Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Exceptional Picture Quality: Users consistently praise the sharp 4K resolution, vibrant yet natural colors, and the ability of the X1 processor to upscale older, lower-resolution content with impressive clarity.
  • Strong Value for Money: Many reviewers highlight that this model provides the premium build quality and performance expected from the brand at a much more affordable price than high-end OLED models.
  • Intuitive Google TV Interface: The smart TV platform is frequently described as snappy and easy to navigate, offering seamless integration with popular streaming apps and effective voice control via Google Assistant.

Cons

  • Frequent Software Freezing: A recurring issue among users is the TV's tendency to freeze or become unresponsive, often requiring the unit to be physically unplugged and restarted to restore functionality.
  • Poor Remote Control Design: The included remote is widely criticized for being too small, lacking a numeric keypad for direct channel entry, and having no backlighting for visibility in dark rooms.
  • Unreliable Wi-Fi Connectivity: Multiple customers reported that the TV frequently drops its wireless connection or fails to find networks entirely, necessitating frequent network resets or hard reboots.

Customer Fit

  • Primary audience: People using this model as the main living room TV praise the large screen sizes (65–85"), theater-like feel, strong color, and clear dialogue for sports, movies, and everyday shows from across the room.
  • Secondary audience: Many buyers explicitly installed the 50–65" sizes in bedrooms and liked that it’s easy to mount, sounds good without a soundbar, and is quick to get streaming.
  • Ideal scenarios: Reviewers say PS5 gameplay “looks great” and input lag feels low for casual gaming, but competitive players wanting 120Hz/VRR or simultaneous 4K+HDR may be disappointed.

The picture is clearer, colors appear more natural, sound is easier to understand. Would suggest having the TV installed.

We went with Sony because that’s what we have had for the last 20 years. We got it home and the picture was fuzzy as if it was a 10 year old TV. We ended up returning it the next morning. Entry level TV. Not great.

Our Sony Bravia purchased in 2017 suddenly died. Best Buy employee says to stick with the Sony. I wanted the 85k but it wasnt in stock. Easy to set up but immediately noticed three corners were bright. Only the upper left corner is black on a dark screen. Sound is good so maybe i just got a faulty tv?

Purchased a 50 inch Sony Bravia 3 a Week ago. The picture is OK. But, we turn our TV on and approximately 30 seconds later. It turns off. Turn it back on and a home screen comes up and we have to hit The input button to get the home screen to go away. The TV sounds very tiny watching a movie is ridiculous. It makes the movie seem very cheap and also there is a dark line at the top of the movie and a dark line at the bottom of the movie, like it is in wide screen. I cannot locate anywhere in the settings to change that. possibility that this TV is going back. We have owned Sony TVs for 15 years. And they were wonderful. This one is not.

We went into Best Buy to look at a new television. It was a great experience. We had a lot of knowledgeable people that helped us to make a decision. There are so many different ones!! We ended up with a great tv and are very happy with our purchase.

Didn’t have a lot of selection in the 50 inch class — only 2 TVs, Samsung and Sony. The salesperson in Beavercreek was quite knowledgeable about the differences and going with the Sony was a clear choice. Only one in stock was in Springfield (~20 miles) and the salesperson facilitated the sale and arranged for pickup in Springfield.
The produce, so far, after 2 weeks, has been excellent. Set up took some time, but was not too complicated. Very clear picture and ease of operation.

Great picture but it takes a lot of tweaking to get it right. The default settings has the backlight low so the screen is dark. The built in speakers aren’t good definitely going to need external speakers

Overall good tv. Fits the space well and works with my other apps. Getting connected is a little slow but works.
