Pros & Cons
Pros
- Exceptional Picture Quality: Users consistently praise the sharp 4K resolution, vibrant yet natural colors, and the ability of the X1 processor to upscale older, lower-resolution content with impressive clarity.
- Strong Value for Money: Many reviewers highlight that this model provides the premium build quality and performance expected from the brand at a much more affordable price than high-end OLED models.
- Intuitive Google TV Interface: The smart TV platform is frequently described as snappy and easy to navigate, offering seamless integration with popular streaming apps and effective voice control via Google Assistant.
Cons
- Frequent Software Freezing: A recurring issue among users is the TV's tendency to freeze or become unresponsive, often requiring the unit to be physically unplugged and restarted to restore functionality.
- Poor Remote Control Design: The included remote is widely criticized for being too small, lacking a numeric keypad for direct channel entry, and having no backlighting for visibility in dark rooms.
- Unreliable Wi-Fi Connectivity: Multiple customers reported that the TV frequently drops its wireless connection or fails to find networks entirely, necessitating frequent network resets or hard reboots.
Customer Fit
- Primary audience: People using this model as the main living room TV praise the large screen sizes (65–85"), theater-like feel, strong color, and clear dialogue for sports, movies, and everyday shows from across the room.
- Secondary audience: Many buyers explicitly installed the 50–65" sizes in bedrooms and liked that it’s easy to mount, sounds good without a soundbar, and is quick to get streaming.
- Ideal scenarios: Reviewers say PS5 gameplay “looks great” and input lag feels low for casual gaming, but competitive players wanting 120Hz/VRR or simultaneous 4K+HDR may be disappointed.

DON't buy this if you are replacing an older Sony Bravia.
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Librax2 January 6, 2026Review source: AmazonI bought this Sony to replace a 2017 Sony Bravia that died just before the New Year. I spent hours on the internet, studying reviews because I no longer drive and cannot go shopping in person. This Sony model is nowhere nearly as good as the one I replaced. The screen reflects our living room lamp, so we have to turn the lamp off. Setting up this Bravia was a major challenge–required two days of work, + a long phone call to Asurion (buy this warranty!) to make it operational. I will always regret this purchase.

great value for casual movie watching
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Sally January 5, 2026Review source: BestbuyThis TV has been a great choice for me. I initially considered the BRAVIA 5, but the price was relatively high for my needs. As someone who watches movies only occasionally, I compared several other brands, but none matched Sony’s color quality. Eventually, I chose the BRAVIA 3. It is much more affordable than the BRAVIA 5, yet still delivers very good movie performance.

Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Eileen January 4, 2026Review source: BestbuyMy Sony Bravia tv blew me away with the absolutely gorgeous pi ture and color. Was going to buy a tv with mini led. But the Sony was even clearer and more vibrant, and the picture didnt blur at angles. Absolutely love it. And the price was lower. What else can one want?

Beautiful Sony TV
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Kimmy January 4, 2026Review source: BestbuySony doesn’t fail. The color is crisp but natural. Mount it on the wall and it’s a true beauty. I paired this with the Sony Theater System 6 and it’s like watching a movie in the theater. I got this on sale during Black Friday.

First Sony or Android TV / A++
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Jimmy Dutka January 4, 2026Review source: AmazonWent from an LG OLED 55” to this 65”. No regrets. Never used the Android OS for TV, very impressed. I like it a lot more than LG’s WebOS. Just more features and ease of use. I don’t have a “Home theater” type setup or do any gaming, just this in a smaller living room, watching tv shows and movies. Going from OLED to this, I barely notice the difference (my LG OLED got terrible burn-in after 5/6 years). Had this about a month. I’ll report back in 6 months if my satisfaction changes.
My only off comment would be that the remote comes with six channel buttons: Sony, Prime, Netflix, Disney+, YouTube, and… Crunchyroll?? Apparently it’s a Manga channel. Very odd choice. Wish you could reprogram them.
Hands down, no brainer purchase. Absolutely worth the money. -
Solid LED TV
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.SethF January 3, 2026Review source: BestbuyBravia 3 has a narrow niche – basic picture quality on a high-quality build that will last a long time – if that is exactly what you’re looking for, this is your best option. Once you upgrade from LED it is hard to go back to it. Lack of local dimming made for blocky blacks w/ poor contrast, but that is to be expected. Not a good choice for gaming or dark rooms.
Know what you are buying – significantly better picture quality is available in higher-end Bravia models. I ended up upgrading to a Bravia 5 75” mini LED, which better matched my wants – cost twice as much, but the upgrade was worth it.
In the age of $300 65” TV’s, the appliances don’t need to last very long to get your money’s worth. A Sony TV that lasts 10+ years less useful than it was a decade ago. If you don’t have $1600 to buy a Bravia 5, consider a cheaper brand w/ high picture quality rather than the $800 Bravia 3.
My personal opinion, Google interface is better than the other stock options. Quick, minimal ads, simple, intuitive, smooth.
Four stars as it lags in value and picture quality, commensurate w/ Sony pricing, and LED technology.Read More
