to the Sony. Bottom line you can’t go wrong buying a Sony TV.

Installation was easy. Setting preferences was easy. However, when I change channels it cannot keep up and it sticks on the original channel. Scrolling is too fast or too slow. It’s fine. It’s just not wonderful.

  6. Sound quality is great out of the box!

It’s a fine tv. I have the comparable Samsung in another room as well and can honestly say that the sound quality straight from the Sony TV is far and away better than the other and to me, that’s worth it. Don’t get me wrong, it can still benefit from a sound bar, but out of the box, it sounds great.

Purchased for my grandmother as an upgrade to her older TV. Super easy setup and has a great picture. For the price, you won’t get the best of the best picture, but won’t be disappointed, either.

The Bravia TV has been our go to TV for the last decade. We have two in our house in the guest room and family room. They have been amazing tvs. When adding a TV to our bedroom, the small Bravia 3 seemed like a natural choice. However, I very much dislike this TV. The color and adjustment options are completely off, especially with skintones. I fussed with the color and advanced color options for 90 minutes and could not adjust enough. Or if adjusting in one show/app, another show and app had terrible color. I’ve never returned a Sony TV before, and it is disappointing and unfortunate to be returning this one. But I very much dislike this.
