Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Exceptional Picture Quality: Users consistently praise the sharp 4K resolution, vibrant yet natural colors, and the ability of the X1 processor to upscale older, lower-resolution content with impressive clarity.
  • Strong Value for Money: Many reviewers highlight that this model provides the premium build quality and performance expected from the brand at a much more affordable price than high-end OLED models.
  • Intuitive Google TV Interface: The smart TV platform is frequently described as snappy and easy to navigate, offering seamless integration with popular streaming apps and effective voice control via Google Assistant.

Cons

  • Frequent Software Freezing: A recurring issue among users is the TV's tendency to freeze or become unresponsive, often requiring the unit to be physically unplugged and restarted to restore functionality.
  • Poor Remote Control Design: The included remote is widely criticized for being too small, lacking a numeric keypad for direct channel entry, and having no backlighting for visibility in dark rooms.
  • Unreliable Wi-Fi Connectivity: Multiple customers reported that the TV frequently drops its wireless connection or fails to find networks entirely, necessitating frequent network resets or hard reboots.

Customer Fit

  • Primary audience: People using this model as the main living room TV praise the large screen sizes (65–85"), theater-like feel, strong color, and clear dialogue for sports, movies, and everyday shows from across the room.
  • Secondary audience: Many buyers explicitly installed the 50–65" sizes in bedrooms and liked that it’s easy to mount, sounds good without a soundbar, and is quick to get streaming.
  • Ideal scenarios: Reviewers say PS5 gameplay “looks great” and input lag feels low for casual gaming, but competitive players wanting 120Hz/VRR or simultaneous 4K+HDR may be disappointed.

I have had this tv for almost 4 months. It started off great. Great picture, good sound and nice size, all for a reasonable price. I was very happy with it. These last couple of weeks it just freezes up and won’t respond to the remote control. I have to unplug the tv and leave it unplugged for a few minutes. Plug it back in and let it reboot itself and it will work fine for a few days. I don’t watch this tv everyday. I will be contacting Beat Buy to see what can be done about it. I’ll update my review once things have been resolved.

It’s a Sony. How much more can you say? LG glass with Sony’s proprietary internals. Add a sound system to it and go

  7. WiFi connection is the continuous downfall of Sony tv’s

The audio and picture clarity are very nice. However, the ability to connect to WiFi is a major issue, some days it just doesn’t connect and the days where it decides to, it takes around 20 mins to connect, which is a common occurrence with Sony tv’s. At this point it is best just to go with a Vizio, may not be as durable as a Sony. But with the WiFi issues it makes that option far better and way less expensive

This TV is really not even close to being worth what it cost. It was a lot of work to get it home, unboxed, and set up, to now decide that I want to return it. I can’t believe Sony is selling such a product. The Google aspect of it is worthless. It was a pain in the butt to connect Sonos speakers (also wouldn’t recommend them as it’s definitely not as good as a true surround sound). You cannot be in the middle of a movie and go into settings on the TV, because there’s no way to get back to the movie… you have to click Home and then start the movie again. It goes to a black screen that says no channel stored and I’ve tried changing that setting with no luck. There are lots of different options in the menus that are grayed out. The HDMI input settings are weird. It doesn’t have eARC. The picture quality is no better than that of a $300 TV. These are just a few of the things that I can think of right off hand. I am so disappointed!
